For those who have recently sailed on the Star Princess, who is the Entertainment (& Deputy) Director?
Received an email this morning that the CD name as Matais.... don't know him.

we sailed on the Star to Hawaii in Oct 2015 , celebrating our 100th Princess cruise, so we were eating in Sabatini's for breakfast. It was closed though on turnaround day, as we also stayed on for the 10 day coastal.
Hope that helps. :)

great cruise, have done it many times. Love all the ports on this itinerary!
Have a great time.:)

My last three cruises were the RTs to Hawaii but out of Hawaii and we really enjoyed them. Princess has a full slate of activities for the sea days so it's definitely not a boring cruise -- I don't know if the one from Vancouver has the Hawaiian cultural program' date=' but if they do, it's a big plus.[/quote']
Yes, we were on the Star in Oct.2015 out of Vancouver, and we had Elua onboard!! How fantastic was that!! You are correct, definitely a big plus.... loved it! :)

Love the Star... spent almost 30 day on her this past Oct./ Nov. and will be on the Star again for April/May for another 32 days....
You can't go wrong with her... :)

My husband and I are both Elite; in the past we got one mini bar setup at the beginning of our cruise and one midway through. I heard this has been discontinued and you now only get one setup for the cruise even if both are Elite. Does anyone know if this is true?
that is correct, only 1 per cabin, even if both passengers are Elite.

Yes' date=' for sure, the Star will be great.
I have done 14 Alaska cruises, and two were on the Star. Great!
(I should add, with a smile, that two more were on the original Star Princess... fond memories:)
The Star has a nice promenade deck for viewing Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Hubbard Glacier, and the other scenic places your cruise may go.
The Star has the nice, new, clean, and sparkling white dessert area, at the buffet. Beautiful and convenient.
The Star also still has Crown Grill and Sabatini's, which is good for me:)
Bon voyage![/quote']
I agree........... Love the Star... looking at doing the 7day RT Vancouver on the Star this year!

Our experience has been that the Panama sailings are quite "dressy", so I think your tux would fit right in!!
Always love a sharp dressed man! :)

Have fun! Love the Star and her crew! wish we were going as well! :)

we spent 25 days on the Star, disembarking on Nov.8th. Up to that point there was sushi every night in Vines.... maybe now because it is doing the shorter 4 and 5 days cruises.... could that be it??
The service on the Star was fantastic and would sail on that ship in a heartbeat!:)
-
have a fabulous cruise............... Love the Star.... fantastic Captain and crew!
-
He is the Master of the ship.:) We were on the November 12 cruise and, in spite of some disturbance by a group over 700-800 onboard, really enjoyed Star. Captain Ravero is the most personable and visible Master we've ever seen on a Princess ship. We met him on the second night as he was on his evening rounds and encountered him several times after that. I've never seen that before on Princess.
He lost a LOT of points when he made a fairly routine announcement into the cabins on disembarkation day, though. It was 7:00 am.
You are correct.......... we loved the fact that he would announce at what time he would be doing his walkabout and on what deck... that way if you had a question , you could get it answered very quickly. Wish more of the Captains were like him.

Enjoy your cruise! We got off the Star Nov.8th and had a wonderful cruise. Yes, Captain Stefano Ravero does alot of announcements , but , they are good. Lots of info on our cruise, which we appreciate . That was a new one for us too..... Master of the ship..... oh well, each to their own , I guess! Thanks for all the updates!:)
