Nice.  Appears more reasonable. Interesting also as the Ascent was just days different.

We likely wouldn't have "cancelled" if such was the case as we wanted the grandkids to enjoy the thrill park, zip line and then the rest of the island, and couldn't believe we had to also pay just to watch.  😲  😉

Not sure when you are going, have you checked prices lately. They are having a flash sale yesterday and today.

that sounds reasonable..Are food and drink, loungers and float mats  availble there?

But we want tranquility NOT a music thumping party.. Had enough of that at the outdoor pool on ASCENT

whats the most quiet area ?

So the adult area has a couple more options for food, Pizza empanadas and coconut shrimp, Loungers and float mats are available. The pool area will be thumping, as there is a DJ, so if you like pool this is where you could suffer, to the left and right away from the pool it won’t be as loud. Chill island a south beach seems like a better option for no DJ. or if you want to pay for the beach club. Beach club is higher end, think of retreat, with lobster and filet but with the $100 plus price tag.

Chill island. We were going to snorkel and that’s the beach near the snorkel shack. Winds were too high and water was too dangerous to go further then a few feet out. Then we went to oasis lagoon pool for the swim up bar.

How was the crowd at the pool, I know by swimup bar area seems to be packed. My partner gets a little overwhelmed when people are practically on top of you.

My family and I are doing a side by side out of Ft Lauderdale in June.  First on the Disney Magic and then on the Celebrity Beyond.

I don’t imagine we will be allowed to remain on the Disney ship long and will probably be off around 9am.

It does not look like it is walkable from Disney to Celebrity so some time will be taken by getting an Uber or two to get the four of us and our stuff.

Realistically we might be at the Celebrity terminal at 9:30-10:00am.

If it matters we are sailing in a sky suite and all have Retreat access.

Will they be ready to let us in the terminal that early?  I know they will be disembarking their own ship full of people.

Terminal doors to let people come in started around 10am, as you are in a suite they will bring you to a different room. They started letting us on just about 11am.  this was 2 weeks ago on Ascent.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The OBC I get from my TA has always been non-refundable.

If you have any non refundable obc it came from the cruise line, through your TA. My TA breaks it down. This has always been the case with me for over 20 years.

While this may be true in your case, in our experience, some TAs offer refundable OBC and some issue non-refundable OBC.  @gvgseg should verify with their TA.

Non-refundable which always comes from the cruise line will 90% of the time will always show up on your account when you login to Celebrity, this credit can be used toward pre-purchase products prior to your cruise. I have never seen refundable credit show up till you board the ship on my account.  Yes always check with your TA when booking where the OBC is coming from. My TA always breaks it down.

FYI:  It is our understanding that, if you want the "remaining $308" as a "rebate check", you need to let your TA know this BEFORE you embark on the cruise.  If your gratuities (or any other charges onboard) exceed the $120 of OBC, your credit card on file will be charged, but any amount over the $120 will be offset by the rebate check (money in your pocket) after you return home.  If you take the entire $428 as OBC, you MUST use it onboard or you lose it.  Hope this wasn't too confusing.

Any additional obc from a TA is refundable, so the $308 is. Leave it un the account and it will be refunded to your credit card on file with the cruise ship, you do not lose it. I just did this on Ascent 2 weeks ago, I saw a refund on my credit card 2 days later. I am cruising in 4 weeks and getting $195 non refundable and $508 refundable. The ta also gave me the option to issue a check after the cruise, I just tell them to add the total for on board. The $195 will be used first, if any left over comes back to me.

How do you share a hotspot without using data?

I Have a Samsung s23 ultra.  I shutoff data roaming, login to the ship WiFi, then I am able to toggle my hotspot button on the phone. At this point I put my phone in airplane mode and my WiFi and hotspot stays on.

    Just put in airplane mode

Airplane mode is important, but if you forget, The most important part is to have Data roaming off if you forget to put it in Airplane mode. Data rack up the phone bill.

    Hi Jim

Is it possible to use two devices at the same time on one account - literally at the same time?

Only if you have a Samsung phone, its possible to Share your wifi connection through hotspot, Apple phones NO.

Lobster dinner in Luminae two weeks ago was terrible it was removed from shell with lots of spices that we didn’t care for . Waiter offered us lobster from mdr and brought her two nice sized lobsters tails at no charge but we were in an upper suite .

Funny I went to Blu on Ascent last week on lobster night as they also had fillet being served, made a nice surf and turf, so glad I did this over luminae. Luminae was not my cup of tea and only ate their for one night.

Generally Sky Suites receive an e-mail with questions from the shoreside concierge.   Upper suites get a phone call.

Luminae does not take reservation.  You just show up when you wish to dine.  Rarely there will be a wait and they ask you to go to the Retreat and will call you when your table is ready.

The shows do not have reservations but on Chic night there is reserved seating up until 5-10 minutes before the show.   The butlers will be there to let you into the reserved roped of seating area.

I have received an email and also a phone call. I have a sky suite on Ascent the end of this month, I got the call 1 month prior to my cruise

We are peasants who did a move-up to a lowly SS on Ascent at the end of January. We mostly wanted the bigger room and balcony, but were prepared to suffer the horrors of having to go to Luminae and enjoying the Retreat deck. Oh the pain!  I read the indignant Butler threads here and was prepared never to see a butler. We did see him, but never utilized his services because like I say we are basically poor, low-class plebeians. Also he was running his feet off for the high-and-mighty ones on our deck.

I liked the Retreat deck mainly because it was quieter than the steerage pool decks. The only time we couldn't avail ourselves of an umbrella was when it was too windy. Drinks were offered by exceptionally pleasant and helpful servers on a regular basis. Perhaps we got good service despite  being the scum-of-the-earth occupants of a SS, but because we were polite and friendly to the servers? I dunno...it's hard to tell? although watching some of the entitled, unbelievably rude people there treating the staff like lowly peons was horrifying and illuminating.

We did go to Luminae on the first night, and listened to the woman next to us criticizing the food, berating the staff and then wondering aloud to her husband if Future Cruises would be able to cancel their next booking in the Emperors Suite (or whatever) and move them to Silver seas (or whatever) It really spoiled the experience for me, although I enjoyed the food and the service. The rest of the time we did speciality dining or went to the MDR. We went to Luminae for breakfast on disembarkation day and it was so good. I wish I hadn't  let Lady Muck ruin it.

I like to balance value with style. I would definitely use Retreat again if the price was right, but am also happy to stay with the lesser classes in basic staterooms.

    Love your response.

  15. Go for it, once assigned, if it is in an area you do not like, check to see what’s available by doing a mock sailing for the same Category level, and try to get that room. A good TA will be able to do this. I just book a Sky suite and was assigned an obstruction room, called the TA and had the room changes.
