  1. well, they would not let my TA add the aarp to my remaining 2023 booking because she had already applied the teacher obc amd you can only apply one of the 2 promotions. They did allow her to apply the aarp to my current 2024 booking, which was booked onboard just a few weeks ago. also both the Aarp and teacher forms must be renewed each year...the expiration date is the day of original approval for both programs.
  2. My TA was told ny HAL that AARP OBC was not combinable with the Teacher OBC. They applied the AARP because it was greater amount than the teacher. This was on an existing booking .
  3. My Teacher OBC was applied to 4 bookings this year. In order to have to applied to my one booking for next year (so far) I was required to reapply , which I did today and got my verification pretty promptly.
  4. I just asked my TA to find out how to get this offer ..I have 2 bookings coming up and we shall see!
  5. Can you elaborate on specifics of negative reviews ? I would like to think that a company like Costco would stand by a good product. i looked it up on Squaremouth and found 3 positive reviews. I am comfortable with my decision to use Covermore. Hopefully we will never need to use it!
  6. I am happy it is working out for you. I hope that none of us ever need to use this insurance!! Although I do have my favorite TA from elsewhere, we will consider using Costco for booking in the future for the added benefits.
  7. On this note....We are doing B2B (first b2b for us) on the Noordam with turnaround day in Whittier. While in Whittier we want to take an excursion with a local boat touring company. This should not affect disembarking (I dont think) as the excursion leaves at noonish but it does not return until 6:45 PM. Ship is scheduled to leave at 8PM. How will that affect the turnaround process that you mention above and our desire to take this excursion. Will this be a problem for us? Thanks, Joan
  8. I will be buying a wine package on an upcoming cruise. Will they care if I give one of the bottles to a friend to keep in the mdr for her dinner?? I am guessing that it should be no big deal, right? Thx
  9. I am looking for a post cruise tour in Vancouver that includes airport drop off. We do not need to be at the airport until 5 PM. the ship post cruise excursions drop off at the airport way too early. The other option is a hotel day room and then a cab to the airport. Do many hotels offer day room at a rate lower than a full night? That we have never done before. thanks for any help.
  10. Very good point! Perfect! Thank you!
  11. Thank you. This excursion is not a ship excursion , which is why I am concerned a bit. by the way, we enjoyed your blog about this cruise in Whittier.
  12. Greetings! We will be on a back to back cruise with Whittier ,AK , being our turnaround port. We are scheduled to depart Whittier at 8PM. we are planning on doing the Phillips 26 Glacier cruise, which runs from 12:30-6:45 PM. I know this is a small cruise port and looking at the timing and wondering if this is cutting it too close for our 8PM departure. there is a shorter tour if need be. Does anyone know how close the Phillips docking is to the cruise terminal? thank you
  13. We plan to treat our travel companions with a dinner at the Pinnacle for a special occasion. Will we be able to charge all four dinners to our account? thank you
  14. Not necessarily. We booked the VOV when onboard but had to cancel (before final payment. We "transferred" the booking to another cruise and we lost some of the extra OBC. In moving forward I think I will purchase future cruise deposits on board rather than booking a voyage.
  15. We have been to Alaska twice and I agree with you 100%!! Hat and gloves as well for Glacier Bay day.
  16. Thanks so much..it was a bit stressful getting them booked but now it is done!
  17. Thank you all. She was was actually given this misinformation by a HAL rep, which is what set off the red light. It is all set now and HAL confirmed that it can be done, the first HAL rep was clearly wrong.
  18. We plan to do an Alaska cruise back to back...Vancouver to Whittier and Whittier to Vancouver. My TA has information stating that we cannot book a back to back because of the Jones Act. Has anyone ever encountered this? Thanks

  20. Hi Cindy, yes, you have to call them direct for the quote if the trip was not booked through Costco. They have 2 insurance programs, one for trips booked thoughnCostco and another for trips that you have booked elsewhere. Slight price difference slight difference inbenefit amount but still a better deal than any others I have found. the phone number is listed in the Costco travel website unter "travel insurance". good luck
  21. Are you sharing a cabin? My understanding is that everyone in your cabin has to purchase HIA package. If that is the case, wouldn't your SO have their own package? Or are you suggesting that you give one of your excursions to him/her as an extra?
