Does IOS really have 4 production shows? I haven't been on her since 2009 and that was a 6 night. However I just booked a 7-night E. Caribbean for next summer. I know she has been in Europe for the summers, but does anyone have experience with a 7-night IOS sailing that can shed some insight on how many production shows they do for that cruise?

I think it will be 3 shows for a 7 day cruise.

Would be interesting if they will change the production shows on Voyager while it's getting her current refurbishment,

we sailed on both Voyager and Rhapsody in the last 12 months and they both had the same production shows as each other

The Belize officials will come aboard and randomly select people to check. If then people they select have a birth certificate they will be called to guest services.

They said that Belize contacted our ship this morning about collecting passports. We will be arriving an hour early to allow more time for this process. We are supposed to go down to guest services any time before our departure from Honduras tomorrow. They scan your sea pass and then the passport. I will report back about how the collection process goes.

will someone please post which nites are the formal nights?

Captain Clouse just announced that they need to collect all passports before our arrival in Belize.

Having a great cruise! Crappy weather today but it should clear up for tomorrow in Honduras.

Perhaps this is a question best answered by others who have sailed on the Oasis before.

 

I also believe that it might depend on your preferences and whether you were personally affected by the changes. We heard about lots of passengers whose room was changed when they had personally taken great pains to select a specific cabin. Ellie is affected by the smell permeating much of Deck 17. Last night we spoke with others who loved sushi and their favorite restaurant that serves sushi is closed. As I mentioned earlier, Johnny Rockets music is not working. The casino was affected by updates that were not completed in drydock (ex. the roulette tables listing of prior numbers selected). Even for us who have never sailed on this ship, we can see rooms that are closed or incomplete. In fact, it is quite interesting that "drydock" has become the pet reply when there is any type of problem.

 

I will let other fill in the rest of the details.

 

P.S. One more note about the Meet and Mingle. Last night we went to the Rock and Roll Party in Studio B. They had covered the ice skating rink with a dance floor. If they had the capacity to do that, why did they leave it uncovered for the Meet and Mingle? I don't get it.

 

By the way the Rock and Roll Party was fabulous.

It takes hours to cover the floor as they have to move it a few feet and then wait for the floor to match the temp of the ice or else it would have melted. You said it was a last minute change so they probably didn't have the time to get the floor covered, especially if there was an ice show the previous night.

Ill chime in, I also thought Once Upon a Time is one of the better production shows, not my favorite but in my top 10 for sure!

I decided not to go on the inaugural sailing of the Quantum out of principle and national pride. Royal Caribbean is taking this new ship out of the USA and sending it to China permanently.

Okay? Every new ship is not required to sail from the US.

I feel that each ship should have different entertainment. Once upon a time sucks btw

Each ship will have different entertainment, Quantum will have Mamma Mia for one cast (aprox 6 months) and then the show will move to the Allure, while Quantum will receive either another broadway show or something different.

It's the new show on Oasis. Some people like it. Many don't. Unlike most Broadway-type shows, Cats is done with recorded singing/music (with the possible exception of "Memory". The acrobatics are fun to watch, but there's no way they could sing at the same time they are flipping and jumping, etc. so it's all pre-recorded, and not the live feel you usually get with the shows. It's cheap to produce because you don't need "real" actors, singers or dancers, just people that have taken basic gymnastics. The one memorable song ("Memory") was not even written for the show. The other songs range from annoying ear-worms to OK. The lyrics are not particularly interesting or deep (see sample below), and there is no real story to the show (it's based on a collection of poems).

 

I think Cirque du Soleil does the mix better. They have live singers (which don't do acrobatics) and musicians, along with the acrobats.

With my luck, they will then move Mama Mia to the Anthem for our next scheduled RC cruise!

 

We will be on the Quantum in March 2015- any Bway show? We will be on the Allure (again) Dec 2015. So based on what you are saying, we will only see Mama Mia on the Allure once, unless we sail on her again. Now I am confused as the Quantum advertises Mama Mia and states nothing about May.

Anthem will have the show "We Will Rock You"

The Hairspray page is still active when you type in Hairspray in the address bar, but it says access denied. Maybe they are redoing that page to include the details for Freedom?

According to the Royal website Mamma Mia will be moved to Allure during it's dry dock next summer. Will Chicago be moved to Quantum?

Why are you choosing to be negative? If you do not like the Broadway shows that is fine, but many people (including myself) enjoy them.

Hmm, there is also a Disney ship in port though.

The Ex and the En will both be starting cruises on Nov 24. What terminals will be used?

Has anyone joined the ship at a later port? In our situation it would be 1 person joining Allure in Nassau on day 2. On Royal's website it just says you have to have it pre arranged, any other info?

Just because Cats if a full length musical that has nothing to do with costs. It's still one cast that performs 2 separate show, just now one of them is longer. No more additional salary to pay. It is either most likely not loaded or no longer needs reservations.
