  1. We leave home 23 days before the second cruise. That might be iffy, no?
  2. No No, this is very helpful. We just have never done a side by side, so I was unfamiliar with that procedure..good point about the luggage tags. I didnt realize that it might be an option in the terminal. thank you
  3. Yes, i will be getting the internet package for cruise #1 . My biggest concern was printing my luggage tags for the second cruise while still onboard the first cruise . Will they charge me to print the luggage tags and cruise boarding pass? Checking in for our post cruise flight, , if i don't get the internet package for that cruise, I am keeping fingers crossed for enough cell service to check in online while in Half Moon Cay. I do have SW flight but their early bird check in is $25 a piece, which is crazy, but for piece of mind it might be worth it. I hate the middle seats !
  4. When onboard, does HAL offer an airline check in (or HAL side by side cruise check in) online and boarding pass or luggage tag (if for the next cruise)printing service? If so, does the cost vary by ship? Thank you
  5. We have a car reserved in Hilo with Enterprise. The rental is booked in downtown Hilo, about 3 miles from the cruiseport. I have not determined yet if there is a shuttle but they would be a short uber /taxi ride away.
  6. We do the $20 laundry bag every 5 days. I found that the key is to pack as many thin lightweight clothes as possible. This also helps with airline weight limitations. It is amazing how much you can stuff inside a bag, especially when clothing is not bulky. And the perk of any laundry package is that later, when back home and even years later, you will find laundry labels on items of clothing and this is a reminder to book another cruise asap .😀
  7. Thank you all! his best bet is to time it at an internet cafe or Starbucks in one of the ports. Pre-purchasing premium is definitely the way to go for wifi.
  8. Does anyone know if there is public wifi in the Pier 2 Cruise ship terminal in Honolulu or nearby the terminal? or maybe a coffee shop or Internet cafe nearby? Thank you
  9. One of our party will need to do a live chat with a class he teaches back home. We will be on the Circle Hawaii cruise from San Diego. What can we expect for his ability to have an uninterrupted chat with students enroute to HI? thank you
  10. I live in Maine and have been to BH many many times. I have been there when there are 4 ships in port at the same time. Unbelievably crowded when this happens. The vote was split and local businesses will suffer for sure. I would have rather seen them limit the number of cruise ships to one ship at a time rather than the number of passengers. I was glad to see that a similar referendum in Portland did not pass.
  11. Oh, that is interesting...so on the March cruise you should be able to choose 6 bottles as credited..I do hope that works out for you!
  12. A question has come up. We will be doing side by side cruises. Disembarking The K and boarding the Zaandam on the same day. we will have purchased a wine package on the K. In the unlikely but possible of event of having an unopened bottle remaining on the last day on the K. Will they mark it as purchased so that I can bring that unopened bottle onto the Z without having to pay a corkage fee?
  13. We have never purchased HAL excursions, but we have pre-purchased 2 excursions for an upcoming cruise. My question is this.. I do not know if excursions costs count towards mariner credits, but if they do, can I, once on board, ask them to apply the purchase of these and /or other pre-purchased item costs to my mariner account? Thanks
  14. This was extremely helpful to watch. Thank you for posting!
  15. We will be disembarking one ship and boarding another (same cruise line, same day) in SanDiego. How close will the ships piers be? Will we use the same cruise terminal for both? Just wondering how far we will have to schlep our luggage. Thanks
  16. we loved the Pan Pacific..so convenient and the staff was wonderful . they took our luggage to the ship . so very convenient.
  17. Yes, thank you. i asked here because I thought i should be more specific to HAL.
  18. Believe it or not we have never flown out on the same day as disembarkation. Disembarking on a Saturday in FLL, with 6 ships in port, what is the earliest time advised to safely book a flight . Also, I always book my own, but in this case are we better off if HAL books the flight? Thanks
  19. Hello, We will be disembarking a in Fort Lauderdale . We are not familiar with this port. In your experience what is the earliest time to book a flight home on that same day...we have never gone from ship to airport before. thanks
  20. It is my understanding that once. You are on board you can use your OBC but not before the sailing date.
