Looking at two ship excursions, one to godafoss,Laufas folk museum and botanical gardens and the other to godafoss and botanical gardens.They are both half days so this would give us time to explore Akureyri. Just trying to decide on which excursion is best.

Interested in visiting Italian chapel and scapa flow.The ship does a couple of excursions which include these stops but time may be limited at each.Does anyone know if these can be done DIY?

Want to visit godafoss waterfall.Is this possible with public transport or do you need to hire a car? Also are the botanical gardens worth a visit.Will be arriving in Iceland in July.

When we visited Helsink we took the public bus from the port to market square and just crossed the road to the tram stop. The bus ticket also covered the tram and the ferry to the Suomenlinna Island fortress.If you are going to visit the fortress, note there are several independent ferry companies that also go to the island but these are not covered by the ticket.The trams run regular and we had no problem getting on one.Some of the HOHO buses looked very busy.

Checked out the igtours website and the only difference on the tour appears to be they do not include lunch.Looks like all tour companies use the restaurant at the waterfall stop and even buying our own lunch here, we would save about £100.Like the fact that you do not have to pay till you are on the bus and also they will get you back to the ship in plenty of time for departure.

Agree with your comments.We were never offered extra vegetables by our waiters and noted portions were smaller.Wine service was slow and sometimes glasses not refilled. Had to ask.

Agree with what you say.The cruise schedule showed Azura docked at the pier, not at anchorage and therefore expected us to use the sea walk.We were the only ship due at geiranger that day and I thought I had misheard the captain when he said we would be using the tenders, but checked down on deck 7 and tenders were deployed over the side ready to be lowered as we approached geiranger.It appears we were due into geiranger the previous day when celebrity eclipse was also there but the ports of Flam and geiringer were changed around. As stated the captain was not pleased with the port authority but managed to take us to Hellesylt which we enjoyed.

Nice to meet everyone at the cc meeting and thanks to Dai for organising it.Hope to see you all on a future cruise.
