  1. This was a great review, thank you so much for taking the time to put it together. We are cruising Fathers Day on the Magic and it can't come soon enough. Hope you decide to book another cruise so I can follow along again!
  2. Did you happen to visit the Alchemy bar? Any favorite mixologists?
  3. Since HMC is owned by Carnival the Cheers program should be valid there...this was the deciding factor as to why we are not purchasing it for our upcoming cruises. We don't drink enough to justify it on port days at all. Very disappointed when I heard we would have to buy our drinks there after paying $850 on a drink package.
  4. Yes please report back! We are on the Magic in June, cant wait. Alchemy Bar is our favorite, let us know who the best mixologist is and hopefully they will still be on board when we go! We usually spend a ton of time there. Love the fact that its close to the bands and dancing.
  5. I think you got a deal if you were going to buy the spa passes anyway. We wouldn't use the spa passes so I would have passed on it. Also, make sure its a good room location...not under or over anything noisy.
  6. We sailed the Breeze and LOVED the Alchemy Bar. We spent so much time there the mixologist asked us and 3 other of his regular groups if we wanted to take a class the last sea day before they opened. He showed us how to make the drinks and we got to taste them. It was a blast, they should totally do this on all cruises. For quicker service just tip and get to know your mixologists. They will keep you company, tell stories, make you special drinks to your taste. It is our favorite place to relax on a cruise.
  7. Just disappointed in this for the late night time frame when everything but pizza is closed. Would love for them to keep open either Guys or Blue Iguana that late too.
  8. We booked a Cove balcony for Thanksgiving week on the Horizon 2019. Cant wait to try it out. I just booked the Magic for June and it was only $80 more for a regular balcony on deck 7 vs a Cove. I thought it would be worth it to be higher up.
  9. We went on a 5 day RC cruise and they did offer lobster in the MDR at no charge. Just keep in mind that from my research RC cruises are about $500 (average) more than Carnival cruises. We couldn't help but compare RC vs CCL while we were on our RC cruise. In my opinion CCL wins hands down and we wont be cruising with RC again. Maybe our expectations were too high and we did go on an older RC ship but we have been on older CCL ships as well and enjoyed them.
  10. So glad you are another review! I am on the Horizon for Thanksgiving next year (yes, a long wait sadly).
  11. Any tips on getting one of these last minute deals? We now live in FL and I can get to many ports here in 3 hours or less. Should I just call the regular 800 number Saturday morning? How much should I expect to save?
  12. Oh ok LOL...no worries! Age is just a number Enjoy your cruise, I am jealous!
  13. I will be following! I have a big age difference in my marriage too, my husband is 54 and I am 37, we have been together since I was 20. We are going on Horizon for Thanksgiving week next year. Excited to see your posts! Have fun!!!
  14. We are doing Horizon for 2019 Thanksgiving 🙂 We did RC this year, it wasn't too bad (our first and only cruise with them). People were complaining about the amount of kids but really what do you expect when you book it during that time.
