  1. Wednesday go to Freedom City. You'll have more fun.

Thanks Drake.... we will not be there until next February so you can see I am a planner. If you are around stop in and we will buy you a drink.

  2. Do you have a preference of port side versus starboard? You may want to include in your final decision the location. I would go for 2254, 2258, or 2392.

Personally I would not book 2306 or 2333 because when I look at deck plans they seem to be right on the edge of the galley and I would not take the chance. BTW I am looking at cruise deck plans where you can drag the decks on top of each other.

2254 and 2258 are the closest to guest services and port side. More towards the front of the ship.

2287 is starboard and in the lobby bar area.

    2353 is under the galley.

2392 is under the Blush dining room which is right off the lobby as you walk to the back of the ship.

2317 in under the Sapphire dining room. (Aft/back of ship)

  3. First of all both cabins were booked with one credit card at the same time, same last name, immediate family with a "request" not a guarantee, for nearby cabins & same dining times. There were cabins available nearby & on the same deck, I counted over 10 nearby same categories. Not only were we assigned different decks, we were also assigned different dining times. 24 hours after booking I was assigned these cabins, 35 days before sailing. Carnival was contacted to see what could be done, if anything, about the dining & cabin concerns. The only reason I mentioned being platinum is because like many other loyalty programs there are some perks. I UNDERSTAND what a guarantee is, and yes, I got two OV guaranteed rooms. My issue with Carnival was with offering to downgrade and being asked to pay $300 for a lower category when cabins were available. The situation has been remedied and I am glad the administrator deleted so many of the hateful remarks. I have nothing else to say. End of story.

I am not sure about your situation but the reason that you may have to pay for a downgrade is because sometimes when you book a guarantee cabin the rate is lower than what the current rate is for a particular cabin that you may want.

An example was my last cruise on the Breeze. They had a balcony rate of $470 for a guarantee cabin during a 35 hour sale. We were assigned an 8a cabin. My husband asked me to call and see if we could move to a cove balcony which would be considered a downgrade to a 7C. I thought we may be able to move for free since we were asking for a downgrade.

We were told that if we wanted to move to that cabin we had to pay the current rate which was $729. So it would have cost us $259 each for a total of $518. If you want to move from a guarantee you can but it will cost you the current going rate. We decided to stay put.

I was not mad at Carnival I just chalked it up to a lesson learned. It is not their fault. I got what I paid for. Ended up we loved the location of our cabin and had one of the best cabin stewards ever.

  4. Hi all,

recently I talked my parents into going with us on a cruise on the Breeze this June...they booked an aft cabin on the 6th deck, 6467 I believe...basicaly one of the center most cabins, has a couch chair etc. The carnival cruise consultant made some sort of error and to correct it, she "Upgraded" them to room 7461...apparently this room has no couch, no table and from all the reviews I found is significantly smaller, (although larger balcony). The end result is my parents are very much not pleased....had I not been going, they would have canceled. I am trying to reach out to the agent as its the one that I told them to talk to...no more aft cabins available now either. Is this something that Carnival will more then likely say deal with it, or would you think there may be a possibility of we are polite nice etc of getting them an upgrade at no charge to like a spa 9 balcony? (Or if anyone else has any other adivce on getting them thier old room back which they said they could not do now...)

All you can do is ask. If they were in 6467 and were upgraded to 7461 that is a great deal. Cabin 6467 is an interior cabin.

Cabin 7461 is extended aft cabin. We love these cabins. The view is awesome and it is quite back there. It is only 3 decks up to the Lido and the elevator is not all that busy back there. If they are not able to move hopefully they will enjoy the cabin even without the sofa.

There are a few pictures on cruiselinerooms dot com maybe this will help. Maybe it will not look as bad as you think it will be and the extra balcony space is very nice. They do not have a sofa.

  5. in Juneau we did the whale watching with Harv and Marv and then walking around town afterwards. We stopped at Tracy's Crab Shack and had some awesome crab cakes and lobster bisque.

In Skagway we rented a car and drove up to Emerald Lake. We stopped for lunch in Carcross at Chilkoot Bakery. The food was very good.

Ketchikan we walked around town and down on Creek St we took a tram up to a hotel and then walked a trail back to town. It was a nice day.

Victoria we just walked around town. I had planned on taking a carriage tour but never got around to it.

My favorite excursion was one through Carnival. It is where a small boat comes up to the ship when you are out in the Fjords and it takes you up close to the glaciers. It was called The Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer. I loved it but it is chilly so dress warm if you go.

