  1. Ok....I just called RC... my account had been unlocked (sometime over night)…. but I still was NOT able to see my Calendar. So, she walked me thru logging out & going in the back door.... but still couldn't access my calendar.... then she asked What browser are you using? I told her Microsoft Edge.... she asked if I had the Internet Explorer browser...I do, so we went thru the same steps (again back door)…. & I was able to get into my calendar. But still not able to "see" my calendar within my reservation.... She said it's a glitch that they are aware of & are working on fixing but for now it's better to use Internet Explorer or Google Chrome to look at your reservation! WHAT A MESS!

  2. The site requires you to log out, not "just" close the browser. The site believes you are still active when you close the browser. If should clear after a couple of hours or you can call 800.398.9819 and ask them to unlock you account.

Right...…….. It "SHOULD" clear after a short while.... but mine has been locked since before July 4th (so 3 weeks!)…. I am thinking there MUST BE a glitch on the site. Calling them now.

  3. Just call RCCL and have them unlock your account. I have had to do it a few times.

Thanks. I did call. I told them I was trying to print my luggage tags... so he told me how to go in the back door so to speak to accomplish that... and it worked... but my acct remained locked. I guess I can call and ask them to do that specifically.

  4. So, while trying to find out HOW to check/set my preferences on the new website, I found this thread. I decided to check out RCCAS FB page... I sent them an instant message & got my answer in seconds! The answer: "Currently, that feature is not available, you must call to set your preferences."

So I called. I found out my preferences were as I wanted them. Then I asked the rep..."so, are y'all ever gonna get the feature where we can view/change our own preferences back on the website?" He said "YES! hopefully that feature will be back on the website by the end of this month or next (July/August). He said they are working on some bugs with the boxes that you check for your preferences as well as the "Countdown to cruise" feature.... but said it WILL be back as soon as they get it worked out.

    So, just FYI...

  5. WEST BAY BEACH has the BEST snorkeling you will EVER experience! You can book the "Tabyanna Beach Break" on the ship, which will take you right to the reef. You can rent gear there, or bring your own. the Reef is about 30 yards off the beach, in very clear, calm waters. We have been five times & have two more cruises booked going there...….. they offer food, loungers, shade, there is even inflatables for the kids to play on. They have guys in Kayaks that for tip only will pull you all thru the reef & feed the fishes as you go along & you will be swarmed by the fishes..... you can also just grab a cab at the pier to go to West Bay Beach area, but it will cost much more than booking the ship sponsored excursion. There are tons of hotels, restaurants, places to just hang all along the beach...very clean & nice. There are water activities offered there as well...…… again...key word here ...is the BEST snorkeling on the island is found here.

  6. As a suite guest, you will board first along with any "special parties (ie:Wedding)". No one will come to get you that I am aware of (unless you are on the 2nd leg of a B2B). You still won't be able to access your suite until 1:00. This was the way it was for us on Vision (Galveston). The Galveston terminal doesn't even have a separate lounge. Let us know how all that goes, as we have a suite on Liberty next April.....

  7. Hubs & I booked a cruise in March while onboard another ship with our kids & grandkids. They tried to book as well.... but got the dreaded (never seen it before ever) no staterooms available for 4 guests message. Called RC & the rep told me he had never seen that before but stated it was a Coast Guard rule. So, they couldn't book it. So, I started looking online EVERY DAY... for two months.…… nothing. THEN on July 4th...they started the sale..... I looked again...still no staterooms for 4.... I checked again the next day...BAM! one was available! We grabbed it. Then I checked the next day...just for grins...same story... no staterooms for 4. So, I guess a cabin just opened up... IDK. But perseverance paid of for us. But 5 weeks out? Slim to none chance I am thinking...…….

OP...maybe try booking a totally different cabin...or give up the suite & get two cabins? Good luck.

  8. Morning. Warning of a small rant here...

I'm on Indy for spring break next year. I'm finding it hard to believe that all of the drink packages are now so much higher.

The soda package that has been 8.50 a day for YEARS is now 9.99 (which is a "discount" of 10% over the onboard price). Can the soda package really have increased that much - or is it because of the Freestyle machines now on the ship?

