  1. Since you're in the Haven you have your own restaurant too.

Yes we are looking forward to trying it. I figured 4 specialty meals will be enough since we have the Haven too. We usually don't eat dinner in the regular dining room anymore since we had a couple bad experiences in them. Ty!

  2. I don't believe that rumor is true. As I understand it, most specialty restaurants will be converted to Ala Carte, but will still be available as SDP dinners. When you use an SDP dinner at an Ala Carte restaurant, you get one entree and unlimited everything else (apps, sides, desserts).

Cagneys and the other usuals should all be included. Ocean Blue, Wasabi and Cirque Dreams are included with an extra upcharge.

I'm going in December on the same plan you have and am looking forward to the specialty dining! I may use one night of SDP to pay the additional $7 upcharge and have all-you-can-eat Sushi at Wasabi!

Thank you. That's what I'm looking for!

  3. I only read cruise critics so must be here. Lol On my documents inline it shows 4 specialty restaurants included, not the usual full weeks worth. That part is fine with us. I keep reading here thar Cagneys is going ala carte. Is so is it still included in the specialty restaurant promo?

  4. So I booked the Haven on the Breakaway for September. We are in a courtyard suite. I got the 4 thing deal with it. I think it's dining drinking wifi and excursion. Anyway I noticed it's just 4 free specialty meals for the 7 day cruise. I read that's a fairly new thing. My question is I'm reading that Cagneys will no longer be included to book in those now or soon? Is thAt one not included in the free specialty package and are there others like that now?

  5. I could have sworn our first ever cruise which was on the Dawn had a seperate non smoking area. The main casino was smoking. Off to the side and up some steps was a small casino room that was non smoking. The machines in there were really just video poker and a few slots. It was always empty when we went in there. I'm a non smoker but smoke doesn't bother me. My husband does smoke so hopefully the smoking section will be a lot bigger then the non smoking.

  6. I'd love to know why some qualify for so little. My husband and I only play slots and it usually takes us until day 6 of a 7 day cruise to even earn free drink cards. Yet we both qualify for at least an inside room on NCL. First time we qualified for a balcony but that was 6 years ago. Now it's just an inside room. Are slots rated higher then tables? We don't spend or lose anywhere near the OP.

  7. H6 sounds nice but I really find we never use the living room in a two room suite. We had that on a carnival cruise and the living room even had its own TV. We never sat in there and just used it to toss out stuff on as we walked to the bedroom. Was a complete waste of space for us but I know many enjoy the seperate room. I'm thrilled we are finally staying in the Haven and so close to everything. I am just hoping there wasn't like some weird layout or something I missed. Thanks again!

  8. Thanks for replies! Yes will just be my husband and I. We do enjoy meals in our room from time to time and I really look forward to the quieter pool area. There was some aft suites available but they are too far away from my liking. The only spa suites we say had the huge tub next to the bed which I don't care for. I thought the H5 looked great for us but we worried after reading that comment. My suite is also right there at the pool. Can't wait to go. Only did a suite once before on the Dawn in a romance suite. Was very nice. Thanks again!

  9. I just got a letter from Carnival for a free premier cruise and $400 cash. What exactly is a premier cruise? It did list a party, free drinks in casino, and other extras. Is that what premier means or is the cruise itself something different then Carnival already offers? I have a choice of 10 different cruises ranging from 7 days or longer. Thanks!

  10. I'm on the Jewel next week and am looking forward to trying it out. Will I be able to post on CC using my smart phone?

Not using iconcierge. You can use data to post by purchasing a data package on the ship

  11. Id mainly use it just for the phone portion. Im the only one in my family with a smart phone so they would be calling me from ship phones.

It does say to kill off everything but wifi for it to work properly on the paperwork ive seen.

We attempted to use it for calls to home as it was only 79 cents a minute. Would lose signal by the second ring so never got to. We also

Made sure everything was off when we used it. Despite paperwork telling you otherwise this app has a long way to go.

  12. You can also get a true lobster tail at Teppanyaki. However, it's gone from Le Bistro as they have changed it to cut up lobster in a butter/cream sauce. Not worth the extra $10 by any stretch of the imagination. It was barely enough meat for an appetizer, much less an entree.

The lobster dish at Le Bistro was the best dish I had week couple weeks ago in the Getaway. We are at Cagneys twice and it didn't compare to Le Bistro. Even the other table mates agreed that everything was better in Le Bistro.
