1. A while back I was booking a JS with a TA that had a great price. No wow sale, Tuesday sale or anything like that. Just one of those weird price reductions that pop up on sailings from time to time. I saw the JS and put a hold on it with RC online. I called my big TA to start the reservation. When the time came, I cancelled my online hold and it popped back into inventory, they saw it and assigned it to me. We went on to finalize the other rooms I was paying for and finished up with the JS. I put my deposit down with the TA on the JS, and their records showed the room.

They called back when trying to put the reservation through and said that the room somehow became double booked during the reservation process and Royal would not accept the reservation. Since it was the weekend, they told me they would call Royals department on Monday to resolve the issue. And that I have a JS booked and that I would be guaranteed another JS at that price.

Come Monday, I couldn't see any more JS avail on line the JS became sold out . My TA called me back while Royal was on another line holding telling me there were no more JS available. She apologized and said that Royal wanted to know if I would accept a GS instead. As I watched the availability of rooms throughout the next week or so, I noticed that several JS became available and thought they would reassign me back down, but that did not happen.

Good luck, I hope it can get resolved and you can get a JS or BETTER!

  2.
I'm like u Jason we still don't know our room assignment either but either way we paid for a balcony and now we r playing the waiting game for our room assignment of a suite. No matter what I'm excited cause in 6 days we will be on the allure of seas sailing away in the after noon ⚓️⚓️🚢🚢 #shiplife
Come back and tell us which room your were assigned.
  3. So I just booked a cruise for next October 2015 with a TA for the Oasis. We got an interior room with a window overlooking Central Park. Our total came to $1700, this doesn't include gratuities. We also got $100 OBC. Since this is our first cruise I have nothing to compare it too. This was with the BOGOHO sale. Is this a good deal?

It is a good deal based on historical pricing. Please keep in mind you can watch the website for a reduction that may allow you to upgrade to a balcony.

  4. Also, keep in mind that the number of bookings have gone way up in the 2015 2016 years. That is good for the bottom line. Think about it. This is an estimate.

They have 438 cruises listed for that time period.

Avg capacity of 2,000. of which 50% are now booked becasue of the sale

    Avg down payment 125.00

    438x(2000 x .50) x125

For a grand total of $54,750,000 interest free loan.

Even if there were cancellations, ships sale full and they will get higher prices for the cabins as time goes by which will even out the sales prices given.

  5. I found a great deal on a cruise and will be travelling with my 2 teens. We normally book 2 rooms. I normally book a suite and an inside room. The cost of the inside rooms are high right now (cheaper to put them in the suite with us) so I was going book them in the suite.

I realize that inside rooms tend to go down after final payment. Has anyone ever been able to switch the 3/4 passenger off of an existing reservations after final payment to a room by themselves?

I know I can get price reductions if the rooms go down until final payment, but my TA charges 25.00 for price reductions.

  6. Either way should be fine. I had my husband and my daughter in the room and myself and son in the other room. My husband and I went to the CL sans kids without any problems.

So either way should work. However, keep in mind your muster stations may be different and it would be better to have an adult in each room in case of emergency.

  7. I don't know if the concierge on Oasis will provide that service...that does sound very helpful.

We just ordered ahead of time because our room steward told us to do it that way during our first meeting with him...otherwise we would have had no idea and would have probably had the same wait times you had.

This may have only come up because we mentioned that we planned to dine in our room a lot, or it may be normal for them to mention...I don't know.

Alfonso gave us the menus for the next day's breakfast, lunch and dinner during turn down service, so we had plenty of time to decide if we wanted to order in or go to the buffet.

Too bad they did not upgrade anyone to the Royal.

You are right, when we were on the Oasis they would probably not order anything for you. I think the Jewel experience was just an exceptional Concierge with less suite rooms to take care of.

Did you get offered a bridge and galley tour?

  8. We ordered ahead of time...as late as around 4pm once, and just asked for delivery at a specific time. They will deliver room service from the dining room menu only during hours that the dining room is open, so we usually picked between 6:15 and 6:30.

We also ordered snacks from the standard room service menu twice. We were told a wait of up to 45 minutes, but it never took longer than 20 minutes.

The food was perfectly hot and meats were cooked to order and arrived at the correct temperature.

Just to let you know my experience. I was in a GS on Oasis and did not order ahead of time. It took 1 and 1/2 hours for the food to arrive for the 4 of us.

When I was on the Jewel, the concierge ordered ahead of time for us. That was a nice perk!