The refreshment package is 26.00 a day now, and that's a 10% discount too.

I've heard of 30% off the refreshment package for "upcoming" cruises - not sure which ones - but I've yet to see this for Indy.

Is there a chance that maybe on Black Friday, these prices will somewhat drop to prices I've become accustomed to?

    Thanks, all..

There will be a better sale before your cruise...spring break is a ways away.... patience young grasshopper... ;-)

  9. The one & only time we decided to not bring the formal wear... hubby had a sport coat, but no tie. I had a little black dress, but not fancy in anyway... we got invited to have dinner with the Captain! When we told the concierge of our attire & would that be appropriate, we were told no. So we had to pass on dinner with the Captain. Our table was about two tables away & we sat there longing to be at that table. So never again! We will always have at least one formal & tie with us! But may never get the invite again.

  10. Thanks for following along! I appreciate your support!

Yes, we live in The Woodlands near Conroe. Dropping off our luggage was very easy. I dropped my husband off, since he has a bad ankle, and he gave all our luggage to the porters with a $20 and I parked the car at Cruise Park.

Once onboard around 11:15 or so I went up to our room. I saw a guy who was picking up wheelchairs from the previous cruise and he told me to just ask the room steward. I saw her (not mine) but I asked and she said sure just leave it OUTSIDE the room. So I did. I appreciated her so much because lugging that around is NO FUN! I think it is just one of those things... Just ask. Of course, they may say no but at least you can try!

We went straight to the Lido deck when we got on and then back to the Promenade to eat at Cafe Promenade.

    I hope this helps!

We were on Liberty in April & May. We TRIED to leave our Carry-on's at our room...our steward said NO! She said that the rooms are all "open" (as they were still cleaning) & they couldn't guarantee the security of the bags.... so just know you MAY be able to leave them, you MAY not.

  11. I know I shouldn't listen to FB but someone just posted that you can no longer purchase the drink package online in the cruise planner. They said they even called and was told you can only purchase it once onboard...

I can't believe this is true... Is this a glitch?

I read on a different post that the shorter cruises are no longer offering the drink packages.

Also, if your cruise is less than 7 days out, you can't buy anything online.

Why don't you just log onto RC & try to access the cruise planner to see for yourself?

  12. We recently found out my son is allergic to wheat. I know Royal identifies GF items on the MDR menu and will help us out with that, but can I also take GF snacks on board for him since it's medically necessary?

Just FYI...the MDR menus ARE marked with GF items...BUT...…. they are NOT always accurate. So ALWAYS - ALWAYS discuss with your waiter the options each time. I have been eating GF for about 6 years & I "know" what I can & can not eat.... and several times on cruises I've had to question the waiter about a certain food being marked as GF...he would go check with the chef & sure enough.... It wasn't GF. They can & will make certain items GF if they can...but don't rely on the menu being marked correctly.

Also in the Windjammer... some ships are good about having & marking things as GF...most are not. I find it hard to eat in the Windjammer...not a lot of options, because I have to eat things I "know" are GF & not trust the signage. Very few (if any) desserts.... they do have Jell-O most days.... but the cakes & cookies.... nope. They will make GF Pizza & pasta on request...but it takes about 30 minutes....

  13. So, while in Cozumel yesterday, I went to the MoneyBackMx kiosk inside DI. The gal there was able to pull up my account & told me “it’s in process.”..... She said it’s taking some time now to process the refunds & I should get my refund in four months..... I told her it’s a week shy of FIVE months now! She just said, all I can see is that it is in process. So basically no help. At least she was able to see my request. She said I could “call” the number on my paperwork if I wanted to know more..... [emoji15] oh well. Maybe I’ll get my refund eventually. I won’t be buying anymore jewelry in MX tho. Live & learn.

