Just don't be one of those they have to make announcements to comply and delay sailaway. Some guests just need to git-r-done before they should be allowed to get that first bucket of beer.

No, no.  That's not me.  Those people drive me nuts.  Just do what you have to do when they ask us to do it.  Not a hard concept.  Why make it difficult for other people?

You goto your muster station after you get on and watch someone put a life vest on.

Then you get checked off a list.

The people that don't get their sail cards locked and called over the PA system and the ship doesn't leave until they do.

I've never heard about elevators being turned off sorry.

That's exactly what I needed to know.  Thank you, one less thing to worry about.

Would you suggest going straight there or waiting until after we eat?  Hoping to get one of the first time slots on.

  3. We are set to depart at 5pm.  With the new muster drill, do they still make the announcement and turn off the elevators?  Or do we just go to our station at anytime and scan our cards?  If they turn the elevators off, does anyone know what time it is.  My mom cant do stairs very well so I'm trying to prepare to be on the right deck at the right time.

  4. So I came across this on the Grand Turk Port site.  This is a perfect reason for why Carnival is requiring travel insurance for unvaccinated.  I am sure other ports are requiring the same.

    https://www.grandturkcc.com/port-information/health-and-safety-covid-19-standards.aspx

    (1) Cruise Line Operator will either (a) assume the full financial responsibility for the medical care and safe evacuation or medical transportation of all passengers or crew who may be found to have or suspected of having COVID-19 or (b) will ensure that any passenger not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 aboard any vessel berthing at the Port facilities has obtained travel insurance prior to departure on the subject cruise to cover the cost of medical care and safe evacuation in case of an infection with COVID-19. This travel insurance policy must have a minimum of $10,000 per person in medical expense coverage and $30,000 coverage for emergency medical evacuation with no COVID-19 exclusions.

  5. I just reserved a bungalow in the adult area.  When looking at videos it seems there is bushes and a slop in the way of the water.  Is this the case with all of the adults bungalows?  I'm thinking of moving to a regular one outside of the adult area.  Thoughts?  Any recommendations for bungalow number?

  6. Looking at Best Western Plus BWI to stay the night and park for the cruise.  I am driving from NC so this is on the way back home.  Is this a good area to leave a car for the week?  It seems far away to have the shuttle to the port, but if it's offered I'd rather stay south than north of the port.  TIA.

  7. From Carnival's FAQs:

Guests who are vaccinated may purchase a Carnival tour or engage in independent sightseeing.

Unvaccinated guests will be offered options for Carnival-approved “bubble” tours as self-guided or independent exploration is not allowed in many destinations. In the event our approved “bubble” tours are sold out, or cancelled due to weather, unvaccinated guests will have to remain on board. Guests will be escorted from and to the ship, upon return from the shore excursion. No un-scheduled stops are permitted (i.e. gift shops, bars, restaurants, etc.). Guests participating in a “bubble” tour, regardless of vaccination status, may need to follow all tour protocols and local guidance regarding testing/screening, mask wearing, physical distancing, etc.

In private ports of call, such as Half Moon Cay, Princess Cays, etc., unvaccinated guests may participate in Carnival-approved tours or independent exploration.

    • You didn't happen to have a different cruise you had to cancel or change did you?  I have found that these "ghost" bookings (when something is changed or canceled) can make this count wrong as it is timing from the ghost booking.

I did cancel one, but it was only one week prior.

  9. I'm curious if anyone else has this when they sign in.  The flag with the countdown to my cruise states 24 days, but the cruise is 75 days away.  When I open my cruise up it's correct, but just not on the initial log in.  I though it was a glitch at first, but it's been like this for a good time now.

Yes, private tour. It was like $60 per hour for 4 of us and we did a 4 hour tour (10am-2pm) so it was basically $60 per person ($240 total). We toured around the island, had lunch at the fish fry strip, and got dropped at the airport at 2pm. We had toured before and we seen a lot of new stuff this time around.

We could go anywhere we wanted when we wanted etc. It was totally up to us.

Sounds perfect!  Thanks so much!  : )

  11. I will be traveling with my mom who is recovering from total knee surgery.  She doesn't walk long distances.  Any suggestions on a tour we can do?  No beaches/resorts please.  Is there taxi tours by the port that we can rent for the day?  TIA!
