AK,
Do you think that 11 hours is pretty close to accurate?
-
I need some help from those of you that have done this trip before. How many hours round trip is it typically, to travel from the Denali bus depot(WAC) to Wonder Lake and back? This is the transit bus trip.
-
Then maybe I should just turn it in and ask for a refund for my unpunched card.
-
I may send an email to customer relations at Princess cruises and voice my displeasure. It doesn’t make sense for new coffee cards to expire after only nine months, especially when others are using cards that are “years” old. Maybe I should just blacken out the expiration date!
-
We have two coffee cards we purchased while on Royal Princess in March 2018. One card has 6 punches left and the other card has not been punched at all. However, both cards have expiration dates of December 31, 2018. We planned on using them on our b2b Crown Princess cruises in March 2019. Are we going to be out of luck?
-
I sent an email to Princess customer relations earlier this week and received a call from them today. She confirmed there had been lots of calls and emails. She said she had made more than one hundred calls responding to customer emails and calls about the new dining times. So I know they are paying attention to our concerns.

Two, more than likely.

We have flown thru ATL too many times to count and I agree it is a very efficient operation. We’ve just had bad luck on waiting a few times.
-
Thank you, but it's no big deal. It's still a reasonably comfortable place to sit for the extra 20-30 minutes. It's not like I'm standing on a packed train for that length of extra time (which also sometimes happens).
What was irritating was sitting on an aircraft for two extra hours because the ground crew had gone on a wildcat strike literally minutes before we landed.
I hear you loud and clear. Flying and maybe even traveling in general, is nothing like it was 20 or 30 years ago. In some ways it's better today, but the customer service is long gone.
-
I guess that you have never been to DFW then.
We have flown thru DFW many, many times and virtually never had to wait any length of time for a gate to open. Guess we have just been lucky.
-
I sympathize for you if this is a common occurrence when you travel.
-
We are not boarding a cruise ship on the day we get to ANC.
ATL is the only airport in the world where we have had to wait for a gate to open for more than 20 to 30 minutes.
-
Flyer,
I agree ATL is an easy airport to navigate in. That is, once you get in the terminal. I have sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes or more waiting for a gate to open more than once.
-
FlyerTalker,
Thanks for the excellent description of MSP Terminal 1. 39 minutes is just to short for us. Just as the 45 minutes at ATL is WAY too short for us.
-
Folks, thanks for the info. We just prefer flying with Delta and flying thru MSP was one of the better routes. And we are both too old to want to run to the gates anymore!
-
Out of all of the Delta hubs I like MSP better than any others.
Airport is basically a big square. All delta flights are in the same terminal. There is a people mover.
Yes 39 min is not a lot of time and your in trouble if the the inbound is late and the connecting flight is on time. That said it is doable otherwise if you move quickly.
So given your experience with MSP, what would be the shortest connection time you would be comfortable with?
Thanks for the info.
-
This trip is in August, so winter weather isn’t likely. Could be thunderstorms though, but not usually at 0800 in the morning. Both flights are with Delta. I’m only seeking info about MSP. My DW and I have been thru multiple US airports and in Europe. We are experienced travelers but have never flown to MSP.
-
Domestic only
Delta Airlines
ICT=>MSP=>ANC
Arrival at 0806 on a Sunday morning with a 39 minute connection time.
-
Those of you who are experienced flyers though MSP, what is the shortest connection time you would be comfortable with?
This is assuming that the origin flight arrives on time.
Thanks for your help.

A really nice story. Thanks for posting.

We were in R735 on Royal in March of this year. The balcony was at least 100 sq ft. There was some light soot on the table and chairs each day. Our steward did a great job of keeping the balcony clean. The balcony was partially covered and we used it a lot. Never had any noise issues at night.

You just can’t hide stupid!

Nice start to your review and really good pictures Chris.

We have been in 3 different staterooms on the Royal Princess in the past two years and here is what we found: D424 on the hump had a balcony about 65 sq ft; R410 on the hump, balcony was about 80 sq ft; last stateroom was R735 premium aft, balcony was at least 100 sq ft. There are good sized balconies on the Royal class ships, you just have to look for them.
