  1. We always do inside cabins and Lido is my preferred deck. In fact we will be on a Lido Deck cabin on the breeze next Feb. All the Lido insides are booked for that cruise already so I am glad I booked early.

You really do feel close to the action on the lido and we have never had any noise issues in that location. Really cant go wrong with it.

  2. Of the 3 past guest parties I have been invited to, I have only gone once (last year) and I am glad I did since the policy is changing.

I would feel a lot better about the change if the free drink could be used at any bar - at any time - on the cruise.

  3. In Feb, we were on Deck 10 (Breeze) and our steward was Linda. She was the best we have ever had. We had never tipped beyond the standard grats prior to this cruise, but Linda got a little extra.

She even went out of her way to stop and say hi to us on the streets of Aruba, when she noticed us walking by. She was great!

  4. I concur with the last two posters, we loved our Breeze cruise this past Feb.

I would say that you have to be intentional about your lunch options if you want to try everything. C-Side BBQ is only on sea days, and the Italian is free at lunch

Luckily for our cruise, Guys was open in the evening as well as they served taco's at the Blue Iguana in the late afternoon, which helped us get everything in.

    You will love the Breeze!

  5. A few years ago I would have agreed with you on the coffee not being very good. But I found that I actually liked the coffee on the last two cruises. I drink it black.

Was it awesome? No. Was it as good as I would expect to get from your average breakfast dive? Absolutely.

On our first cruise, we went to the specialty coffee shop every day to get our fix. This year on the Breeze, we didn't need to buy coffee once!

  6. Hey Violetsmile, I had the exact same scenario today. Booked onboard for the 100 OBC, got a price drop today with the 50 OBC and now my 100 is not showing online.

I emailed the Carnival and they confirmed that although it is not showing correctly online, it is applied to my booking.

I have to say I was very happy with the support I received from Carnival today.

  7. I had an inside cabin on the Lido deck for the 2/27 Breeze sailing. Our price went down 40.00 total + the sale includes 50.00 OBC.

Just waiting to hear it was approved. It pays to check every day. The initial price was listed the same - but when I got to the point in the mock booking of choosing the cabin deck, the price to upgrade to the Lido was gone - resulting in the 40$ drop.

  8. I was on the Breeze just two sailings later and what a contrast in experiences.

I admit, we are pretty easy to please. We expect the MDR will be slower than we prefer it to be so we don't eat there every night, we seldom make any special requests from the room steward (we emptied the mini fridge ourselves) and have never ate at the steakhouse.

I think a lot of this comes down to each person’s personality. I mean, if you will yell at the Ruby Tuesdays server for slow service, you will do the same thing when you are on a cruise. I would not consider myself a door mat by any means, but when service issues come up, I try to extend the same grace I would want given to me.

Any one of these issues OP explained is not a big deal but I can see how , if you are someone who gets frustrated easy, could add up to an unsatisfying cruise.

For us however, our Breeze cruise was the best one we have had yet, so much so, that while onboard, we booked the same ship, same cabin even, for next year.

  9. I would choose the Valor, as I think St Thomas and San Juan would be nicer ports for your parents (assuming they have not already been to them on a land based vacation) Plus you would get the new port of Amber Cove.

7 Day beats a 6 day, and leaving out of FL should be warmer than leaving out of Balt.

You will have to let us know which one your parents picked.

  10. We were on the 2/14 sailing. It was our first time on the Breeze, actually first time not on a Conquest class. We absolutely loved it.

Your review brought back a lot of excellent memories. Cant wait to sail her again next year!

  11. All these posts are good advice. We booked onboard for the first time this Feb. The booking took a long time. He kept complaining about the speed of his connection.

Have as many details of what you want narrowed down before you go. I felt I had more knowledge of what the options were than the FC guy did, so I would not plan on relying on his expert advice.

It was worth it to get the OBC - plus it was a great feeling when debarking to know for sure we would be back!

  12. I get FTTF every time I can.

On our Breeze cruise a few weeks ago, really the FTTF gave us no benefit (no tender ports, no visits go GS, and we were early enough that there was no line for check in in the regular line or the FTTF line). When we got to the terminal they were giving out zone 3 boarding cards. They called zone 1 boarding less than 5 minutes after FTTF.

Yes we did go straight to our room and our bags arrived rather quickly but they also arrived quickly last year when we did not have FTTF

Regardless of this, I will continue to purchase FTTF because I look at it like an insurance policy. My goal is always to get to the port early but what if something came up and we got to the port at 1PM- the line would probably be super long. What if some issue came up and everyone was at GS, sure would be nice to bypass some of the line.

I guess in the end it is just up to each person if they think it is worth it.

  13. I had that happen also. let it expire and then rebook it. Before you place the courtesy hold again - get farther along in the booking. If you get as far as the screen where you make your dining choice before you place the hold, it should save your guests name.

I actually completed the booking with the TBD guest listed thinking I would be able to change it later. I could not, and I had to call carnival to make the change. The lady who helped me was nice and did not charge me to make the change but she did say that usually there is a fee to change the name.
