  1. We used her for that one too. Day 1 she took us to the Colosseum, Roman form and Palatine Hill and day 2, to the Vatican. You may have been the one that recommended her to us. She was great!
  2. We just used Rome with Marisa for a private tour and were quite pleased.
  3. I will check them out thanks! I knew there was a place like this but couldn’t remember the name. Thanks so much! thanks! Not feeling energetic after 5 days in Rome. That place was very interesting but I’m ready to relax! lol We just got here today and this happens to be a special occasion for them, the Festival of Sant’ Andrea. We enjoyed some of the festivities associated with it, including them running up the steps and are currently waiting for the fireworks to begin. We do plan to go inside the before we leave.
  4. I hate to say it, but I’m tired of pizza and pasta. Anyone recommend somewhere for dinner that offers something like a good steak or fried fish? Tomorrow we have a 7 hour boat tour, with a stop in Positano. Any suggestions for what to do the following day? We may just hang out at the beach and relax unless there is a must do near.
  5. We’re staying at Albergo del Senato now. I asked about A/C in May and he didn’t understand my question, like I was crazy for asking lol He said whenever it’s hot they have it on and wanted to make sure we were comfortable, which we have been. It’s a lovely hotel with amazing staff. We are very pleased with our selection and would to thank all those here that recommended it! Currently head to the Vatican. It’s misting outside so they offered us an umbrella.
  6. We will be there tomorrow. I will try to remember to ask.
  7. Our flight got at JFK leaves from terminal 8 and the Chase lounge is in terminal 4. Will we have to go through TSA again each time we switch terminals there?
  8. My husband’s Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card comes with lounge access. It will be in a different terminal though.
  9. We are flying in a week and a half before our cruise and have apx a 7 hour layover at JFK. I’m not worried about missing the connecting flight. We have hours to hang out at JFK. We’re bringing books to read at the airport. Hopefully we can get on the lounge.
  10. We were planning on 3, but my friend told me two will be plenty.
  11. We have connecting flights. The first flight, Clt-JFK, is economy. JFK to Rome is premium economy. Can we get in the shorter, “priority lines” in Charlotte? They say you need to arrive 2 hours early for domestic flights and 3 for international. Do we need to arrive 2 or 3 hours early in Charlotte? I’ve never had a connecting flight before so I don’t know how all this works.
  12. We love Brixx! I can see us trying pizza everywhere. It’s one of my favorite foods!
  13. Hotel guests have to do this. You do need to reserve in advance. And you must go to the pool deck to do so. Seems so strange. The pool doesn’t look tiny online but maybe it’s small for the size of the hotel. 🤷‍♀️ I think we’re going to try to see Sant’Elmo. According to google maps it’s a long walk from our hotel though. I’m sure the hotel can provide suggestions on transportation. We have these two on our list now to see. Dh also added a couple others places if we still feel like doing something other than walking around. We may just head back to the hotel for a swim and then dinner and go to bed early because once we get to Athens, which is where we’re meeting up with our friends, we will be non-stop for several days. Yes, I’m sure! It doesn’t look that appealing, and I’ve heard it’s soggy, but we must try it!
  14. It looks like they either use the new port or tender. I have researched some. I know we can take a water taxi to town and then a bus to the beach. I was hoping we could just take a water taxi straight to the beach. Just seems more efficient, but if not at least we will get a chance to see the windmills.
  15. Do cruise ships dock at the old port or new port or does it depend on the cruise line?
  16. Can we take a water taxi from the port to this beach? Or would we need to take it to town and then take a bus to the beach?
  17. Noted. Thanks! No, we had not. Thanks for the suggestion! I know there’s a big castle but I believe it’s far from our hotel. (Not the one we can see from the hotel) Yes, I do recall thinking that would be interesting, especially a few days after visiting Pompeii. Our hotel charges 5 euro/hour to visit their pool and only allow so many visitors at a time. Is this common practice there?
  18. We will be spending one day in Naples, arriving around 12:30 or so. We’ve hired a driver to pick us up at our hotel in Amalfi and drop us off at our hotel in Naples, the Royal Continental. We have a 9:40 AM flight to Athens the next morning. Any suggestions on what we should do? We want to try their pizza. We’ve watched some YouTube videos but nothing jumped out as a must do. Things close enough to walk from our hotel would be ideal, but we would consider needing some sort of transportation. Would also consider a beach day if there is a nice one that would be close and easy to get to. (We will have already seen Pompeii)
  19. We have plans for every port on our Athens to Venice cruise except this one. I was planning on taking a bus to Paradise Beach but after watching a YouTube video, dh thinks it will be a big party scene so he’s not interested. I think that’s just at night but I could be wrong. I just want a pretty beach with amenities, that’s easy to get to. I also think Ornos Beach looks nice. Is one easier to get to than the other? I don’t see a beach transfer option on our NCL app. Any better ideas?
  20. We fly to Rome a week from today. I can’t believe it’s almost here now! It appears they have delayed getting a ETIAS until 2025. I do believe I need to do something to visit Venice though. We will be spending 2 nights in a hotel there so I believe we will be exempt from paying but I seem to recall I need to fill out some form or something. Is that all I need to take care of?
  21. I think I will package individual servings of my collegian powder and plan to drink coffee at our hotel so I will like it. I can always try Italian coffee as well but will still be caffeinated if I don’t care for it. I don’t like black coffee without my dark chocolate collegian powder added. Hmm
  22. We are splitting the cost with another couple, which helps.
  23. On the rare occasions I get something from Starbucks, I like a cafe mocha. I’m assuming that’s more like the caffé macchiato.
