I'm doing a 5-day on the Elation next month. Goes to Half Moon Cay...can't wait to be back there.
-
Umm I'm gone to need a little more food porn from you......
My bad....I never ate in the dining room for dinner. I'll try to get more food porn on my cruise next month [emoji6]

What's those on the table in the center
It's an iPad that displays the scores and sports news. They didn't start working until halfway through our cruise
-
I had to stop reading and just tell you I am so happy to find your report!!! I was excited when I saw it was you! Sorry to hear about your Dad =(
Thank you, in advance, for doing this great trip report!!! =)
Thank you. I hope you continue the rest of my review. And thank you for your kind words about my dad
-
Thanks Brianna. I don't check on this stuff as much now because we are in "dry dock." :(:( Our lst cruise was on the very ancient Celebrity Horizon. I am hoping someday we will be able to do a CCL Horizon! :DEnjoy your countdowns! ;)
Oh nobody likes a personal "dry dock" [emoji15][emoji15] thank you. I'm sure you'll cruise on the Carnival Horizon [emoji6]
-
First I've heard of a ship named Horizon! :o I see you are really enjoying Patti's retirement!!! ;)
The Vista 2 ship has already started being built in Italy...it was announced last week that the ship will be named the Carnival Horizon.
I'm not at all surprised by the name because one of the dining rooms on the Vista is called the Horizon dining room
-
Bravo Brianna on another awesome review!!! Looking forward to the next one!! Btw, the Horizon TA is on our list for 2018. :)
Thank you Jeff. I have done an inaugural cruise so the next one on the bucket list is to do a Transatlantic cruise. I love those sea days
-
Great review as always Brianna.
We are in stateroom 8375 in September so will be looking out for Kendrick !
We have done a couple of inaugurals ourselves, so may see you on the Horizon TA in 2018 !
Thank you. You will love the Vista. Kendrick was on deck 2 in the Family Harbor cabins. So I doubt that you'll have him but you never know...I'm not sure how often they move around.
I will be on the Carnival Horizon transatlantic cruise for sure

Just starting your latest awesome review...Oh the thrill you must have had seeing the ship sail in from your hotel room!! I ❤️ port view rooms! And the Italian grapes...I can still taste them; they're unlike any others, and golf ball in size is no exaggeration!
Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Oh when we heard the ship horn blow...we both sprinted for a balcony in our hotel. It was a beautiful sight...I got it on video.
Oh yeah you're right the Italians take their grapes very serious [emoji12][emoji524][emoji23][emoji524]

That excitement of cruising never goes away.

I'm glad to hear you love the ship! I was getting a little concerned looking at some of the recent reviews in the review section here. I am still a bit of a cruise newbie but am quickly becoming obsessed. After our first cruise last year, I thought a cruise would be our yearly vacation in May but I found myself not being able to wait until next May after going on the Glory this past May, so I booked the Elation in November since the price was cheaper than a weekend trip anywhere and JAX is driving distance for us.
I think I prefer the bigger ships and will really miss Guy's Burger and the Dive In Movies, but for a trip on a budget I can't imagine anything better than being on a boat and hanging out in the Bahamas. I hope one day to have a list of past and booked cruises as big as yours :D
Oh you will love the Elation. It's a great ship. Sure I love a Guys Burger but the Elation has a grill.
Cruising is an addiction. I took my first one in 2004 with my parents. It doesn't matter if it's your first, second, or 25th cruise I still get so excited to be onboard.
-
Great review Brianna! We were on the Inaugural with you. It was a pleasure meeting you after reading all your fabulous reviews.
If you want to do a transatlantic, there are still cabins on the Vista TA this October. We love TAs....love those sea days.
This was our first Inaugural and would love to do another one too but TAs are addictive. This will be our 5th one.
Oh I wish I could do the transatlantic...pretty sure my boss would frown on that one
But I will be doing the Carnival Horizon transatlantic cruise in 2018
-
I enjoyed your review Brianna, as always, but I have to admit to missing some good MDR food porn:o. Still, thanks for your review, and look forward to your next one:)
Thank you. The next one will be in September...I have a cruise on the Elation with Josh and two other friends
-
Really enjoyed this review and super excited to see you are going back on the Elation in September! I am booked on the Elation in November and there aren't many detailed reviews of the Elation, especially since moving to the Jax.
Thank you. I love the Elation. This will be my third time on that ship.
We have the Half Moon Cay and Nassau itinerary.

