  1. Thanks for posting. We have FTTF in mid December but really only got it because we wanted to get into our room with our stuff as early as possible. You said you were able board at 1. I am assuming your room was ready but guessing that everyone else's was too? Because by 1 they should all be ready? Am i right about this? Because if so then FTTF looses it's appeal for us as the other perks (own line at guest services) aren't really worth it - so if everyone can get into their room upon boarding then I may cancel the FTTF. Advice?

That was my feeling too. I was kind of annoyed they didn't tell us until right before we left. The plus side is that we were onboard before everyone so the buffet was not crowded. One of the doors were still closed to the cabin hallways, but the other side of the hallway was not. I really don't know if the other rooms were done because I was not in them and didn't pay attention. I am sorry, I know that's no help. The stewards were still out in the hallway however.

  2. I'm always looking for pics, menus, and fun times, so I figured I would throw some out there. I'll have the fun times in a few days. I have to get to a scanner.

Also I was asked about embarkation. Like others, we were delayed. We had faster to the fun and were boarded a little after 1pm. The ship ended up sailing a bit after 6. We were at the sail away party at 6 and they announced we were moving, so I don't remember the exact time.

Our cabin #8433 was an aft-wraparound. The cabin itself was the same size as regular balcony cabins, but shaped weird. The balcony was wonderful. The only time we heard the engine was when the ship was leaving and ariving at the dock. It was a loud jackhammer sound. But once we were off the dock, nothing was heard. They were working on deck 7 and we heard them tapping away but nothing too bad. No noise either from the lido deck above.

It has a flat screen tv now, but no other beautifications have been done yet.

Here are the pics of the cabin, I hope the attachements work. :)

  3. I'm just passing this email I received from Carnival regarding the 11/18/16 our of Miami. I didn't get it (my friend did), so I'm thinking there are others who did't either.

    Dear Carnival Victory Guests!

Carnival Victory will be doing some loading and unloading of materials throughout the day, and this will cause a delay in the check-in and boarding times for your cruise. Therefore, we ask that you add two hours to your pre-selected check-in window and plan to arrive at the new time, since seating is very limited at our cruise terminal. We will begin boarding no earlier than 1:30 PM for all guests, including Diamond, Platinum, suites and Faster to the Fun.

Also, since we will need a little extra time to load supplies, our departure will be later than normal. Our itinerary will remain as scheduled and we will sail once loading is completed.

  4. You also can order more than one thing off the menu in the dinning room. So if you see 2 appetizers you want to try, feel free to order both. A lot of people go overboard and end up wasting food so maybe it's best to share if possible.

Carnival beds are pretty comfy, but if you aren't comfortable, ask you steward for a mattress pillow.

Green apples for sea sickness. Just ask for them and they will cut up a plate full. Make sure they are the green ones though.

If you plan on using the spa go early to make a reservation. Different times/day are different prices so if it fits in you schedule, you are better off paying less.

Instead of heading straight to the buffet when you board, find out if any of the restaurants are open for service. Some ships do this.

Don't be late for the ship....sounds simple, but so many people do it. They will not wait and you will be on video on a lot of peoples personal social media sites running for the ship as it sails away.

Have fun, and go with the flow! :D

  5. Allowing guests to choose online before their cruise would avoid uncomfortable encounters with stewards and prevent stewards from pushing once-a-day. It could also allow cabins to be assigned to stewards in a way that balances their workload. If everyone in an area wanted twice-a-day service, that steward could be assigned fewer cabins for that cruise, allowing the steward to adequately provide the requested service without working longer hours. That way, there's no guilt or resentment between guests and staff.

I think that is a great solution for both guests and staff.

  6. I'm sure I'll get the usual questions like why prepay, why give Carnival an interest free loan, etc.

I had to laugh at this. With interest rates these days, it really doesn't make much difference.

I always put cash on my account ahead of time. It's a way for me to save for my trip and no have access to it to spend before it.

  7. This is the first I've heard about an "American menu". I personally loved trying new things when I cruised. How did everyone like the menu selection? Is it up to par with the old menus? Is there still options on there to try something new? (Like the escargo and frog legs, both of which I wouldn't have tried other wise. lol)

  8. I've read a lot of posts about Atlantis closing early (around 5). We are going to be there Nov 19, 2016. Is it only the pool area that closes early or does the beach and the dig area close at that time as well? Is the locker area closed early too? TIA!

  9. Because it was a short port call on a Sunday, I booked through the ship, not Stuarts cove or similar. How was it? Pleasant enough. But nothing compared to say Tortola for example. It was short, about an hour in the water. Boat was pretty full, although that didn't effect anything. Have been to Nassau a few times, and have seen most of what I want to see in town. I would probably snorkel again if we go back, but I would try to find an independant tour that had more time in the water. If you have other stops where you could snorkel you might find better scenery.

    Hope that answers your question.

Thank you! I appreciate your reply. We are trying to decide on snorkeling vs. Atlantis.

  10. We are debating doing a catamaran snorkel or Discover Atlantis with beach. We sail in November and there will be 5 ships in port. I would appreciate any thoughts on one or the other. How is the snorkeling from Nassau? Is the water temp OK? Is the snorkeling from the Atlantis beach any good? I know the pool and water activities close early, does anyone know what time the beach closes? Thank you all so much. I appreciate your input.