  14. Those are pretty standard repairs, until the vessel goes to its next scheduled drydock. The "dents" that are still visible do not meet the requirements of the class society (insurance underwriters) for requiring the hull plating to be repaired until next drydock. If I had a closer look at them, it might even turn out that class would say that they never have to be repaired, from a structural standpoint. The cruise line may wish to renew the plating here for aesthetics, but from what I see, no framing has been seriously deformed (the dents are deeper between frames, and are less deep and steep at the frame). Even if framing has been somewhat deformed, it is a perfectly acceptable repair to cut them out and make new ones to match the "new" contours of the dented plating. The large plate welded over the deep dent under the hawsepipe is again, a perfectly acceptable repair, added as a "doubler" to increase plating strength at this point, and the damaged frames behind it were repaired as noted above, cut and shaped to match the dented profile. I believe her next drydocking is scheduled for 2019.

There “were” actual holes in the sides at the time.

  15. Ok so yesterday we were on Liberty OTS & had no problem docking. Just wanted to let all know who are worried about future calls there...

Here is a pic to show the damage. They were working on it while we were there.

The next morning we had the MS Armonia docked next to us at Costa Maya... in the pics you can see the “repairs” cheaply done, I might add.

  16. Sounds like Bonine needs to be on my list ASAP. And sea bands, and ginger gum! I think I’ll still try and make more calls in case cancellations pop up that would allow us to move more mid ship.

Get the Dr's script.... Scopolamine.... be sure to cut it in HALF before applying..... my Dr told me to do that... (I actually now cut it into quarters)...I have never ever been "sleepy" using it. The first day ... you will notice your eyes are a bit blurry, but only for a few hours...then you don't even know it's there. It says to reapply after three days, but I don't usually bother.... it works great.

  17. ROATAN is our FAVORITE port! Absolutely - hands down - the best snorkeling (right from the beach) in all of the Caribbean.

You can book Tabyanna Beach (thru Royal) and you will be shuttled to West *BAY* Beach. (Not West End). There you will have access to beach loungers, restrooms, lunch, snorkel gear rentals & the best reef snorkeling right from the beach! There is a stretch of beach there that has all kinds of FUN things to do..... you can stroll down the beach, grab a bite to eat or drinks at any of the numerous restaurants/resorts.

They offer Parasailing, jet ski rentals, fishing, all kinds of water sports. The water in the West Bay Beach area is very calm & beautifully clear.

You can grab a Water Taxi & go up to the West End (if you want to see that area - it's a scuba diving - really laid back little town).

We have been there numerous times & have even flown down & stayed at Infinity Bay Resort.... which is next door to Tabyanna Beach.

The town outside the port area is walkable.... there are street vendors there, a few bars. It's better to book an excursion and go to the other side of the island tho. It's about 30 minutes by shuttle. You can grab a taxi there as well, but it's expensive.

There is also a gorgeous Golf Course there if you're into that. There is a lot to do on that tiny island..... I'll be there next week & again next month...and again in 2020...

  18. I just booked a private excursions yesterday for our October cruise... wonder when we’ll find out. The itinerary still shows Roatan.

We are supposed to call on Roatan NEXT week (9 days)......... we still haven't heard anything.

  19. Here's a Live West Bay Beach Cam. https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/honduras/bay-islands/roatan/west-bay.html

We get the Tabyanna Beach Excursion (Royal Caribbean) to get to West Bay. It is currently on sale for $51 each. The DO rent snorkel gear. They offer shuttle service, lunch, restrooms, lounge chairs, shade, security guards to keep the vendors away... GREAT snorkeling right there....just walk out into the water & start swimming.... on cruise days they also have local guys in kayaks that will pull you around the reef for only a tip. We've done that several times.... they feed the fish & they just swarm around you.

Taxi from the pier to West Bay will be about $60 each way. Infinity Bay Resort also has an excursion offered thru Royal... it's a lovely resort with a GORGEOUS pool. We stayed there last Feb for a week.... it is next door to Tabyanna Beach.

You can just walk down the beach...there are MANY restaurants that offer chairs for rent. You can also take a water taxi up to West End & see that diving town.

As for "getting there early".. Royal docks at the pier about 8:00 (then it has to get cleared), it takes about 30-45 minutes to get to West Bay Beach...you won't get there much before 9:30. Once you get out over the reef......... you won't want to go back too soon...it's simply amazing!

    Have fun!
