1. I will be going on a 5 day RCL Liberty of the sea cruise on Saturday. I would appreciate it if can get some information.

1- Is there a formal night on a 5 day and if so when?

2- I plan to reserve Chops on probably the 4th day, but don't want to miss lobster night. Do you know when they serve lobster.

3- Is Johnny Rocket free or do you have to pay. I am looking forward to an old fashion milkshake. Any comments from those who had one.

4- Someone mentioned a special Turkey sandwich that has bacon and spicy mayo(omg sounds so good) on the Promenade, is there a charge for those?

5- Besides the first day, does spa offer discounts on their massages?

    6- How is the Karaoke

7- Casino: Do they have "FIREBALL AFTERBURN II" slots. I am addicted to this game. Are there slots that you think pay off better than others, if so do tell (lol).

Thanks for any info you can offer....

  2. I kind of like the WJ (improvement over Oasis class). In fact, it's just the buffet from the X Solstice class ... perhaps that's why I liked it since I already knew where to look for things.

Hi Chris, I am unable to open the Chris's guide for budget travel document. I received an error alert. Is this no longer assessable, and would you mind helping me retrieve or send email. Thanks, Ramona

  3. How long is the ride to beach and does bus and shuttle take the same amount of time to get there? Bus is 1/2 the price so what's the advantage in taking shuttle, especially with 3 of us going. Just asking. Thanks

  4. We order room service every morning and drink coffee on the balcony. So relaxing! It's nice to just sit and watch the water. This photo is from Liberty last month.

Is that bacon and eggs I see? On the other lines, you can only order continental. I hope this is right because I will definitely be utilizing room service at least a couple of mornings. :p

  5. I was invited on a 12 Caribbean cruise on the Anthem of the Seas in February 2016. I have never sailed longer than an 8 day cruise. I had a really nice time but by the time it was over, I was glad to be going home. So here is my question ......Is there such a thing as a cruise being too long?

Who has gone on cruise for more than 8 days and what was your experience like. Thanks.

  6. Taking a solo Caribbean cruise soon on LOS and my 1st balcony. Thinking about ways to enjoy like: having my am coffee or if pool area too crowded, I will have private reading/relax location although I don't want to spend to much time alone.

How do you enjoy your balcony.......Also, do they have mini frig?

    Thanks

  7. I cruise NCL and Carnival and the dress code is usually very casual for dinner. I dress up for formal nights but wear casual clothing like carpis and nice tops. I was told that RCL is a bit more formal. Is this true and if so, what do you wear or what would be considered appropriate. Thanks.

  8. Another way to get there is public transportation bus but using the tokens instead of buying the 3 day bus pass. Each person would need two tokens per day, one for each way. The tokens are $4.50 each so for $9 a person you would get to the beach and back. The tokens can be purchased right as you exit the ship where the transportation passes are sold. The shuttle tickets are purchased at a Kiosk just off the ship that says "shuttle tickets" on the front of it.

How close is the beach to the bus stop. I have a back problem and would find walking distances or up hill extremely difficulty.

  9. I am a newbie with RCI (most have been w/ NCL and Carnival). I will be taking 5 day Bermuda cruise on the Liberty. Does ship have:

    1- Formal night (dress code)

2- Lobster/prime ribs offered on special nights

    3- laundry facilities

    4- Comedy club

    5- Private pool areas

I am looking forward to tying another line and sure RCL will have lots to do to keep passengers busy. Thanks

  10. Ok, I have been following along trying to understand the fare part of this post. I thought I had it but now I am totally confused. Can someone answer this question for me. I am in Bermuda for 2 day and want to go to Tobacco beach one day and Horseshoe beach the next using public transportation. I get that I can take the #7 bus. So (1) how much will it cost me round trip? (2)Do I need to purchase tokens or can I use change (US)? (3) If I have to purchase tokens, where does that take place? Sorry if you have already give answer in prior posts, I think I am just having a senior moment (lol) Thank you.

  11. The first post was started back in 2008 and I am sure several things have changed. Please share your recent experience on this particular ship such as must do, favorites, would do again, etc. I will be sailing on 5 day trip to Bermuda end of June (oh I can't wait). Thanks for helping me to get and stay excited with your feedback.

  12. I do have concerns about dining in the main dining, I booked anytime and the solo board suggested late seating. Again I'll roll with it :)

Unless you can be seated with others at anytime dining, I think that I would go with early or late. I love cruising solo but I hate eating alone. But that's just me.

  13. I have gone on 9 cruises solo and I have enjoyed them all. I was a little bit hesitant at first but I decided that I would not let anything stop me from cruising which is my favorite type of vacationing.

You will probably be placed at a table with other solo cruisers and of course will need to engage in a little getting to know you conversations. If you get a nice group, this can be a very nice meal time event. If you are not comfortable with your table mates, go ask for a change.

I also would suggest that you go onto your roll call and let folks know that you are solo. Let them know that you would be interested in joining others for activities and meals. I would do this a couple of times( in the beginning and when cruise is getting close). Go to all of the venues that interest you and if you become uncomfortable for any reason, give yourself permission to "just leave". Try to engage in activities that others are participating in, make small talk during lunch at Lido, maybe sign up for one ship excursion so you can meet others from the ship, and take some reading materials.

In the beginning, I must admit solo cruising was a bit of a challenge but became easier each time. I am so much more comfortable cruising solo and still do all of the things that I am telling you to do. Go and have a great time.
