  1. Several years ago while placing my deposit for a FFC on board, I asked the pPrincess person working the Future Cruise office if it was more economical to book with Princess or a TA? Her response to me was it depends on the TA you use. She said let me look at what your TA does, and went into her computer after answering who the TA was that I usually use. She had historical data for TA's. (Interesting). She came back and said that I was better off using my TA, she said this particular TA books your cabin and charges you a rate for 2 catagories lower ( presently have a BC cabin at a BE rate). She did not have access to the other perks that my TA provides like additional OBC and wine and Specialty restaurants fees. Like Pam and others have said ask other passages who they use and then compare, that is how We got connected and have been using for 10 years.

  2. Note!!! OP mentioned this was a 2015 that is 2015 booking!!! No way that is a non-refundable deposit! If for some SLIM reason it was...way would anyone book something that far in advance that is not refundable? A lot can happen in 1 1/2 years.

  3. We try to sail every Feb. In the Caribbean, generally eastern or southern and have found the seas very calm for the most part. Some movement when at night the one time we were "speeding" trying to make an early docking. We have usually been on the Lido or Rivera deck. My DW is very sensitive to the seas and she has not had a problem. First cruise she brought every remedy that anyone suggested and was very apprehensive, but them she made me book another cruise before we got off the ship.

  4. I hope you never have to commute in Manhattan. My wife travels in the subways and buses. It is virtually impossible not to brush up against someone. Not only are you shoulder to shoulder and ass to ass with the other passengers, sometimes you are breathing in their face. My point is that this is so common that nobody feels the need to apologize which probably carries over in other crowded situations.

The "real" world is in a hurry and can be rude, Cruising is not near the real world, but for those that don't have to mass-commute and may have not been 'exposed" to the rudeness and hurry that is out there. I have run into my share of rude people on a cruise and it botters my DW more than me, because I see it every day but a lot worse then this.

Note to OP people have a bad habit of backing up a lot (including me). When someone is backing up and going to bump me and I have no where to go I gently touch them to let them know I am there. I don't say sorry but expect them to say it because they where going to bump me. If I backed into them I would say apologize. We expect to see rude behavior and adjust accordingly, especially on elevators, and see it as a reminder on we should NOT behave ourselves. However, people standing in front of doors trying to get on before letting people get off REALLY gets to me though, and sometimes I may make no effort to avoid them when I am trying to get off..

    Call me :quilty"

Note: we also travel with my older sister who needs stadilizing when she walks and find people very helpful.

  5. Ok 10:30 is makeable, but do you really need that stress, 2 yrs ago we we're walk offs and in no hurry so spent morning in the internet room, watching people panic because even though we were in port at 6:30am nobody got off until 9:30 because the port put the ship at dock that was meant for a differnt sized princess ship and they could not get the walkways to match up until then.

As for cruise lines, some people are missing things they enjoyed on other Princess ships, but if you haven't been on Princess you will not know that, so enjoy yourself on those things that are offered on whatever ship you chose.

  6. LOL Skeeter..Simialar thing happen to us a few years ago when I had my Wife throw for the first time. Our initial buy in was only 200 and betting smaller than you , 45 minutes later walked away with over 3K. Wife was had on her Red sox shirt and NY players tipped her when she was done! She tried throwing once since then and crapped out right away and has retired!

  7. Investment!!! Price of stock today is 35.77. Yearly dividend is 2.8%. If you cruise once a year for 7 days, you get another $100. That is another 2.78%. For a total of @ 5.6% on you investment of $3600. Can you get a CD returning 5.6%, not today, well maybe but it would be with amore risky investment then this. I think it is not a bad deal. If you cruise more your return is more. If the stock goes up your dividend % of original investment does not change. Do the math.
