I has really been a stark difference from the cruise last week. Britain has dropped mask mandates weeks ago and many feel really relaxed around others at this time. Many think there will be fewer cases this cruise because the surge of the last strain passed over Britain a couple weeks ago while the surge has just began on the American East Coast and has yet been barely seen in California.
I sure hope they are correct, but seeing a lot of the staff go missing and cryptic message from the Captain does concern me. With this variant I'm not really concerned of being infected but the impact it may have on our vacation is very concerning.
The only way to get from the Beautiful Terminal in Porto to town is a shuttle. The lines and they way they are packing the buses with unmasked guest forced us to just stay aboard and the ship.
We took a Celebrity tour this morning of Porto, a river cruise and a wine tasting. They informed us on the bus that Celebrity was incorrect when it told passengers no masks on busses. The government still requires masks on all public conveyance and we were required to wear one in the tourbus. Noone complained.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys. My wife and I will be on your 2nd trip. I could give you my room number and you could tell the folks who are in my cabin on the transatlantic to try to keep it clean please. 😅

I'm told by my travel agent my April 21st European cruise (first of the season) is at 70% capacity.
They may have different caps for Europe.

Thanks for the review. We are on the silhouette for its 1st European cruise On the 21st.
Other than the retreat have you noticed other improvements from the updating of the ship that you enjoyed?

Celebrity still hasn't decided if we need tests prior to our cruise leaving from the UK in 4 weeks. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on buying the binex tests. I will need 4, 2 to get on 2 to return to the US. It would be nice to know sooner than later.

Were you checking on a pc or mobile device? I wonder why you would have different tax amounts. I do not think those vary by cost I thought they were just based on ports. I just checked 2 different categories and the taxes are the same. Here is what I keep getting for this cruise. Not sure how you are getting the reduced rate.
I used my phone. I will say the price for Aqua has gone up again. It now matches this.

Are you sure this is the same sailing, the taxes aren't even the same as what I see.
Yes, same sailing.

What cabin did you select? I just tried and it is still giving the higher amt. Also that is still not $1559 pp, it's $1609.
Aqua class. They all said 1609

I have not had my back teeth, upper and lower for years. I can tell you from experience I have no issues eating steak or anything else for that matter. I got a bridge for the missig back teeth but never feel the need to use it. Have him eat normally prior to the cruise. He will get used to chewing with the teeth he has in no time.

Fifth grade reading level context clues tell you how to interpret the word "currently" in post #2. OP's questions are impossible to answer because there are currently no cruises to cite examples from.
I must have missed that 5th grade class on my way to my Doctorate. Thanks for being the arbiter of reading comprehension for the board.

Why do people on CC struggle to understand the word "currently"?
It is easy to interpret the statement two ways. It could mean there are no cruises underway now, it could also mean if you check the upcoming schedule there are no cruises currently planned. Don't be an internet grammar Police.

Currently there are no Celebrity cruises to France and Portugal.
Don't tell this to our fellow passengers on the Silhouette for the April cruise in 7 weeks. We have ports in France, Portugal and Spain.
I have not received any notifications from Celebrity of special requirements for our ports.

You need to find your roll call and post it there.

Sorry, I posted this before realizing this forum was.for UK cruise lines and I can't delete.
I am cruising with Celebrity from Southampton in late April. Celebrity requires a negative Covid antigen test 48 hrs prior. On a cruise I took out if Miami in December, I used the Celebrity recommended Binex test from optum since 48 hrs prior was Thanksgiving and other options would not be available. This is one option for this trip and they cost $100.
We are arriving in London one week before the cruise for sightseeing. What options in London would you recommend for the required test before heading to Southampton? Are they readily available or should I just bring the tests with? Thanks.
-
"You won't find them on the site. They're on the outside of the box"
It would be nice to know the expiration date of what I'm purchasing before buying it so I know if it will be good when I need it.
-
My cruise leaves Southampton on April 21st.
I will be spending a week in London prior to cruising. I cannot find expiration dates on the optum site for the binex tests I am considering ordering. Are these the best option for pre cruise testing in in London prior Is to the trip or are there easier options in London? I am happy we will no longer need tests after arriving in England from the US.

Google is your friend. 😁

We went on a 5 night cruise Thanksgiving weekend. We had a stated occupancy of 480. Before sailing the room availability on the website did not reflex that low capacity. I believe they block out at least some cabins.
One would think if they are limiting capacity they would publicize it as a selling point, but they are not disclosing that information for some reason.

Confused. PALL is premium alcohol, not classic. Perhaps you originally just had a waiter who was new and made a mistake?
You're correct. It was originally SALL and they changed it to PALL.

The tour bus picked us up at the terminal. Excellent tour, I might add. Here are some photos from the tour. The metal bridge was designed by Eifflel prior to doing the Eiffle tower, as a test of the arch structure.
