  1. I am doing the same thing. We are a party of 8 all with UDP. I booked a specialty for every night of the cruise including the free Illusionarium on the first night. I called NCL and booked all if the plus the shows. I was told to just let the restaurant know earlier in the day if some in our party won't be dining that evening. We are sailing on the Getaway November 1st.

  2. "outside in the hall" can mean a couple of things. Either left directly outside the guest's room (not allowed - as the room service carts will not fit down the passageway), or in the larger elevator area. There are outlets there that DCL does allow use of for charging ECVs.

Personally, I wish they wouldn't even allow that, but at least they are somewhat out of the way there.

On the epic last year it looked like a parking lot near the elevators. So bad that my mom couldn't even get near the elevator. We complained and for the rest of the week they were gone. Sorry if you have an Ecv keep it in your room. We actually slid the sofa under the bed so that my moms would fit.

  3. On my last cruise, I waited until the end of the cruise to try a "Kiss on the Lips". I was upset I hadn't tried it earlier! It was soooo good! :D

Next cruise I want to try some new drinks. What are some favorites?? :)

That was and still is my favorite cruise drink go to. Never failed to get a cute response from every bartender when I asked for a kiss on the lips. Lol

  4. Shouldn't be a problem. Be aware, however, space inside the room is fairly limited. And you won't be able to wheel the chair through the door with her in it. You'll have to collapse it to get it through the door.

K thanks. We figured we would just unfold it in the hall and use out there. The cabins look spacious enough for a folding one. We went in the Epic last year and squeezed an ECV in a non accessible. Talk about a tight squeeze! Lol. This one will be cake.

  5. We are sailing on the Fantasy next week and can't wait! I rented a collapsible wheelchair for my mom which will be waiting for us on the ship. We do not have nor wanted an accessible cabin. I only got it for her if her knees act up and would like a quick trip here and there on the ships and ports. Will this be an issue in a standard balcony room? We won't be using it in the room and it will sit in there folded up. Only using it outside the room as needed.

  6. To be disillusioned means exactly that! :D

    disillusioned

: having lost faith or trust in something : disappointed that something is not as good, valuable, true, etc., as it had seemed

Lol. I've never noticed you until this thread and I must say I've never seen a bigger cheerleader. Honestly, who cares what others think of a certain cruise line. Big deal if someone doesn't find carnival perfect. No cruise line is perfect. We all can complain as much as we want and still use the cruise line. This board is for sharing info and opinions. No one is wrong no matter how you feel about it. Personally Carnival is not

for me. I could have written a scAthing trip report on it but it would brought out the cheerleaders in droves. Lol. Instead I enjoy reading all the boards and just seeing what others think.

  7. We seem to spend more on each cruise. Nicer cabins, casino , spa, drinks, specialty restaurants, even the overpriced jewelry. Lol

One question - how much "drinking, gambling, pictures, and on-board shopping" do you do ?

ShakeyB, While "It is not a rule that the longer you cruise the less of your money the cruise line gets each time.",

there is a strong tendency for most to reduce on board spending . Perhaps only the cabin category goes up with experience.

  8. I'm curious, if you don't mind.....

    would you share why?

We bought the antibiotics because DH felt a sinus infection coming on that morning. Was easier to grab some while in port. Worked fine.

  9. When we went we bought some antibiotics and no script needed. On the shelves were many other goodies that no one needed a script for. The little blue pills was flying off the shelves. Lol

  10. For all the people that hate the cutbacks and complain about them every time they cruise Carnival, why are y'all still cruising with Carnival? When a product I like changes in a way I don't care for, I don't buy it anymore.

Agreed. We sailed just once on Carnival and will never go back. It truly was a get what you pay for ship. Also was the first cruise I was happy when it ended. Lol. Don't like the cruise line try another.

  11. Book the steakhouse every night because the food and service in the MDR was awful.

Avoid the 80s trivia at the piano bar because they don't even use the

Piano. The CD will use his nifty CD player.

If you like karioke this is the ship for you!

  12. I always book my dinners and shows in advance as soon as I can. I've sailed NCL just 4 times so far but have always took the Freestyle as meaning I don't have the set dining seatings in the main dining room like other cruise lines have. I've never thought it had to do with the specialty restaurants. If you want certain times in the nicer restaurants you need to book ahead.

We are going on the Getaway in November with 2 other couples and I know where and what time we are eating every night. We all have the UDP and using it to the fullest. Lol

  13. My daughter uses I think the Pharm Store in Canada. Her dr in the US faxed the pharmacy in Canada who them ships it to my daughter in the US. She uses a medicine that costs

$800 a month in the US and only $50 from Canada. I don't think they have a brick and mortar store.
