  1. We have been cruising with our son since he was 4. He loves food and likes trying new things. We always try to do at least one specialty restaurant per cruise. When we walk in and pass other guests we many times get nasty looks for bringing in a child. It's so sad that he is judged even before they see how well behaved he is.

Once at Teppanyaki on the Pearl, a couple was seated with us, saw my son and then asked to be moved to the other table. My son felt bad but we still had a great time and he really enjoyed the meal. The couple ended up being seated with a group of adults probably over 30 that were very loud, raunchy and messy. I was secretly so happy :) They stopped us later during the cruise and apologized and said how impressed they were with our sons manners.

To the OP, I hope you at least give it a try and ignore all the people that would prefer there were no kids on the ships!

  2. You'll be able to enjoy most of it together. In the women's area are a couple of tubs, showers, and I believe there's a sauna there as well. The co-ed area has loungers, heated ceramic loungers, the therapy tool and a hot tub. I know I found a video tour of the spa on You Tube before I sailed on the Pearl. If you look at that, it should give you a good feel for it.

    Awesome! Thank you!

  3. We are going on the Pearl in March 2017. First cruise after the refurbishing. Our son loves going to the kids club and my husband and I are thinking about getting a spa pass for the times during the cruise when we are childless :)

I was just wondering what is coed and what is not. I guess we don't want to spend the money if we can't enjoy most of it together.

  4. We were on the Sun for Christmas a few years ago and Santa also came on Christmas Eve to let the kids sit on his lap and tell what they wanted for Christmas and to take pictures with the kids. He also read a story to the kids. Then was there again Christmas morning and they served hot chocolate and cookies and every child received a present. It was really neat!

  5. My 9 year old son loves cruising and loves the kids club on NCL. Last March, we decided to do an All Inclusive instead of a cruise and even with a waterpark at the hotel he would have rather cruised. We've always cruised on the smaller ships without all the bells and whistles and he still has an awesome time.

  6. We went to Blue Lagoon in Nassau about 4 years ago and it was amazing! It's a beautiful place and so clean and the employees are so nice and funny. They have lockers and nice bathrooms as well as a gift shop. The pictures are expensive but I thought it was worth it. They also do a video for you. We went through the ship and felt very rushed. I would love to go back and spend the entire day there.

March 2016 we went to Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The actual swim was amazing! We did the Royal Swim with 2 dolphins. I think we were in the water about 45 minutes. Our 8 year old did it too and loved it! My husband also swam with the sharks and string rays. The trainers are awesome and fun but the rest of the employees are really pushy. They don't do a video and pictures are expensive. I think it was $128 for the pics of the 3 of us during our swim but there are probably over 100 of them. They are really great pictures though! Although, the dolphin swim was completely wonderful, I don't think I would spend much time doing anything else here. The bathrooms were clean and they did have some lockers but they fill up quick. They also have food, drinks and a gift shop.

On a side note, we aren't picky people and have never done an excursion where we haven't had fun. Everything is what you make of it! Have fun!!!

  7. The last part of your post confused me, because the Garden Cafe is not on The Waterfront.

But yes, there is outdoor seating at Garden Cafe, as well as upstairs at Margaritaville.

I've haven't been on the Escape yet and didn't know there was a place called "The Waterfront" I was just wondering if there was a place outside "by the water" to bring your buffet food to eat.

    Thanks everyone for your answers.

  8. I was wondering this too. We love the Great Outdoors on the older ships and were wondering if there are places we can take our breakfast, lunch or late night snacks from the Garden Café outside to eat. There are only 3 of us and we like to be on the waterfront as much as possible.
