We always arrive a day early. It relieves stress about weather worries. And we are more rested when embarking which makes Day One more enjoyable.

I received an email indicating someone commented on a topic.. After going to the post, I received this error code, saying I wasn’t authorized to view the content. And I WAS logged in.

Just to clarify, is it true that Flight Ease flex fares are not locked in and may increase before final payment?
-
My understanding is that policies are rare and expensive that reimburse
full cruise fare if a flight is delayed or canceled and there is no way to get to the sailing or catch up
at another port. Is this true?

This is good to know. I never tried the airline discount either pre-cruise.

Try the Renaissance on 17th. We have stayed there quite often and we pleased with location/restaurants, and Walgreens across the street.
I feel that the pre cruise hotel stay is part of the vacation so would rather pay a little more and stay somewhere safe and clean.
We were happy with the Renaissance 2 weeks ago. A minor complaint was low water pressure in the shower. I did note airline personnel staying there,

I have another question. Let’s say my flight is cancelled and there is no way to make alternate flight arrangements to get to the ship on time or pick up the ship at a later port. Which dollar limit category should I be searching the insurance policy for to see if the entire cruise fare would be reimbursed?

We were there 2 weeks ago. We took a short taxi ride to Solorbon Beach.
Umbrellas, chairs and food..very relaxing.

We stayed two weeks ago at the Renaissance Cruiseport Hotel. Very close to ships, good restaurant and comfortable room.

We discovered 2 weeks ago that Terminal 2 at FLL is a food desert. So if you arrive there, consider what may be a short walk to an adjacent terminal for food,

I was recently on the Nieuw Statendam and with so many dessert choices at the Lido Market,
time slipped away and I didn’t try the cupcakes, which are a favorite dessert. How are they?

While much truth has been posted about the shortcomings of CC, I love the fact that if I post any cruise related question, I more often than not receive helpful responses. And God Bless CC for helping me find some wonderful pre-cruise hotels! And connecting me in Roll Calls with many who have become friends.

I’m buying comprehensive cruise insurance and will purchase nonrefundable air tickets. Is it necessary to
purchase flight insurance from the airline?

On a Celebrity kitchen tour many years ago I was told that foreign crew often cooked their native dishes onboard...

I found this online about AirPlus with no other details.
Could it be a defunct program?

I’m considering booking air through HAL for the first time. Is there any common wisdom as to which of these optiins yield lower fares?

Thank You. I’m sad. I have fond memories of my two stays there. Such a nice family.

This was our favorite hotel there. But the website isn’t functiining for reservations, and some site indicates it has closed.
Does anyone have any information?

at that hour we weren’t hungry...after disembarking we went to Terminal 2 at FLL...a food desert. I wish there was Breakfast Direct!

Luggage Direct worked out perfectly on Wednesday. Though I wish I could have disembarked later than 7:30 am. $25 a person is such a good price for the service.

This article alleges that ship workers often eat low quality food. Is this an isolated or widespread practice?

True! Every time I search for a future cruise, I have technical issues or get lost down a rabbit hole.
-
I wish that there was a simpler method. Perhaps a programming change to the HAL website that would auto archive a passenger’s past ship statements,. Or just auto email final statements like some hotels do. Do other cruise lines do either?

There were supposed to be late corrections to my account but I didn’t have time to view the final account before disembarking yesterday morning. Where can I find the final statement?
Flight Ease concern
in Holland America Line

Hi -
I have found this thread very helpful. A family member on our upcoming cruise
just booked June flights to Amsterdam through FlightEase. I’ll warn her about going into the HAL account later and pressing the wrong button.
Just to clarify, she can book seats once she receives the airline number?
Will that be emailed to her right away?
How will she find out the final airfare price?
