  1. um, but that's not what happened in this situation. It's also possible a TA could tackle a price change quicker than one contacting RCI (by the time you wait on hold).
  2. But they even did a call with Royal and couldn't get the price. So why is this a "perfect example" of a TA failure?
  3. Doesn't Royal occasionally do sales "for new bookings only"?
  4. It's also possible the cabin category is different. Look at a deck plan and make sure you're comparing apples to apples. Just because a room sleeps the same number of passengers and has the same view doesn't mean it's the same category.
  5. And we knew that's what YOU were talking about how? If you read the OP, "We just booked a cruise with Royal Caribbean today", odds are they're not within the 72 hour window. (Oh, and at the time I write this post, the OP was 17 hours previously). And considering the OP goes on to say "one name is listed twice, one name is missing", even if they DID book a cruise leaving in less than 72 hours, I would think Royal would be accommodating. Even airline tickets you can generally change with no issues within the first 24 hours following booking.
  6. I think it was our first cruise (Oasis) when we went to the both the "Adult" and the "Family" shows. The family show was basically the adult one with the "bad words" edited out. Jokes aren't as funny the second time around.
  7. July 14. Getting tired of my questions? LOL I've been on ships where they've done the "Family" show in the Royal Theater on the last night, the reason I didn't think this was it is it's still marked as 18+. Interesting though, I go to the one for Day 6 and the "Reserve" button is grayed out. I wonder if it is the Family show and they did the title wrong.
  8. Entertainment has opened for our July cruise. There are two comedy shows listed... When you click into either of them, the description is the same (Adult Comedy LIVE). The only difference is when you reserve, what days/times are available. I assume the shows are the same (with some minor exceptions) and they couldn't fit all of the possibilities under a single banner. Can someone confirm?
  9. I would assume the "day times" are for the "no charge" use.
  10. Great to hear! We're boarding in just over two months. I doubt it, but are you allowed to take GoPro cameras on the slides? Maybe strapped down?
  11. So how does it get used if cruisers don't know to ask for it? That makes no sense.
  12. You bumped a 10 year old thread instead of going to Google? https://www.google.com/search?q=More+importantly%2C+how+do+you+override+a+Novenco+thermostat%3F&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  13. St. Thomas https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/82-st-thomasst-john/ https://www.viator.com/searchResults/all?text=st. thomas (picked random week in July) In 2016, we did an all day sail with Fury Charters: https://usvisailing.com/ St. Martin https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/57-st-martinst-maarten/ https://www.viator.com/St-Maarten/d728-ttd In 2016, we ended up hiring a cab driver for the day who took us all over the island.
  14. Trip in July, so no need to panic yet. Her husband applied for his first passport two weeks after she sent hers in.
  15. Sorry, didn't explain myself well. The government logged it as "received" on 4/10. She mailed it 4/6. This was a renewal/name change (due to marriage), and no expedite.
  16. With all the issues with Royal IT, I wouldn't be surprised if the system linking reservations for checkins is different than the system for dining. So I thought I'd ask.
  17. The only place I can see on the app where our reservations are linked is if I go to book something (dinner, etc). Is there somewhere else I should see the other cabins?
  18. FWIW, DD mailed her passport and was received 4/10. Still "In Process". NOT expedited.
  19. That's relative. Our first cruise was in 2013. After July of this year, we'll have 43 points. At this rate, we might get to Diamond about when we retire.. MAYBE.
  20. How are you able to get to the airport (for your flight to the cruise), or to the port (to catch the cruise) without a "cruise excursion" to get you there on time?
  21. Just curious... (I really don't know), does Unlimited dining also cover your breakfasts and lunch? If not, do you leave tips there? No, you don't. OK, they might go "in the pocket" of the person you hand it to temporarily, but you have no idea if they share them with anyone else. Claiming "I know who gets my tips", IMO, is just a "feel good" saying people use.
  22. You really don't know that. People like to say "I'm just going to tip who wait on me, I'm not helping those I don't see!" but, just like in a restaurant on land, you have no idea what happens to that tip money. Does the person you're giving it to share it with other individuals? Do they put part of it in a "pot" for employee parties? A seven day cruise w/Royal's tips ($18.50pp/pd currently, right?) would be $129.50pp. Assume two people and you're at $260. That's the "automatic gratuity". But you like to give cash, so you remove the auto grats, and give $50 to your cabin attendant, $50 to your waiter, and $40 to your assistant waiter ($140). Then $5 for each breakfast and lunch (another $70), then $1/drink (say $5 per day, so another $35). $245. You're still out about the same amount of money, but you're "sticking it to Royal", because your money isn't "subsidizing" other's pay. Which you really have no idea about.
