I'm so loving your review. I will be on exact itinerary in March.

1-My plan for PR is to hit a beach close by and then have an authentic meal. Do you know if there is public transportation that will take you to beach areas near or at port?

2- Thinking about St. Johns. Do you really need to book this as an excursion or can you get there on your own using same mode of transportation. Are there some additional perks or benefit by using Carnival.

What about bringing sprinkles for ice cream cones,

Any additions

1- Bacon, slice of cheese, egg over easy, then go get grits (while hot) and add a pat of butter and a little salt/pepper(all in that order). Stir all together and yummy.

2- Bring a glass w/lid and fill with that yummy passion fruit juice. Put in fridg. and bring to lunch or dinner for a nice change. I hate that ice tea they serve.

3- Was told that you could order a banana split from the children's menu but only at dinner. Has anyone done this?

Do you know if there is public transportation to beaches from port. Also, don't walk much but would like to pick up some water/soda and read about CVS/Walgreens. Are they close to ship? Thanks!

Hi Gapearl, I just love reading your reviews. I am traveling solo and recently booked the Valor for March 27th, going to several locations you have described in your previous review. Based on that review I would like to make 2 stops in San Juan, PR. EL Escobar (or something like that-lol) beach and Genesis Restaurant (or some other local nearby). Are these locations near the port/ship and either within a short walking distance (can't walk too long) or perhaps I take a bus or public transportation to these locations. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Hi, I have a question about public transportation to PR beaches. PR will be a port that the Valor makes a stop during my March 27th cruise. Can I take a bus from the pier to any of the beaches such as Condado Beach, and is the bus stop near terminal. My goal is to do a couple of hours at the beach then have a nice meal somewhere. Thanks for your help.

Enjoying your review. I lost a small fortune at the slots last cruise so I was thinking about playing roulette on my next one. You look like you did well. Did you play more than a $1 on a number? I have about 7 numbers I like, all birthdays. What are your winning numbers, if you are so inclined to share (lol)

Please excuse me as this is not something I an clear about. I have read on several post of individuals purchasing both gift cards and reward cards and using them for OBC. Are these gift card purchased at a discounted rate? Also, what type of rewards cards can you get and from where? Are they from like credit card reward? Thank you for your feedback.

They get paid a salary but are expected to sell products as well. I usually write on the questionnaire they give you to complete "please no sales offer" and/or will express that directly prior to the message.

Will be in San Juan on Monday and Flavors of San Juan not operating. Does anyone know of another food tasting tour?

Will be in port very short time and would like to go to beach close by. Really good review of this beach and has lots of shade. Only down side is no chairs. I am traveling alone and for a 5 minute taxi ride is will cost about $15. Also, was told that this is not a very regular or frequented stop for taxis. Before anyone makes the suggestion of walking, I am not in the best shape so out of question. :eek: Has anyone taken public transportation and if so, can you please advise/details. Thank you

Hi GAPearl, I just love your reviews and you seem to have a lot of experience when it comes to ports and activities so I am asking for suggestions and/or your opinion. I will be on the Valor out of Port Canaveral in April. The flights are extremely high due to spring break but I found a returning flight that is NS on SW for $191. The problem is that is at 7:30pm. Not sure how to make use of the 8 hours and shuttle issues are a bit confusing. I don't want to just sit in airport, any suggestions? Thanks.

I have asked for some info on room 1015 Carnival Splendor and still no response. Has no one ever stayed in this room. I am asking because I have never stayed up high and forward. Also, there is an elevator next to the room. Please share any info you may have. Thank you
