  1. Curious for opinions. We fly out to Rome in a few days to board Odyssey for its transatlantic back to Florida. With all the crazy going on and things seemingly escalating every day in the middle east, would you still go? As of right now, we're planning on going but just being a little more cautious.
  2. Looks like what some thought might happen is going to happen, at least for 5-8 daily. Found that on another group. No more diamonds in the lounge from 5-8. Maybe specific to whatever this sailing is, but wouldn't surprise me to go forward. Glad I don't care and never go to the lounge.
  3. Wife is a wine drinker, I'm not crazy about it but maybe this would open me up to some.
  4. I know "worth it" is very subjective, but, considering doing chefs table for the first time ever on our transatlantic in a few weeks on Odyssey. Right now it's like $88 a person. Is it worth a try? Normally we're too busy to commit to such a long dining experience, but we'll have more time with it being a crossing. I know specialty dining is generally more expensive onboard and I don't think I've ever seen chefs table offered at a discount onboard that I can remember.
  5. Yes. YouTube obstructed vjdww balcony in Odyssey, quantum or ovation and you'll see numerous videos of different views. Some you'll see mostly life boat, others better.
  6. Interesting how the price varies. I'm on Oasis end of February and early March, and the price was $61.99per person. On Wonder at the end of March, it's $51.98. I would have expected Wonder sailing to be higher than oasis since it seems they charge more on Coco cay for everything on the newer ships.
  7. The new swim up bar and dj area looks awesome. An upgraded version of oasis lagoon I feel. Booked it on 3 cruises before the day pass increases like beach club did
  8. Clean teeth are clean teeth! Worry less about what other people do and enjoy vacation more.
  9. I give kudos to the lady exercising and flossing her teeth!
  10. True. And we don't travel with a massive amount of stuff. I plan on price watching to see if upgrading goes does, or we may put in royal up bids for even a boardwalk balcony. For the amount we're in our cabin, this being our first interior may or may not enjoy it. We shall see. Excited for our first b2b though
  11. So as a follow up, decided to use my casino offer in another way. Ended up booking the following week on oasis so we can do our first ever back to back. Was able to get the same interior for both weeks, so may or may not try to Royal up.
  12. Right now, upgrading to lowest category oceanview balcony is about a grand. No thanks. Lol.
  13. One thing I considered is doing a free 3 day on Freedom, get off the ship and go down the cruise port and hop on Indy for the 5 nighter, so a total of 8 nights. Could also do that with free cruises, but felt like more work than keeping oasis.
  14. Currently I have the Oasis booked in February. It's a free casino cruise, so only paid port fees and taxes. It's a 7 day, goes to Nassau, Coco cay, Labadee, and Falmouth. Lackluster at best. Our cabin is just an interior. For the same week, I can book a different free casino cruise on Independence of the seas. It's only a 5 nighter, goes to Falmouth and Nassau. With this cruise, we'd be able to get a junior suite comped. I've gone back and forth on just keeping what we have or moving to Indy. We've sailed on both ships and been to all islands for both.
  15. I ask my wife this question all the time and then it's quickly followed by her yelling "wrong one!!" 🤷
  16. I'm leaning towards keeping 10:30. Economy for 6 hours doesn't sound enjoyable
  17. Looks like the only other ship in that day is Brilliant Lady which helps. I figure outside of the agricultural line, we'll be able to bypass any line at the United check in due to first class and at tsa for precheck, so it's just any hangup getting off the ship or agricultural line.
  18. My options are basically keep what we have and get off the ship right away carrying our luggage for 10:30, or cancel and get a refund and pay about the same amount of money on Delta however economy on Delta is the same price as what we paid for 1st class on United..
  19. For those who have sailed in the last year or so out of San Juan, is a 10:30am flight after the cruise do able? I seem to remember a few years ago San Juan wasn't the most organized port or airport. We'd be checking bags but do have pre check. United changed our flight and 10:30am is the latest departure so it's either keep that or cancel for a refund and pay more for another airline.
  20. There is, which is what we've done in the past, but to go from interior to balcony on this sailing is like $1400. Not worth it.
  21. This will potentially be our first ever cruise in an interior room assuming no royal up wins. I've always insisted we have a balcony, but the last handful of cruises, I've found me using the balcony less and less. I'd be out there waking up, but then on a sea day, we head to the pool for the day until dinner. I'd sit on the balcony while wife is gr getting ready, then we'd leave for dinner and not be back in the room until 1 or 2am. Total balcony time maybe an hour? I like people watching and music, which is why we do the pool deck. I'm really hoping we don't mind the interior because it'd make cruising even cheaper without ever paying upgrade fees. Some casino offers include Balconies, others just interior. This is cruise 18 I believe and first in an interior.
  22. We'll actually be on Wonder about 3 weeks after this 🙂
