  1. May I ask what you did not like about Vision? Just wondering since she will soon be just 3 hrs away from us and am considering a 5 day on her.....

For me, I didnt like that it had only 2 pools. They were soo packed we never had a chance to get close.. I prefer Voyager class & up.. Also, I like ships that have a promenade.

  2. What type of ice cream is on the Harmony? Is it only available in MDR? Is there a soft serve machine by the pool area? I also hear there is no ice cream parlor like there was on Oasis/Allure for a fee. Is this true? I realize this may not be an important question to many but with 1/2 our cruise party being six years old this is a huge deal!!!!

Yes, there are 2 self serve machines by the pool deck area..Also, my kids got ice cream in the WJ. No Ben & Jerry's. Plenty of ice cream to be had..lol Have fun!!

  3. I agree that Tropicante is the place to go....good food, cold beer, and great owner and staff...Steve, the owner, will be out visiting most of the day talking to guests and making you feel at home.......:)

How is the beach there? A lot of sea grass in that area? & is it an easy place to get to?

  4. So I have a crazy situation I hope someone has been thru before and can help..Our family along with 2 other family members are booked on Harmony in March. The 1 family member, my husbands parents had to cancel for medical reasons. My father in law has stage 4 cancer & is just too weak now to travel. The other family members were booked to help care for him as she is a nurse so they want to cancel now also. They both have insurance thru Royal. The one family member called to cancel but was told they can't cancel their reservation because it is "tied" to the parents & they must cancel first. Each reservation was made separately & paid for by the different family members.. I don't understand why they won't let my sister in law cancel or even give her the number for the insurance place. It would all be solved if my mother in law would call & cancel but she is consumed with medical things with my father in law at the moment. Anyone have advice as to why they are not allowed to cancel or give out the phone number for insurance?? Should she just call back & ask for a supervisor??

    Thanks for any help!

  6. A2 is the fitness center.. There is a map on line that I saw..

Great review! I'm enjoying your photos of a variety of places and your information.

I'm scheduled for my cruise on HOS April 29th on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Looking forward to it, despite some mixed reviews about the ship.

You mentioned some great sea/ocean views on top of the pool deck/deck 16 (Is that is by lounger chairs there?),

the Solarium deck 14 (How do I access that?)

and by the Sports Deck. (Is that deck 15 aft??)

Do you know if there is an open air view/spot to take in the view of the wake of the ship at the aft end of deck 5/running track like there was on Oasis of the Seas?

Do you have any other neat spots to see/investigate on the ship?

Just curious if you know where Muster station AO2 is located?

Hope to glean some of your knowledge.

    Thanks in advance.

    Happy cruising.

  7. Hey fellow cruisers......I'm sure there's a thread out there about this topic, but I can't find it. If anyone can send me a link they might know of, I'd certainly appreciate it. And if not, does anyone have any first hand knowledge about the Royals Baby and Tots Nursery on Harmony of the Seas? We are sailing next January with our kids, and our son and daughter-in-law have a baby who will be 13 months old when we sail. As any parent, it's a concern to leave your toddler with someone you don't know. However, I'm sure RCCL has a wonderful program, otherwise there would be lots of negative reviews about this topic. I would appreciate any feedback you have. Peace of mind is the greatest!

We are sailing in March with family..will have a 14 mo old so I can let you know how it goes. :)

  8. Just a little warning, and the reason that if we do cruise with babies again, we'd have the parents bring their own pack n play

We were on the Anthem in July with extended family. My son and his family, and my daughter and her family, each requested a pack n play. We confirmed the week before because I'm a worry wort :p:p and knowing it was a peak family cruise time I wanted to be sure they would each get one and that they'd be in the cabin on arrival as it would be both babies nap time right after the cabins opened. I had read on CC that sometimes, especially during family heavy cruises they run out and you wouldn't find out until it was too late. The babies were 10 and 11months old so there would be no where else for them to sleep.

When we got to our rooms (we were all in a row) the pack and plays weren't there. They talked to their room steward, he said that it might not be until late in the evening 'if' they would get them at all since he heard the we 'short pack n plays' for our cruise. My son and daughter explained that we had confirmed and double checked that we would have them and that they would be in the room when they arrived. He said he would see what he could do. (Our steward Mariano was absolutely amazing and so helpful throughout the entire cruise) Shortly thereafter, they did receive the p-n-p's. the one my daughter received was broken (one side wouldn't stay up and it was missing a pad in the bottom cushion) when they called housekeeping to request a new one they were told there were no more pack and plays available. Mariano was a huge help and brought extra sheets and towels to make up for the missing pad, we are a family of engineers and we figured out a way to keep that collapsing side up. It was not an ideal situation, but they made do and my granddaughter slept fine all week.

The second problem.. my grandson came down with hand foot and mouth towards the end of the cruise. We can only assume it came from the pack n play, both babies had used the infant play room, another place he could have caught it, but she didn't.

If it is not terribly inconvenient, I would bring suggest you bring your own.

Thank you for the information.. Since we are driving & not flying, bringing our own sounds like the best idea.. :)
