  1. Thanks everyone,

We are returning to ft lauderdale, hopefully they won't require us to take all our things and get off the ship, go through customs and then stand in line again to get back on the ship....seems like a waste of several hours only to return to our same room.

In fine with going to muster a 2nd time in one week, it doesn't take long from what I hear and the 2nd drill will only help us in case of emergency.

I think if we have to fully disembark, we may just spend the day in ft. Lauderdale and stop buy a liquor store nearby and pick up 2 bottles of wine for our second week;)

you are not required to remove your belongings, those stay in your cabin. You and your family might have to go through customs, and then like some have said... go right back on the ship. If you want to, you can have breakfast that morning, and leave the ship at any time once clearance has been granted and go off and enjoy Ft. Lauderdale. Then return prior to sailing along with the other passengers. You will have a new cruise card and an "in transit" card to show to the crew at the gangway. Hope this helps ! :)

  2. yes, it should be a little gold coloured baggie with upgraded amenties for you..... ask your room steward to ask his supervisor for them. You should get better shampoo/conditioner/ and an assortment of goodies in that bag.

let us know if you do get it.

    thanks!

  3. just got off the Star and we were the only ship in the fleet to get to see the new production show, Born to Dance! It was awesome!! The Captain arranged for the crew to see it first one night at 11:00pm, and then the next night, there was 2 shows for the passengers. The show is almost an hour long.

We also had Motor City, British Invasion, etc.

There was the usual comedians, jugglers, and movies to watch.....

    Enjoy your cruise! :)

  4. When you phone room service to switch out the bar set for your two coffee cards, ask them then, if they could possible please not stamp the cards.... :) be really sweet and kind... and they just might do it !! :) :) I have had luck with this , so I hope that you do as well :)

  5. You can negotiate with the taxi driver... I budget up to $150... usually pay about $90 including tip, I am little south SFO. Coming out of San Francisco, use to be if you went over 17 or 18 miles, it was the fare plus 1/2, not including tip.

Just asked my DH, how much we paid last December, he says $110, including tip. It is about a 20 minute ride, give or take depending on traffic.

WOW!! thanks for the heads up...... appreciate it. :)

  6. As a local, I live just 5 miles south of SFO airport, I would never use BART to get to the port from San Francisco International Airport... from BART in San Francisco - Embarcadero Station it is still a hike with luggage to get to the ship.

We use local taxis... less than $100, well worth.

If you don't want to get a taxi use the Princess transfer.

Pris993.... I am arriving into San Francisco on Sept 17th, on the Island Princess, and was going to take a taxi.... do I really need to budget $100.00 one way to get to SFO??? is it that far away???

    Thanks for your help! :)
