  1. I added wheel chair to my cruise reservation and will add to flights once we get them
  2. My husband has parkinson's and sometimes is slow walking and cannot walk a long distance. I have never cruised out of Rome before and wondering if I should request a wheelchair for boarding. And I am using NCL air for our flights. Do I wait till I get flights to request wheelchair or can I get that added in advance of receiving my flight info. TIA

  4. I would love your excel Calendar. I end up doing all the work for all our trips
  5. We are doing two day before. I have been trying to convince my husband to do 1 day after and just chill by airport. I am worried on a long and very tiring trip home and he has some health issues. Thanks again of your information.
  6. chefy_mom Did you have only one day deviation for your cruise? I agree my frustration right now is to book transfers but I did book some tours that I did not have to pay upfront . Did you fly home the day you got off your cruise or did you deviate?
  7. last cruise we used it to purchase a nice watch for my husband and a cute little ring for me.
  8. Thanks - our cruise is leaving on Oct 23rd (Monday) and since some important sites we want to see our not open on Sunday. We will have to tough it out on Saturday to see those sites. But Sunday we will chill until the evening for a cool tour I have booked. I am hoping maybe our flight will get us in Rome in am . Are you flying back the day you get off the ship?
  9. Thanks for your comments to my question. I agree we have done NCL air from PHX to many states on NCLair with no issues. We always deviate when making our reservations for our cruise. Since this is our first international trip with NCLair we were wondering if our 2 day deviation before the cruise will be more like 1 and 1/2 or a true 2 days. I do a lot of research and planning of our trips. My husband still stresses about everything. I alway go and look for seats as soon as NCL sends my info. I have booked my hotel in Rome and some tours in Rome etc. Just have to wait for my flight into and I will book my transportation to hotel and ship. Thanks again for any and all info in regards to my questions. I was not looking for people to bag on NCLair. We take the chance and accept it. And we have no direct flights to Rome from Phoenix.
  10. I actually love reading your information and will watch your YouTube late today.
  11. We have Medicare - not advantage and a very good plan f supplement
  12. Here is our experience - My husband woke up one morning complaining about arm pain. To be safe we went to the medical center and many test were run. That evening we had a bill for around 2,000 that we paid up front when we left the cruise. Since we never had done this before I went to see a customer service supervisor. She was quite helpful and even made a call for me to speak to travel insurance to find out what we needed to do. Medicare does not pay out of the US at all. They told me I had to get refusal of payment by Medicare and then file the claim on our travel insurance. I decided to instead fill the claim with my supplemental insurance expecting them to deny my claim since Medicare would not cover it. To my surprise my supplemental paid almost the entire amount. So I filed with the travel insurance for the balance and they paid very quickly to us. Our travel insurance was thru NCL. Hope this helps!
  13. years ago I was on a NCL cruise at a meet and greet and someone asked does anyone play Maj Jongg. Forget what ship but they did have a set and 4 of use played every sea day. I did not have my card with me but now I usually bring it just in case
  14. yes we used to get that as a latitude perk which they have taken away. We always just pack it and bring it home for mimosa's
  15. your correct - I know I will arrive 2 days but may only have 1 full day plus some for 2nd.
  16. Yes I always do deviations when I book. My reservations is with CAS. I have done several trips with BOGO or free airfare domestic, but this is our first international flight. Totally agree you need to check all information regarding seats, luggage etc.
  17. Let me start out that we know all about NCL AIR including pros and cons.. Just wondering what anyone's experience was flying with 2 day deviation was like? We will be flying out of Phoenix to Rome and just wondered what others have experienced. TIA Ellen
  18. We have used BOGO air a few times. We always fly the day before and I book my own hotel and take taxi or other type transportation to the port. I only book ncl shuttle to go to airport when getting off ship.
  19. We have decided to do the Greek Isles. The price dropped and we saved almost 1200.00 so were sticking with that one!
  20. Every cruise the ports are usually only so many hours. Unless you are doing overnight stop
  21. Thanks you for your response. That is what I have been telling my husband There are 2 14 day cruises and the one end of august does also have greenland but much higher price since there are no sea days. The one in September is Iceland, Norway and Scotland. Ending in London. We always go in a day or 2 before. We will be using NCLAIR too. I would want to add on in London also. My husband worries about all the flights and baggage. I end up doing all the work for our trips. LOL Have not done any research on hotels, what to see etc. He is quick to now say but still worried to keep our original Greek Isles but like your wife I would love to see the northern lights too
  22. as a added note we have not ever cruise from a port outside of the USA. And hubby a little nervous about it too.
  23. Hi Everyone! Long time NCL cruiser here but looking for some thoughts regarding 2 cruises. Currently we are booked with NCL to do10 day greek isles cruise in Oct/Nov for 10 days on Breakaway. But originally we thought about doing a cruise to Norway and Iceland. I am looking at a 14 day out of Norway/Iceland on the Star in September. Cost is a little higher but expect that since 1 is 10 and the other 14. My husband only looks at cost but I am wondering if we would regret not doing the 14 day cruise instead. So any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
  24. So if cruising to Iceland and Norway for example do you need anything besides your passport?
