  1. Thanks for your reply. We only deal direct with Princess - never used a TA as I prefer to be able to change things myself rather than going through another person. Will keep an eye on it over the coming month to see if anything changes.
  2. I have been reading these boards with interest. I have just checked the two cruises we have booked for 2024 and 2025 and have noticed that our travel summary is updated and would like to put a question out there. Can anyone answer what DND - Internal use only is?? For our cruise in September 2024 (11 days) we have been charged $15.95 AUD and for our cruise in May 2025 (15 days) we have been charged $21.75 AUD. We have purchased the Plus package for both cruises and there is no mention of the 2 extra dining at Alfredos in the listing. Just curious if this is the activation charge that has been mentioned for using Ocean Medallion delivery?
  3. FINALLY - they have removed the cruise. Can’t believe they left it up for a week after notifying people. Feel sorry for those who bought a cabin in good faith during that time. Thanks Arxcards for sharing all your insights in this whole matter. You have helped us hopefully still have a great cruise next year fingers crossed.
  4. Well said and exactly my thoughts. All they have to do is change it to currently not available like they do so often with other ones. When they changed our cruise from 12 to 11 days the cruise disappeared completely off the website so it can be done (I checked when I received the email notifiying me of the change to see what was exactly listed).
  5. Stu i am sorry that this has happened to your group. We were booked on this cruise too and it was only through Arxcards mentioning it on these boards that I caught the possibility of the cruise being cancelled. We were travelling with friends and both of us contacted Princess to be told that the cruise WILL be going ahead. My friend was even told that to cancel it would cost the company too much compensation. The fact that the cruise is still up on the website clearly shows that they are only interested in taking your money even though the cruise is not happening. I know that they can only give out what information the company gives them but if we are asking surely they should be questioning management. We decided to transfer to the one in Sept leaving from Perth and luckily managed to get the same category of suite but even that has now been dropped to 11 days and we are hoping that nothing more gets changed.
  6. Hello again Arxcards - well you will be thrilled to know that Princess lied outright to me. I just checked the roll call for the October 18 cruise from Singapore to Perth to discover that it has been cancelled!!!!! It is still showing on the website however. The poster said that they have been offered the same cruise from Singapore on September 26th - so that means the Coral is not going into dry dock there. The plot thickens. Luckily we transferred to the 15th September cruise from Perth but have already lost one port making it an 11 day cruise. Who knows now if even that one will go ahead. Wish they would be more truthful!
  7. Know how that feels. In Jan this year on the Grand we arrive at check in and they can't find our Medallions. Oh that would be because they swapped our room and didn't inform us at all even though we booked directly from the website - no TA. Went to Guest Services immediately asking why we have been changed and was asked do I have any proof that I booked that room. Well of course I do - produced my booking confirmation and also showed them the app which still had our old room listed. After disappearing for 10 minutes they come back and say we were swapped because the room needed repairs. We then queried how our luggage would get to the new room - they organised for it to be transferred (was the quickest delivery of luggage on any cruise yet) and then asked what compensation they were going to give to us for not informing us of this change. They gave us a free day in the Sanctuary (very nice but had to move our loungers as I don't sit in the full sun thank you) but had to revisit the desk several more times. One being that my Medallion did not open the door of the new room but hubby's did. We then tried our old room and yep I opened the door to discover that a phone was on the desk being charged and as it was a suite the welcome canapes had been delivered - under repairs my foot!!! The second thing being the that Medallion app was not updating our room number so anything we ordered would be delivered to the old room. Whilst the desk personnel were only doing their job and telling us what their boss was instructing them we felt very miffed that our integrity about which room we booked was called into question. So the moral of the this story is yes you need to take all paperwork because you never now when you will need it!
  8. Arxcards Thanks for replying so quickly - it is appreciated. Yes I am with you that it will probably be cancelled. This is the second time we have tried to cruise from Asia - first being cancelled with the dreaded pandemic and now this! Think I will forget trying to cruise there - lol. Will sit and see - luckily have a few months up our sleeves to still get a full refund if we cancel. We have friends travelling with us so will ask them what they want to do also. Hopefully other people start asking Princess as well and it forces them to come clean.
  9. Hello Arxcards May I please ask where you got your information from about the Coral. I am asking because I am booked on that cruise from Singapore on the 18th October and was shocked to read it. I contacted Princess and of course have been told that there is nothing on the communication sheets to say that it is being cancelled. I did ask what is the ship doing between Perth and LA as no cruise is listed so does that mean it is sailing empty? The reply was “ I can not advise you on this”. Even asked who I could escalate this issue to and was politely told it could not happen. Explained that I didn’t want to spend money on airfares and hotel accomodation, as we were going to spend a week there beforehand, to find out that it has been cancelled. The rep even said that they could move another ship into the spot but with all the itineraries released can’t see how that can happen. Any information will be helpful in deciding whether to cancel and just fly both ways to still enjoy Singapore. Thanks.
  10. I can understand your frustration too. We sailed on the Grand in January and were not only Elite but had a suite as well. The port person in charge of the Suite/Elite line said because our boarding passes were green we were not entitled to enter that queue. We argued the point politely with her and gave up in the end and had to snake our way through general boarding. I tried to show documentation by she would have none of it. As Aussies are not permitted to order a Medallion and have it shipped I had nothing other than the paperwork to prove my status, that is why the paper boarding passes were good. Another thing that we feel miffed about is that there are NO Elite Lounges in Australia no matter what port you sail from and we can't count the number of times we have had to fight to get priority boarding! Honestly I think Melbourne is the worst port in dealing with this.
  11. Thanks Capriccio for the screenshots. I tried 3 times on my laptop and once on my iPad and got my same screenshot. I will switch every thing off and try again. Glad to see there are plenty available. Want to spoil hubby for his birthday by doing a quick cruise. Hopefully I get your screen next time.
  12. Anyone else getting this for a 3 day seacation ex Sydney, Saturday March 29, 2025. Clicked on Suite then Penthouse Suite and this comes up - it is not even in the right area for Royal Princess as the suites are mid-aft. Unfortunately this is one of many issues I am now seeing with the Princess website - how do they expect us to book if they can't get it right?
  13. Here is something for everyone to think on that I got told yesterday. We bring our children up with Stranger Danger and all that it entails - so why then do we encourage them to go knocking on strangers doors to collect lollies!
  14. Yes it is a perk that a lot of people are not aware of. We only discovered it because they bought both minibars to our cabin on a cruise and when we asked why there were two we were informed of the perk. We were also told we could swap one or both of them out but had to ring Room Service to get it arranged. Have not heard of anyone getting a soda package in exchange only swapping them out for cans of soda. Good luck if they have managed that.
  15. Sorry Sinbad you are wrong - if you are in a suite and are Elite you get two minibars. We swapped one out for the coffee cards and took the other one home (being the little alcohol bottles). They don’t give you both at the same time so you need to ring Room Service to get the coffee cards added. The cabin steward will help tell you how to do it.
  16. Hmmm - I noticed this report on the news and thought I would need to renew mine for our Jan cruise as it expired in December. Submitted the paperwork and was approved and processed in two weeks. Mind you Australia Post then took two weeks to get it to me! So I lost 7 months of my previous passport. Maybe new passports are taking longer but my renewal didn't.
