  1. We are cruising RCCL Liberty of the Seas leaving 11/22/14 & returning Thanksgiving day...I understand that this is a very busy time when cruising with kids but was wondering if anyone has ever dealt with the kids clubs maxing out on occupancy etc. This is our first cruise taking our girls (6 & 11) and I know they will enjoy the kids programs I am just curious how exactly it works? Do I have to schedule times that they will be there or can I just drop them off? I know that during meal times it is typically "closed" unless you made prior arrangements for them to eat with someone from the kid club staff...but any other info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  2. We typically always get off the ship when in port but are seriously considering staying on when we are in Belize next month...it seems that unless you take an excursion there there is not much else. The two main excursions are the ruins and cave tubing and we dont feel our girls would enjoy the hike for the tubing and would be bored with the ruins. The hubby is not up for leaving them in the kids club if we were to leave the boat either :-/

  3. We are taking our girls (7 & 11) on their first cruise over Thanksgiving. Qe have a stop in Cozumel and already have a reservation for Dolphinaris at 10:20 that morning, the rep said to allow 3 hours for this. Does anyome have any suiggestions for something we should do after this? Our ship does not leave port until 6:30...so we will have from 1:30/2:00 til 6:00...I was thinking of going to Chankanaab just for the beach and maybe some nearby shopping...any other suggestions or ideas of what we should check out that afternoon?

    Thanks!

  4. I don't think you can take your on pictures at Dolphinaris. I'm about to start a current thread since thus is several years old.

I called Dolphinaris and spoke with a rep before booking a week ago...I paid for 1 adult 2 children and 1 observer. I asked about taking pictures and the observer is allowed to take pictures. This is the main reason I am choosing Dolphinaris over Chanka. as there does not have to be an adult in the water with each child...this saves me money as I definitely want pictures but am travelling on a budget and cant see spending those astronomical rates for their "professional" pics.

  5. So, my DW and I are taking our first cruise with RCI next month. We booked an inside room because we wanted to save money to afford other things on the cruise.

Well, on a whim I decided to call RCI to ask a question about the new wine on board without a corkage fee. I can confirm that "Jeff" in customer service did say effective immediately you could bring 2 750ml bottles of wine on board with no corkage fee.

After that he asked if there was anything else he could do for me, and I jokingly said "yeah, get me in an aft balcony for not much more money." Well low and behold if he didnt look in his system and see an AFT BALCONY he could put me in for only $80 more total!

So while it might not be a true "free upgrade" I was STOKED to get it. :):):)

    Just had to share!

    Thanks for listening.

We are on the same sailing also sailing in an aft cabin...I managed to snag a coveted corner after...booked ours early in the year also.

    Congrats!

    31 DAYS!!!!!!!:D

  6. Is the observer area at Dolphinaris close enough to take pics of the kids?

I know this is old but I am trying to figure this out for our upcoming cruise...because we have 2 children we are choosing to do Dolphinaris over Chank. as they do not require an adult to swim for each child like Chank, this way I can take pics...but does anyone know if the "observers" areas are close enough to take decent pictures?

    Thank you!

  7. I have a family cruise scheduled on her the week of Thanksgiving and I cannot wait!!! This will be the first cruise that I have taken longer than 3/4 nights and such a better ship. The fact that I snagged a corner aft room to boot will make cruising in or on anything else difficult I am sure!:p

    67 DAYS:D

  8. I would go back to your TA - seems like they used some kind of discount, maybe, for your group? Don't think they could get group discount, but don't know. We had 7 cabins - 14 people. Not enough for the group discount, however 12 of the 14 had never cruised and the 2 that had got the $25 for each of the 12. We booked thru our TA, so TA can make this happen.

WOW $25 for each newbie, thats great! How many days was the cruise? I have a group cruise booked for next year and currently have 9 cabins/18 people booked and about 1/2 are newbies. Gonna have to ask my TA about this.

    Thanks!

  9. Also check pricing on 2 CONNECTING cabins....not "adjoining", but connecting! You can get some privacy, keep the kid's messes in their own space, and still have immediate access to them. Usually cheaper than a suite.

May be a stupid question...but whats the difference between connecting and adjoining? Curious...

  10. Mom of the year here got her motion sickness patches . While im at the doctors office the nurse asked about my children. Has anyone had problems with their children getting sea sick? Wondering if I should take them and see if the doctor can prescribed something for , my older kids (9,10 & 12). Or any advise on what I should bring for preventing motion sickness. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner I assumed children just wouldn't notice it.

I asked the pharmacist which version would be best for the kids when I was trying to find something for them...he gave me the Dramamine chewable orange tablets...had directions for kids doses on the back and they can be broken in 1/2 for younger kids. This is also a non-drowsy formula. I am beginning to stock up for our November cruise whenever my pharmacy puts out discount...lol!

    Good luck...have fun!

  11. I was checking cruises for Freedom of the seas. I don't know why they are all showing as N/A categories for every cruise from April-Nov 2015. The only think showing are insides and the prices are extremely high. I'm hoping it's just a glitch with the system.

I was having the same problem looking into Enchantment for May 2015 sailings also...

  12. I purchased on the first day of their last Kids sail free sale and two days later the cost for the same category cabin had gone up over $500! A friend of mine had a preiovously booked room for the Freedom and she called agent to get the deal and it saved her $900! I managed to snag the last corner after cabin on Liberty, glad I didnt hesitate :-)

  13. We've been in the Family OV on the Royal Caribbean Navigator--and have two booked on the Liberty for Thanksgiving.

It was a great room, roomy, good closet space, a neat bunkroom that the kids adored, and really big windows. The only downside was only one bathroom for six people.

It may be a little more difficult this time with 4 teens along (3 girls)!

I am also booked on the Liberty Thanksgiving week (leaving 11/22/14)...Got the amazing kids sail free deal too.

We scooped up a corner aft cabin. I have heard great things about these cabins regarding size etc. Was just curious if anyone knew the difference between one of the corner aft rooms and a Family Oceanview?

Also curious what an approximate cost difference might be...

    Thank you!
