  1. Good morning to all. We expect lots of rain and cooler temperatures today. The executive chef has requested soup and we are making ribbolletta if I can find fennel and leeks. Produce sections have been hit or miss lately. I have four adopted nieces and nephews and all but one have met their birth mothers and see them on occasion. We have been to the port and I remember enjoying the walk around the walled Old Town. I found the quote to be rather sad. I mentioned earlier in the week that we had a cleaning service come to help out. Well, I am a convert! It still looks very nice in here…..
  2. I am sorry to hear this Jack. It sounds like a difficult but necessary trip to see your sister.
  3. Good morning. I will gladly salute the nurses in our family. Tana is a nurse as well and is the first to say she makes a difficult patient! @dfish, your quilting retreat sounds like a not fun time and I am sorry. Thank you for the recipes today. We like the first one but will also make macaroni and cheese for our teenager. I have only been to China in my dreams but look forward to the pictures. Today I am thinking if Jacqui a lot.I always found the days after a funeral challenging mostly because people have to leave and get back to their own lives. @kazu we are here for you when needed.
  4. @kazu,Jacqui, thank you for allowing us to attend the service for Jose. It was moving and especially so when you spoke. Thank you
  5. Good morning to all.It is a bright sunny day here and going up to the sixties. I consulted with my executive chef and she votes for the Italian bean and greens soup.It is similar to our pasta and beans dish but this time we will use different beans. The instapot magically makes us dinner in no time. @StLouisCruisers,Sandi, I enjoy "Call the Midwife" also.I had watched all of the previous seasons with Tana during our late nights and got totally hooked. Cinco de Mayo is well cebrated around here. Our across the street neighbor owns a restaurant and brought over enchiladas and burritos for us on Saturday night. He said people have returned only minimally to indoor dining and take out remains the bigger part of their business. He told us he expected a busy day today. My prayers continue for Jacqui and Jose and their families during this most difficult time. Terry
  6. I am sorry to hear your DH is in the hospital but glad he participates in therapy. I hope the progress will be evident soon.
