    Besides that if they are advertising as grown and sexy and you've got kids, I wouldn't be happy. How do you explain what grown and sexy is to a 9 year old???

    I asked NCL agents on 3-4 occasions about what group was on this cruise. They did not seem to know. When I had found out the main group. Some NCL agents even got on their cell phone to check. I sent a letter to Miami to fuss about it 2 months ago. Still no reply.

     

    If you like partying. This must be great. "The biggest party at sea".

    2016-2017 incentive/group cruises on NCL

    I checked this spreadsheet and there are no charters posted for any NCL ship Dec. 5-14, 2017. Again all that means is that no one has posted on here about an upcoming charter. Hopefully you won't have one. Enjoy your cruise.

    It was not the ethnicity of the folks who had partial charter at all. Many were very polite and I've seen just as many rude Americans.... it was the group charter mentality and just cultural differences. they were accustomed to cramming as many as possible inside an elevator. Their traffic patterns were just overwhelming and we just were not used to the pushing and shoving where as I think that was their norm. I think they were also concerned about sticking with their group and so pushing and shoving to stay with their groups became a critical part of their days. Food was like a grab fest and it was simply overwhelming to try and eat in the buffet, stand in a line for dinner with hundreds shoving past. In the end we got used to it. They were very early risers and early to bed. When they were out it was in mass but adjusting our schedules around theirs helped or perhaps we just got used to it. It wasn't an ideal situation and not one I would intentionally put myself into willingly and pay so dearly for but it could have been worse. They weren't drunk and obnoxious. Just oblivious to western culture. I think the Chinese market is growing exponentially and so I suspect we will all be on similar vacations in the near future. If on a ship with only so much room it is impossible to escape so it would be great if we all had a little notice and perhaps some pointers to make each other's vacations a little less invasive.
    So happy to have found this site!!! Just got off an Aqua Fest cruise and some of the things I saw and heard made me want to stay in my cabin! My next cruise is Dec. 5-14, 2017. I called NCL and asked about large groups but the guy tried to get info and couldn't. I don't see it on here, but I can't get through to the sheet. It says I have to update something and that doesn't work. Anybody hear anything about this cruise? Again, thanks a lot. And please take into account I'm in my late 60's so this is just a hard adjustment.

    I did not get that from NCL. In fact both Miami and Mesa would not tell there was another large group on that sailing. The signed on number I got from the promoter.

    Well, someone on our roll call mentioned it. I wanted to know how many because I was on a previous one. I called NCL and they said around 500 at the most.

    Say we are on the sailing as you get off ! Mid-ship balcony, but booked months ago. Didn't get the deal you did. Sometimes in this sailing game. It pays to wait.
    I'll be waving at you!! Staying in N. O. to see the Saints game on Sunday. The January one you referred to has 1,000 from a special group, as in the same group I mentioned earlier??

     

    Actually, it was a last minute cruise. Had one in May booked but work got in the way so booked this one before work starts...lol...and I'm supposed to be retired! [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

    free upgrade from GTY to like you booked a regular balcony with all the perks?! :o

    1st i've heard of that since the bidding program went into effect

    I wasn't bidding for anything. They didn't have any balconies listed with cabin numbers when I booked a couple of days ago, so I had to get the guarantee. I had the perks with that one. Sorry if I wrote it wrong. When I got my paper from them it said I was upgraded to a mid ship balcony. I don't know why, but I'm not complaining.☺

    Oh yes. These fares from NOLA were higher than years past. Also the Pearl had several FULL CHARTERS booked. Not to mention the "guest groups" specials. Then the 9 day sailings thrown in. Kind of made cruising from there, limited.

     

    An NCL manager told me the higher ups really messed up at NOLA this season. The mistakes would not be repeated during 2018-2019 season.

    We shall see.

    The cruise after ours was a cruise booked for a FULL CHARTER for a band, but I forgot the name they said. They also had an ADULTS ONLY cruise out of California before the ship got to N. O. I talked to some of the staff about it. OMG!!! I'm never doing that one either!!! BTW, the group on our cruise had 500 cruisers on board.

    The "guest groups" made me stay in my cabin a lot. Good thing it was an aft...lol. Never again!