  6. Not sure what line you are sailing but I noticed it in the Carnival gift shops recently. Also if you are docking at the Pam Am Pier there is a CVS a couple of blocks away. Standing with the ships to your back cross the street and go left and it is down about 3 blocks.

  7. Anyone know if its still available? We are hoping it is for us next week. We fly out of FLL and would be so nice not to handle our bags all day long.

We were on the 1/17 sailing and it was still available. Just don't forget to sign up by the deadline because they will not cut you any slack if you forget.

Out of FLL the airlines that participate are AA, Delta, Southwest, US, United, and Jet Blue.

The price is $20pp on top of your normal baggage fees.

It is great because you do not have the hassle of the luggage and when you get to the airport you can proceed straight to security because they will give you your boarding pass on the ship.

You have to be flying out the same day as the ship's arrival back and the flight has to be between 2pm and 11:59pm.

  8. We just did this tour on the Breeze about 2 weeks ago. It was $95 and 3 1/2 hours long. We booked it at the shore excursions desk. Our tour was at 9am on the second to the last sea day (there were 2 sea days at the end of our itinerary).

Some friends of our decided they wanted to go a few days before and they were sold out.

We booked the first day and I almost thought we wouldn't get to go because I could see that someone had booked a group of 14.

  9. what a shame! Hope they come back. I picked up $1000 for our upcoming cruise. Hope they are easy to apply to OBC.

You can go to Guest Services to have them applied to do it yourself on the kiosk under manage my funds. Both very easy, although I thought it was quicker to apply them myself at the kiosk.

  10. I'm not sure how to apply the Verizon egiftcards at the kiosk ...since it has the gc number and the pin number I'm assuming you have to input those to get the credit for your gc? Has anyone done this? I've got 700$ worth of gc's....would like to know what I need to do:D

I have done it and it was very easy to do. You will need to set yourself up on the kiosk.

It will ask for your folio number and you have to put in your date of birth and pick a pin number.

Once you have done that you just go to manage my funds and chose the gift card link. All you will have to put in is the number. It never asked me for the pin.

  11. There's already a large bottle of water in every cabin upon boarding. I suppose when the cabin is occupied by a Platinum, they'll simply not charge for it when it's opened.

Yep. I'm a shareholder and if this CUTBACK helps the bottom line without causing the ships to sail half full (and it will have zero impact on bookings), I don't mind at all.

I'd also be perfectly happy if they discontinued the Platinum chocolate plate. I don't eat them and always mean to go to the Service Desk and tell them to just skip me but I forget until they arrive and end up in the hallway a couple of days later. I mean, it's not like I'm going to go hungry without that plate of chocolates, right? Sheesh. Last thing I need when I cruise is more calories!

And almost always give away my Platinum gift, so I wouldn't mind it being discontinued, either.

And I don't use the laundry service, either! Honestly, the only perk I use is priority boarding and the rare tendering service. I'm such a low-maintenance Very Important Platinum Person! :p

Same here...we have given away almost every Platinum gift and never eat the chocolate platter. Have only used the drink coupons once. We use the laundry a couple of times each trip.

We like the Platinum boarding but the last few cruises the Captain's Lounge has been so crammed it is crazy.

  12. I am planning to book bio bay in mid December but I've heard that there's plenty of rainy days. Have anyone visited SJ in December? Whats' the weather like?

oops: I see you already went hope you had a good time.

We were in San Juan in December on the Freedom and it poured. The good news is it didn't last long.

We went back in January on the Breeze and it rained pretty hard for about 30 minutes and then cleared up.

The average probability that it is going to rain there in December is 68%. See link for weather.

  13. With this Fun Hub.... are you able to post pictures on Facebook while sailing for the $5.oo fee?

No you can't, if you want to do that you need to get the $5 per day or $25 for the cruise social media plan. This plan works for Face Book.

We just got off the Breeze last Sunday and had the $99 plan. I thought the speed was pretty slow and was disappointed. We used it on the Freedom last month and it was much better.

  14. Purchased Carnival Gift Cards for Black Friday - Buy $500 and get $100 on board spending - RIP OFF ALERT - Carnival does not honor their own program. My wife and I purchased each $500 on November 29th. Still to this day have not received our $200. Called 5 times, emailed several times, no response just the run around.

I have filed a complaint with the FCC and BBB.

If this has also happened to you, I am looking at filing a class action lawsuit for deceptive trade practices and well as bait an switch practices.

Again...DO NOT PURCHASE gift cards on Carnival.com, it is a rip off!

Sorry this happened to you, but I have to disagree. Many people purchased these gift cards with no problems.

Do you and your wife have a Carnival credit card because that was part of the deal? If not you would only get $50.
