I am so excited to get back on a ship after 30 months (seems like 10 years), I wouldn’t mind if we just made giant loops out in the Atlantic! Getting to go to new ports is just the icing on the cake.

Well, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is this will be the last HAL visit to Juneau this season. The good news is that means it's about time for the season to start in Fort Lauderdale! Eurodam will be at the CT dock from 1pm to 10pm. Eurodam will be repositioning to Fort Lauderdale after this cruise. Koningsdam will be at the Franklin Street dock from 1pm to 10pm. Koningsdam will be going to Hawaii and then some west coast itineraries. The only other cruise ship in port is Norwegian Bliss at the AJ dock (1:30-11pm). The cruisers lucked out with the weather. There is only a 7% chance of rain and the high will be 55F/13C and the low 43F/6C. Sunrise is at 7:07am and sunset at 6:25pm. The PTZtv webcam can be found at https://www.juneauharborwebcam.com/. Next up: Our next get together will be in Fort Lauderdale on October 10 (hopefully with lots of toots). It will be a teaser as there will be almost two weeks until the next HAL sighting in FLL. Zaandam will be leaving on her 71-day Grand Africa - the first "Grand" voyage since the pandemic.

Was the company you were dealing with a travel agency or Holland America?

I hope they have worked the kinks out of the processing of credit cards to purchase the gift cards. When I was buying them in April/May, only a few went through the first time. I usually had to call, have the representative fiddle with the information and then get the e-mail the next day that the transaction had gone through. This happened with two different credit cards so it was not the credit card company holding up the process. In the end, all the aggravation was worth it because the bonus cards paid for an entire 12-day cruise.

Unfortunately, the weather people got it right today.

When is your cruise?

Nieuw Amsterdam and Westerdam are making their last visits to Juneau this season. Nieuw Amsterdam will be at the AS dock from 1pm to 10pm. After this cruise, she will be repositioning to Fort Lauderdale and will arrive on October 25. Westerdam will be at the CT dock from 2pm to 11pm. She will be heading off to Australia and New Zealand. The only other cruise ship in port is Norwegian Encore at the AJ dock (2:30pm-11pm). A cloudy day with periods of rain is forecast. The high will be 54F/12C and the low 44F/7C. Friday marks Zuiderdam's last Juneau visit of the season. She will be at the Franklin Street dock from 1pm to 10pm. After this cruise she will be heading to San Diego and then doing Tales of the South Pacific before heading to Fort Lauderdale (and a short dry dock). Also in port are Seabourn Odyssey at the CT dock (7am-9pm) and Quantum of the Seas at the AS dock (1pm-8pm). The weather is going to be lousy. Noordam is paying her last visit to Juneau this season on Thursday. She will be heading to San Diego and then to Australia. She will be at the CT dock from 9am to 10pm. The only other cruise ship in port is Norwegian Jewel at the AJ dock (11am-9pm). Unfortunately, there is a 90% chance of rain on Thursday with a quarter of an inch predicted. Westerdam will be at the CT dock from 1pm to 9pm. Also in port are Norwegian Bliss at the AJ dock (7am-11pm - taking advantage of not having to share the dock with her sister, Encore), Royal Princess at the Franklin Street dock (2:30pm-10pm), and Norwegian Encore at the AS dock (2:30pm-11pm).
