  1. Parking at the port is quick and easy, and right next door, but as you mentioned expensive at $17.00 per day.

Note that they will charge you for the day you disembark.

Our 4 night cruise on carnival in September was $85.00

I expect the same next week on the Divina.

Parking is much cheaper off site, but with COVID, I wouldn't chance the bus ride, but that is just me.

  2. I should have known better...

Friends of ours are joining us on our Divina cruise next week and are cruise virgins.

So, I figured what better way to welcome them on board than with the Asti and Strawberry Package!

Looked all over the website and of course you cannot do it online.

Well, you can, but not as a surprise.

    Simple solution. Call Customer Service.

    No, wait, this is MSC!

The Customer Service Rep tells me they cannot add a Bon Voyage gift without it showing up on their documents as a purchased service!?!?!?!

I say every other cruise line will do this and she tells me, she never ever had anyone ask this before!?!?!?!

Her suggestion is to go to Guest Services when I board and MAYBE they will get it the first day!?!?!?!

I'm starting to think that maybe MSC contracts out their Customer Service in the USA to a third party

More than likely Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (It is PRES, but is often listed with two S's.  The difficulty is onset of sudden seizures, loss of vision and altered mental state.  Had a relative with this, and it is not easy to deal with.  It could very well preclude the ability to share a room comfortably with a roommate.

    Thank you

Definitely not like 30 yrs ago when the majority dressed for formal night.

    Sad, but true ☹️

We always go formal, even on short Carnival cruises.

I love it when we walk by and the wife/girlfriend gives the husband/boyfriend the elbow it the gut, kind of like a "see, why couldn't YOU dress nice".

Also works good when we stroll into the casino, like Bond and Moneypenny.

Fun playing Bond and Moneypenny later too!!! 😇

I was on Divina 10/17.  White Night was the only formal night which I thought odd (and I believe that was followed by the White Party).

So perhaps we should leave our evening gown and tuxedo at home?

This works out great for me!

I'm bringing my White Dinner Jacket.

If "Formal" is the same as the White Night I'll fit right in.

If you are on the Nov 7th Divina cruise and you see a guy totally out of place in a White Dinner Jacket, that will most likely be me!

What day do the new Winter 2021 Drink Packages start in the Caribbean (specifically curious to see Easy Plus menus)?

Not sure of the exact date either, but I know for our Divina cruise on Nov 7th, it is Easy plus.

As simple way to check would be to start a mock booking and click on the "All In" price, it will list what is included like the snip below:

We tried to reach out to a crewmember who is on the ship now to see how the salsa cruise is going but the email bounced.

I wonder how many passengers there are

If you go to the FB page for Nov 7th a crew member has mentioned to someone's inquiry that there is 1600 on board for the Salsa

Looks like people for 11/21/21 cruise on Divina out of Port Canaveral have embarkation times ranging from 2 to 3 pm. Ship docks at 7 am. Is the cruise terminal really sticking with that late time frame, or can we arrive earlier? Yes I know not at 7 am lol.

read the thread below...there is a lengthy discussion on thoughts about the 3 PM check-in time.

I still stand by my bold comment that if you arrive before your (last received) allocated time, then do not complain if you have to wait. That surely is sensible and I can't believe people would even argue about it - no doubt those same people will be moaning if they are forced to wait too.

No one that has responded is complaining that they will have to wait, and no no one is arguing about THAT, (bold, caps).

The point that is being made is that MSC obviously has no clue about their own boarding procedures, and if we all arrived at the 3PM time we have been given the mass chaos that you would have us avoid, will actually happen.

    Kind of apocalyptic.

If we are told to wait, WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT, (bold, caps).

We'll just go to the bar down the street and have a few while we wait and laugh about it.

Why not just work with the cruiseline, abide by their system and then enjoy your cruise.

I know folks in at least a dozen cabins that are going on our Nov 11th sailing on Divina, and all have been given 3PM check-ins, some have booked early and some, as late as Thursday.

Based on my statement above and others here on this board, abiding by their rules may net the same hordes that you mention above.

I was also on a cruise in September, albeit Carnival.

The check-in time on our boarding passes was 11:30-12:30.  Which we adhered.

There was a sign for people who were early to go wait elsewhere, (outside?)  no one was there, yet literally hundreds of people were jammed trying to check in.

I doubt we all had the same time.

We always follow the rules, but not this time.

I only live about an hour away from Port Canaveral and will have another couple in the car with us, also with a 3PM.

I am in no hurry, we will get there when we get there, and it will be before way earlier than 3PM.

Witnessing MSC's paperwork and computer bumbles first hand, I doubt even they have a handle of what is going on.

If MSC wants an orderly embarkation, they need to review their internal procedures.

  11. Like others I have been having problems getting my e-tickets to print for our Nov 7 Divina cruise.

But for some reason I have been getting copies sent to me daily, sometimes two or three times a day since October 7th.

    I think I figured it out...maybe.

When I go to print my tickets and click all the way through, the system tells me at the top that my docs are not ready and area on the bottom to email or print is grayed out.

What I did notice a week or so ago is that my city is not listed correctly in the system, so I went in and corrected it.

    I received a new conformation, and e-tickets!

Went back in and did the same for my wife.

Again, I received a new conformation, and e-tickets!

For the last few days I have been clicking around in the info section, but not making any changes.

Within minutes I always get a new conformation, and e-tickets!

I just tried again this morning, and it generated paperwork for me again.

You may want to give this a try, it may work for you, nothing to loose really.

    Did you ever find out?

No, I gave up on it as it was not a solid offer but a bid and did not want to give up my aft on deck 10 in case I did not get the suite.

As odd as it sounds, not really interested in the YC

  13. We were on that sailing also, and I will agree for the most part with your review.

We cruise quite a few different lines on a regular basis, and I really like the food on Carnival.

I agree that it has gone down a step, and my wife commented on the different ways they tried to change up the beef brisket from the first night.

One thing, at least to me, they changed the fries somehow at Guy's, they were still good, but not as I remember.

Red Frog Pub was a real winner, Steakhouse was superb, and the service all around the ship was fantastic.

Did not care for the comedian, DJ Whatever, but based on the laughs, I was in the minority.

    Thanks again
