Why is it so difficult for people to comply with suggested dress?? Why do some think that they are exempt from the rules?? How about if we all just do whatever we want. Let’s share drink packages, serve alcohol to kids under 21, smoke wherever we want to, take toddlers into the adults only pool, save 10 chairs by the pool for a two hour lunch...... after all, aren’t we entitled to do as we please on OUR vacation????

I emailed the hotel, and they said they had about 1/2 of their rooms damaged from the hurricane, and it is water damage that was not discovered until recently. (mold).
I'm glad I'm not staying in a moldy room, but you all are correct. I feel Hotwire should have booked me in an equal or better room at their expense. Well that did not happen, and they lost a good customer.
I booked another room at a nice hotel, and I will enjoy it!
Perfect!! I’m glad you found other accommodations. You have the right attitude too. Have a wonderful vacation!!

Not to hijack this thread, but this is something I wouldn't brag about. For a grown adult to encourage his/her child to violate cruise line policy not to mention violate the law is . . . let's just say, "not good." To continue to do it after being caught is . . . [i won't even go there].
I would only ask what type of lesson the parent is teaching the child . . .
My thoughts exactly.... that was why I mentioned my daughter will be 21 the day after the cruise and I would still not allow her to drink on the ship.

My 19 year old son regularly used my wife's SeaPass card to get drinks in the evening. He got caught twice. They handed him the drink, he gave them the card, they went to make the charge and then came back and took the drink away from him (and removed the charge from our account). Luckily neither he nor my wife was booted off.
When they swipe the sea pass card your picture pops up on their screen. I doubt your son looks anything like your wife. My 20yo daughter turns 21 the day after our cruise. She looks alot like me. If they glanced at the photo they would think it was her. No way would I ever give her my Sea pass card to buy a drink.

I always book directly with the hotel. I will never give anyone else control over my travel plans. Join the hotel rewards programs. You will get great rates.

I know they don’t kick you off for providing alcohol to underage kids. We went on a cruise with over 1,000 kids from Florida State and we saw a whole lot of that going on as well as sharing packages. I felt bad for the bar tenders. It was a mess.

Our favorite thing in the JS is the lounge chairs on the balcony. We take our pillows out there and nap every afternoon. Also the walk in closet is great! Love that bathtub too! So much space in the room. And the double points.......we will be diamond after we cruise in February [emoji4]

I would just get the internet package and tell them to get it also. I am surprised if they don't want it being that they are in their 20's (I have 5 children ages 15 to 27 and can't imagine them with internet access for 5 minutes - but I digress). This way you can email them where you are and vice versa. It is how I found my husband during a transatlantic when I was up and running around at 6am and he was sleeping in. Plus it's a great way to research places or just keep up with the world or whatever. Beats playing bingo.
I think a break from the internet and social media will be great for her. Her brother doesn’t even want the internet. I am not paying all that money just to have internet.

If you will not be sending many texts, you can use the ship's cell tower and pay $0.50 per text you send.
This sounds like the best solution for us!! Thank you!

She is 20 and you say very independent. Let her be!

I know her. And she will want to hang out with us or her brother on sea days. Sometimes it’s hard to find someone at the pool!

We did not book with the ship. We booked with native way. I was not aware there was a time difference in Grand Cayman. Thank you Merion_Mom!

We will be sailing with our adult children, my son and his partner ( both are first time cruisers), who are mid 20’s and my daughter who is 20. If we do not all have voom, what is the best way to communicate on the ship? Im more concerned about my daughter then the guys since she is alone in her room. She is very independent. Left Home at a young age to attend a boarding school for music and lives on her own at school. Has traveled extensively on her own. Yet, here I am worried about her.

I bought a beautiful fancy evening gown at a second hand store for $14.00. I have brought it on every cruise. I love dressing up on formal nights!

If our departure is 3:30 in Grand Cayman what time will the last tender leave for the ship? Our excursion is until 2:30. Will we be running......swimming???

We did this excursion this past October. The most fun time we’ve had on an excursion and we are both 68. Just make sure you wear swim goggles or your snorkeling goggles. At those speeds, even if you’re on the back, that salt water is blinding. We were on separate jet skis, but there was another couple that went double. They did fine, but for the rest of the tour, after Stingray City, they wore their snorkeling goggles. Enjoy

We are looking at doing this excursion. Was it just a trip to stingray city or was there a snorkel stop?

Has anyone done a private Jeep tour? Looking for a solid safe company. The kids are interested in zip lining, jet skiing and parasailing. They have already done zip lining at Chankenaab.

Perhaps the OP wanted to say they had a good deal of experience on Royal and the C&A level was the first thing that came to mind.
Ok. I was thinking it may be something served in the diamond lounge.

Wearing dress shorts in MDR on Adventure of the Seas
in Royal Caribbean International

The cruise compass does not suggest a dress code for those events. Go look at your Cruise Compass. And while you are looking notice that on formal night, formal wear is NOT a suggested dress code. It simply says: TONIGHT’S DINNER DRESS: FORMAL
