The 4 of Us

We have a cruise on the Jade booked for October 2024 and there are no shore excursions available to book yet. When do they make the shore excursions available to book?

Very rough seas during first couple of seas days from Fiona. We missed two port stops due to Fiona. Prince Edward Island was cancelled and we went to CornerBrook New Foundland for a few hours instead. Got off the ship and was handed a 2017 tourist guide. No excursions and nothing to do there except walk into town and back to the ship. Then Cape Breton was also cancelled and we had another sea day. Very dense fog with the fog horn blaring every 2 minutes for about 36 hours. We did stop at the next 4 ports as scheduled. Sea was rough and skies very cloudy for our last sea day from Ian but ship was moving very slowly. So weather was not our friend on this cruise. Ship is beautiful, immaculately clean and well-maintained and staff is excellent and very friendly.

Has anyone noticed if any of the bars on the Joy show any of the college football games on Saturdays? I know they include the Sunday NFL Football games in the Freestyle with locations the games are shown but wasn't sure if they would also play the college games (at least the nationally televised game). If not in the bars, would we be able to watch the games on our stateroom TV's? Does anyone know what sports channels are available on the Joy (Canada itinerary)? There is a college football fan in our group and Saturday is a sea day and they are hoping to watch their alma mater's game. Thanks!

Thanks! This is helpful since we are sailing on the 10-day to Canada later this month. So Elements is only being shown 1 time each night at 7pm on the last two nights? There isn't a second show? We have specialty dining reservations both nights at 7 so would need to change one of them to make the show if they are only doing one show each night. Thanks again!

I found the below on the NCL FAQ page but it only lists a minimum height requirement. Are there any maximum height or weight limits to ride? Joy Speedway Minimum height requirement is 55" with the ability to drive alone. Food, drinks, loose clothing and personal items are not allowed. Fully closed footwear is required and shoes with high heels are not allowed.

Is it possible to get on a waitlist prior to boarding or do they only have a waitlist once onboard?

If an excursion is no longer available to pre-book on the NCL website prior to your cruise, do they hold any spots to allow people to reserve once on board or do they offer all spots online prior to sailing? We are going to book an alternate excursion but was just wondering if there was a possibility of there being spots available for our first choice once we board. Thanks!

Does the pricing of the Specialty Dining Packages change as you get closer to your sail date? Increase or decrease? Is there an advantage of purchasing the dining package now instead of waiting until close to sailing? I can't remember if they go up or down? Do they ever go "on sale"? Also, if you wait until you board to purchase the dining package is that price the same as the price you can purchase them at prior to sailing? We get several nights already with the Free at Sea program and our Latitudes status but would like to purchase a few more nights and trying to decide if we should just purchase now or wait. Thanks!

Thanks! I should have been more clear. I did know that it is supposed to be 130 days but wasn't sure if they were actually opening it up that early since I thought I had read since covid that reservations weren't always opening up as scheduled so was looking for any recent experiences.

When do dining reservations open up on the Joy if staying in the Haven? We are sailing on the Joy in September 2022.
