  1. Thanks Matt. That's all I needed to hear. I called Carnival and I did pay for their transfer service. Even if the flight is delayed a little bit we are covered, however, it's too late to get travel insurance. The deadline to get it has already passed. Fingers crossed that nothing major happens.

No problem, good luck and enjoy your cruise! [emoji5]️

  2. We used the first option (Budget RapidRez) before the Dream repositioning cruise last April, but our flight landed around 10:30a. I was a nervous wreck the entire trip until I set foot onto the ship. Getting the car was easy, but dropping it off using Budget's shuttle service was taking forever so we ended up just taking a taxi from the rental office in Port Canaveral to the port. The taxi was around $20 before the tip I think.

  3. Because it could happen. You never know with Carnival. The west coast departures have been quite popular now, especially the 7 day Mexican riviera. A spirit class ship is highly needed in Tampa, so most likely Miracle might be heading to Tampa for 7 day western caribbean sailings.

I get that, but I think a Spirit class from Aussie replacing a Spirit class in Cali is more likely than letting another Spirit class be replaced by something larger from the east coast to allow Tampa to have another ship.

If Miracle is replaced, it won't be replaced by a larger ship. I might be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

  4. When is Spirit due for a drydock? Would it be out of the realm of possibilities for Legend to spend the summer in Alaska and winter (northern hemisphere) in Australia?

That would allow Spirit to relocate to Long Beach and Miracle could relocate to Tampa. Or, Miracle could stay in Long Beach and Spirit relocate to Tampa.

Regardless, I hope that one of the Fantasy class ships in Long Beach relocates or changes from the 3/4 day itineraries that they're running. I see those cruises for $99 a lot. I guess we'll find out in a few days.

  5. The muster stations on Conquest class ships are outside on deck 4 in a covered area. I actually prefer mustering this way - I'd rather know exactly where to go in case of an emergency versus going to a dining room or theatre to wait for further instructions.

  6. Wow, Galveston is definitely getting spoiled after all the realignments take place - 3 newer 2.0'd ships cruising from the same port. It was already nice having a non-Fantasy class ship doing the 4/5 days, so I wasn't really expecting a replacement for Triumph. I wonder if anything is in store to replace Elation in New Orleans. I'm 2.5 hours from Galveston and 3 hours from New Orleans so it's nice to have these type of options now.

    Cue the Galveston hate... [emoji38]

  7. I think Carnival would do that. There hasn't been any new 7 day itineraries from Galveston/New Orleans in a long time. I think people would rather have less time ashore in Key West and Nassau and a full day in HMC.

I'm really not sure that Carnival is willing to run a ship at full speed just to add a slightly different itinerary that will appeal to most guests just about the same as the itinerary that it's already running. I'm no expert, but I would imagine that it's considerably more costly to run the ship at full speed versus at a normal cruising speed.

  8. What would be truly innovative in your eyes?

I can tell you what innovative is not - cramming more cabins on a ship without adding more public space at the same time. After reading Sunshine reviews, I feel as that's where Carnival might be headed going forward with new builds.

I mostly enjoy Carnival and the product that they offer, however I feel as though they are lacking in newer designs that you are seeing among other lines. Just my opinion, I guess we'll see on Thursday.

  9. I hope that this ship has more to offer than what that image lets on. Looks like the same old "brilliantly innovative" design rut Carnival seems to be stuck in. All we're looking at is an expanded Dream class, I would say probably close to the same jump from Triumph class to Conquest class - hardly any noticeable difference. I'm sure the decor will be very similar to Breeze and Sunshine with a huge emphasis on a Caribbean feel throughout the ship.

Hopefully we are all surprised and Carnival will truly have an innovative ship. I guess we'll find out in a few days.

  10. Every time I've gotten them, which is just about weekly, it was no more than 5 minutes after I ordered before the egift card shows up.

My brother knew nothing about the rewards program either and has been a Verizon wireless customer for a decade. He had 108,000 points just sitting there. Well not anymore. Lol

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm going to get some now.

  11. Love that idea, but it's probably not realistic (or at least to me). Living in Texas, I would love to see Vista come to my state, but I think Carnival signed Magic to Galveston for a while.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I wouldn't be surprised since Carnival commands higher prices in Texas than most other markets.

Someone who seems pretty credible (not the guy with multiple sign-ons) stated that he had spoken with someone inside Carnival who said Vista would be most likely deployed to Galveston or NOLA. I can't imagine Carnival choosing to deploy Vista to NOLA especially now that RCCL is sending Liberty OTS to Galveston, Carnival needs to be able to compete and RCCL has pulled out of NOLA for the next few years.

I can't imagine Port Canaveral not getting a newer ship regardless of where Vista ends up going. So if she ends up in Miami as everyone here is wanting to speculate, I would imagine Breeze would go to PC.
