  1. We are also booked for Feb 2017 cruise, but we booked back in March during a sale and then rebooked when they offered the "3 for.." Sale shortly there after. The price has gone up since then, I have been tracking it, it is no where near what we booked at.

Even though your ship looks empty now, I believe it will be full before you sale.

We sale every February and have found that the ships are usually ful.

  2. just read thru whole tread, laughing out loud..............

'.. anybody have the # for upgrade sales"

    "...it doesn't exist"

"...I just got through and got my upgrade"

" ...call this Norwegian cruise line #)"

    " " it doesn't exist"

    "...Norwegian # is in Miami"

    ".. it doesn't exist"

"... I got through and got my upgrade"

" ..Norwegian # is in Arkansas"

    "... it doesn't exist"

I got through and got my upgrade'

I know I modified all the statements, but this was just to funny.

by the way congrats on your upgrade deal, I will try to find the # on my own, I really understand why would not post it here.

    still laughing...

  3. first if that is all we ever have to worry about, life would be great, however we all worry about everything anyway, so with that said let me add to what SoCal.. said earlier...

As far as worrying about your cabin, if I understand you correctly, and you have already been assigned an IA for your IF guarantee, what I would now be worried about is being "upgraded" again to an OV in a lousy location. I would ask Princess (or your TA) to mark your upgraded cabin "no upgrade" from now on. IIRC, they will do it once you've been assigned.

you really may get upgraded again, the only other time we had a QTY room (we have one this time also) was 12 years ago and our room was changed between the time we left Mass. and the time we got to the ship. luggage tags all wrong etc..

as for worrying, we also have a category 1F for our cruise leaving in 52 days and still don't have a cabin assignment, how much worrying should we be doing??? well we will joining other family members who booked a while ago and really we will be glad to just get on the ship somewhere (Princess don't read that last line)

  4. I don't consider myself a coffee slob. I like Dunkin Donuts, Folgers, Hardees/Carl Junior , Starbucks, Lavazza and a few others. But I absolutely can't stand Bojangles or Maxwell House.

So, what would you compare Princess coffee to ?

I have the same taste for coffee as you, add McDonalds coffee to the like category, but totally agree about what you don't like,

I have no problem with the coffee on Princess, but our TA has been including a Coffee card for each of us lately (along with other perks) so I have been enjoying my morning "Americano". But have no problem with the coffee in Horizon court.

note: we all have different taste buds but anyone who doesn't drink their coffee ...BLACK NO SUGAR... cannot give a true comment on the quality/taste/flavor of coffee.... this in no way is stating what I am saying on coffee is right, only trying to give you an answer based on your acceptable coffee taste.

  5. Ok my CC story, last year on the Regal, I used my shipboard account at the Casio. Like all merchants Princess entered "pending" charges to my card until the end of the cruise when they actually charged my CC. Here was the problem, they did not remove the "pending" charges until 2 weeks after we got home. Result was when I went out to eat in Ft. Lauderdale my CC was rejected becuase I was over my CC limit, when I was only at half, because Princess was double claiming my money. Trust me this year that will be cleared up before I get the ship!

  6. NRWPA,

Thanks for the response and, yes, I was referring to Princess. I was pretty sure that the OBCs would be combinable. I usually book through an online TA. They always have better prices than Princess direct. I talked to them today and they confirmed that they can take another 11-12% off after the casino rate is applied. They are also offering a $60 OBC but it's not clear yet whether that is combinable. I appreciate the info about the casino cash. I hope that's how it works for me, too. So much easier than dealing with free play vouchers or chips. Just get the cash and go to the table. :)

    Thanks again,

    Rob (Sandy's DH)

Hi Rob, which cruise did you finally choose, we had same offer and were previously booked for Nov. 6, 2016, and luckaly it was one of the weeks In this offer and they just applied it, I then transferred it our regular TA and she then added her perks as well. If you are on the nov. 6th cruise, let me know.

  7. I agree with the OP's opening message.

We booked our Feb,2017 cruise last march, there was a "true" sale for that cruise later and we rebooked back in Sept. I have been regularly following the website for additional "sales". So the OP was correct, when the 'Sun Drenched" sale was posted for this specific cruise..the price was more then the day before. However I can understand the issue..Princess plans the dates and cruises that will go on sales well in advance. But demand on individual cruise at the time of the sale will dictate what the rates will be. Thus a cruise that was scheduled for a sale price may get posted as an increase because of demand. Princess would be wise to remove the "sale' banner on ALL those individual cruises that did not get reduced. I say ALL because I see some cruises that do not have the "sale" banner for a specific week even though the other 3 weeks for the same cruise have the banner.

BTW our Sept price is $800 and free Gratuities cheaper than the current "Sale" price for our Feb 2017 cruise.

  8. You can stack your OBC when they are the following -

    Future Cruise Credit - 17-44 Days $150 Balcony/Mini/Suites; $125 Inside/Outside

    11-16 Days $100 Balcony/Mini/Suites; $75 Inside/Outside

    7-10 Days $50 Balcony/Mini/Suites; $25 Inside/Outside

    3-6 Days $25 Balcony/Mini/Suites; $15 Inside/Outside

    Military Benefit - 15 Days or More - $250

    7-14 Days - $100

    1-6 Days - $50

Shareholder Benefit - Same as Military

You get Future Cruise Credit (FCC) by putting down $100 cruise deposit while you are on your cruise.

You get a military benefit if you are a veteran and after sending Princess your DD214. (You send it once and Princess keeps it on record and automatically applies it every cruise - just make sure to check your paperwork - Princess has been known to update their systems and lose this info.)

Shareholder Benefit - Buy 100 shares of Princess Stock and provide Princess with Proof of ownership. You have to show this proof every cruise.

My husband and I travelled to Hawaii on a 15 day cruise. - We had $200 FCC. $250 Military, $250 Shareholder and $200 from our TA. $900 OBC woohoo! And yes I managed to spend it all. lol

I don't know specifics about Military benefits BUT Shareholders benefits are not the same as stated above, the correct amounts are as follows:

    6 days or less =$50

    7-13 days =$100

    14 days or longer = $250

    direct from the 2017 form

  9. If you called Princess about the AMEX offer, no wonder he was clueless.

The offer is by AMEX alone and there is no reason for anyone at Princess to even know it exists.

my bad...I did call Amex (not Princess) I just typed Princess in by mistake..

LMaxwell you said you gave them the "ID number" I assume you got that number from your wife's offer...If so can you let us know what the offer # was so others can call ?

    thanks

  10. thanks for "live from" it has been a blast. we will be on the regal in 7 days and cant wait....I "WILL" find the lamb...missed it last year.

also would like info on using UBER when you get a chance, thanks

we will be heading to the Westin on the beach from the ship and know that there is a marathon running in front of the Hotel in the AM, so traffic is going to be tough all over Ft. Lauderdale with only 1 lane open on the main drag.

  11. that is called marketing....

we are booked on a 14 day in 2017 that has a lot of rooms marked Sold, but if you look at the individual 7 day legs, the rooms that were marked sold ar available on the 7 day ...

if the two 7 day trips are booked as B2B the cost is more, but different cabins are available.

Call your TA if there is cabin you specifically want, your TA should be able to call Princess and get it for you if they holding it and not actually sold, (which is often done)

    hope that helps.