Ok everyone so my review on the Carnival Vista Inaugural Cruise is complete. It was a wonderful cruise...I would do another inaugural cruise again but I think before I did another inaugural I would like to do a Transatlantic so I am thinking that when the "Carnival Horizon" ;) comes out I will take the Transatlantic cruise. I love those sea days.
My Final Thoughts on the Carnival Vista.....
- We never really encountered any lines for meals.
- We never ate dinner in the Main Dining Room. We had early dining but never ate in the Horizon Dining Room
- LOVE LOVE LOVE Cucina Del Capitano for lunch and dinner
- LOVE the new way that they have the Mongolian Wok with the menu and sit down service
- LOVE LOVE LOVE the Dreamscape in the Atrium
- LOVE LOVE LOVE the Red Frog Pub and Brewery
- Next time I cruise on the Vista will be in the Caribbean and I would like to do the Outdoor seating at Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse
- Liquid Lounge area is OK for shows but was very cramped for the Diamond/Platinum Party
- The new American Rocks show was FANTASTIC...definitely the best I have seen onboard in a long time
- Love and Marriage show remains my favorite show onboard
- Love the new Havana area on the Vista
- The Fun Shops NEED to improve. There just isn't a good selection of Carnival Logo apparel
- LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Cherry on Top shop with outdoor seating with ice cream
- Alchemy Bar drinks are overrated...in my opinion
- The swimming pools NEED to have steps to enter the pools
- The Sports Deck is awesome with the SkyRide, Mini Golf, ClubHouse, Ropes Course....so many activities
- The iMax theatre (we never made it there) is an awesome feature
- The Serenity Deck with Garden Creations salad Bar is a great feature
I would cruise on the Carnival Vista again. I hope you all enjoyed my review on the Carnival Vista. Thanks Again for coming along for the ride
- We never really encountered any lines for meals.

Yeah, I moved to Florida, for my husband's job last year. We will live here till 2017/18 but then who knows?
I like it here so far, I got used to the humidity and I love how everyone is laid back!! Life is too short and Im glad you made it here:)
Yeah it has been a transition but I am enjoying it. I have a great job and have met some wonderful friends at my new job

Total bummer in that you did not like France.....:(
I so loved France that I am planning to go back maybe next spring, I was in Paris so not sure if that had something to do with it but the food was so damn good. I understand about cruising for the ship but when in those Mediterranean ports would call me off.....:D
So glad you had a good time and pedro made it back home I hope....
Yep Pedro made it back home. He is ready for his next cruise on the Carnival Elation on September 10th...Pedro better be ready for the cruise on the Elation because we are getting the Cheers package....haha
-
Kendrick was my steward on the Liberty and I have to agree he is the best. I can understand why he is now on the Vista. By the way this was a great trip report.
Thank You. Yeah he was a great room steward
-
The morning of disembarkation had arrived in Barcelona, Spain. We disembarked which was very painless. We were off the ship and in a cab headed to our post cruise hotel by 8:30 am
We stayed at the Barcelo Saints hotel in Barcelona. It was above the Train Station
Our view from the Hotel.
We were in Barcelona for the night and we flew out the next day.

It was a quiet night up by Guys Burgers
Apparently Marseilles is wanting their own Hollywood sign. They either forgot how to spell it or they are waiting on the other letters....haha
As we were eating dinner this awesome guy come over to say Hello. Anyone who has cruised with him will recognize him...this is Butch Begovich. Butch works ashore now in the Miami office for Carnival as the Entertainment Coordinator for all ships. I had never had the pleasure of cruising with him but he remembered me from the other night when I gave John Heald the chicken hat. He is such a great guy
These two were our room stewards all week....this is Kendrick and Ekaterina. At the beginning of the week Kendrick told us to call him Ken. So Laura and I nicknamed these two Ken and Barbie...haha
They were without a doubt the best cabin stewards that I have encountered in my 24 cruises with Carnival
After we took our pictures with our wonderful room stewards...Laura and I headed into our cabin to pack up our cabin.
This was a sad time. Packing up to go home is never nearly as much fun. We got packed up and put our bags out to be picked up
-
We were late leaving Marseilles because a Carnival excursion bus was almost 2 hours late getting back to the port so I took that opportunity to get some pictures of the port.
The Port of Marseilles is an industrial port
-
One thing that we had not yet had onboard and there were rumors swirling onboard that they weren't having one but Carnival pulled it together on the last day. We had our Diamond/Platinum Party on the last day. The party was at 5:00 pm. Carnival changed the time on it to give me people more time who still ashore in Marseilles
The Diamond/Platinum Party was in the Liquid Lounge....not a good place for it. There were too many of us
Some people love and hate the Liquid Lounge. For shows I like it but for events like this it sucks because there are too many people moving around to get anywhere.
Laura and I ended up going upstairs to get a better view...and more drinks
Captain Giovanni
So once the party was over Laura and I headed out to Lido to get some dinner. As you can see we took a few drinks to go. As we were leaving the upper level of the lounge I asked for an Angry Orchard and he handed me two. I had already drank one....haha
The bar waiter upstairs in the lounge was one of our buddies from the Red Frog Pub so he made sure that we stayed properly hydrated
-
We had a fun day in Marseilles but I was happy to be back onboard...and we were greeted in the Atrium with a new design on the dreamscape
These are on every deck by the elevators....definitely a nice feature to know where you are and where you want to go next onboard
-
After our train tour we stopped off at a little cafe to have a glass of wine
French translator...
I will NOT miss Coca-Cola light
Oh Madam Vista I have missed you
Nice AFT madam Vista
How do you carry your sign and sail card?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I always wear my sail and sign card on a lanyard.
I don't want to fumble around trying to get my card out of my pocket
