I would to see them offer this soon.  Any offers  or perks might help!   Looks like it has been over a year since anyone got this. I hope they haven’t quit doing this.

I just checked my records and on 3/29/19 I used it towards a payment on cruise.  Hoping for another soon....

I always bring my cabin mate, if not qualified to attend on her own, with me to that function, but never someone, even a family member, that is in another cabin.

Since it is supposedly specifically limited to those who have paid a lot more for their accommodations than the rest of us have and are in a suite, or have earned the right to be there by earning Platinum or Elite status thru many cruises, I consider bringing other passengers who are not sharing my cabin, to be unqualified to attend.

    I agree !!!!!

People also try to bring unqualified people with them to the Elite lounge before Embarkation.....

  3. I know Princess has the ez check to take your bags to the airport that you do on the ship.  Not sure if we are going to fly Allegiant home or Southwest.  I know the ez check covers southwest.  Guess I am wondering if there is an allegiant service at the port or a generic service that will take bags to specific airline.  I am sure I already know the answer, but I am hoping maybe things have changed.

  4. I am sailing on 2/17/19 on the Emerald.  I am elite and get the 150 free minutes.  They are offering unlimited now for $99 and Princess says regular price $129.00.  Wondering if they offer a deal when we board because we get free minutes or if I should buy the $99 plan now.  Does anyone have any clue??

    Thanks

I just checked my Amex account and there is a new "spend $500 and get $100 credit " from World's Leading Cruiselines (Princess, etc.)

Just a heads up for those of you with Amex cards.  :classic_biggrin:

Thanks for the heads up.  I checked all my AMEX cards and luckily one had the offer.  Just took advantage of the spend $750 get $150 back offer not long ago....

  6. In 20 cruises I have had two fans taken away from me.   One was in my luggage and I got called down to the naughty room.   After that I started putting it in my carry on luggage.  For quite a few cruises I never had a problem.  Two years ago in San Pedro while going thru security they spotted it in my carry on luggage and took it from me.  Last spring on the Caribbean princess I had no problem carrying a fan on...

  7. It is to me.

Coming off a cruise and heading to LAX MIGHT be the one exception where SuperShuttle isn't horrible and worth considering. The shuttles usually go directly from the port to LAX. I've never heard of them stopping to drop off passengers enroute.

I'd still use ExecuCar or ExecuCar Express.

A few years ago when we arrived in San Pedro after a cruise, we were late getting off ship. We had a pre arranged time to meet our car service. They gave us 30 minutes I think it was. They said if were not at car by then, the car would leave and we would be out the money we paid. For this reason, when we cruise into there next February I am just going to us a taxi to LAX

  8. Ft Lauderdale (FLL or MIA) and Seattle (SEA) only. And Seattle port now has an in-house program that renders paying for EZCheck all but superfluous.

Someone once posted the reasons why the laws/regulations in the state of California preclude offering the EZCheck service. Bottom line was if you are a Californian, complain to your state legislators rather than Princess about the lack of EZCheck.

Thanks for your response !!! Now I know the reason why

  9. I sent Princess an email about this earlier today. I explained that we spend time in Crooners almost every evening and that it's an important part of our cruise experience (we particularly enjoy the Broadway show tunes that are often performed). I also pointed out how popular the venue is-- most evenings we've found it packed and difficult to find seating. Even if Princess perceives that it might be good business for them to offer another up-charge restaurant (and I certainly understand their interest in doing so), it's incomprehensible that they would do so at the expense of one of the most popular evening venues on the ship.

For us, it's a deal breaker-- if a ship does not have a Crooners-like venue, we won't sail on it. If they continue to build ships without a Crooners, we'll have fewer and fewer Princess ships to choose from and we'll move to another line.

I hope that Princess gets the message and takes appropriate action. Although I'll be disappointed, I can understand that it might in fact be too late to alter the Sky... but if future builds are Crooners-less that would be very unfortunate and we'll start looking at other cruise lines.

I agree 100 %. We will NEVER sail on a Princess ship that does not have a crooners...

  10. Apparently my tastebuds are different from those of the previous posters.

I have always had the lobster tails as my main when I go to the Crown grill, and have always found them, while small, to be tender and tasty. I love the sweet smoky flavor from them having being grilled. Small, but they make up for that by serving about 4 of them. And, of course, melted butter comes with them. It's one of my favorite meals onboard.

I also think the Lobster in the crown grill is VERY good. I don't think the Lobster served in the dining room is too shabby either. On our last cruise in February, we ate in the crown grill twice. Both times we added the lobster to our steak. First time we had encountered the $10 additional charge if you wanted lobster. Both nights, our waiter did not charge us the extra $10 charge.

  11. Did forget to mention my son down lload an app to go through customs. Cam only do this with 4 hrs of dismemberment. Had special line too

Still had to show passports but he glanced at them. Very easy process too

We did not down load the App and custom agent just glanced at our passports. I went to passenger service desk to ask about App. I was told we did not need to get it. We did not see a special line when we went thru customs. Waited in a regular line and took about 5 seconds with the customs agent.

  12. The sports deck has a track (7 loops make a mile if I remember correctly). There are lanes marked for walkers and for runners and there are directional arrows so everyone is going the same direction - at least in theory. Some people are clueless and go against the tide.

And a lot of people walk 3 or 4 abreast so other walkers and runners can't get by. As you say CLUELESS !!!!!

  13. First of all let me mention this was my 27th cruise on Princess and have over the years been satisfied with the Princess product. That being said, my DH and I were extremely disappointed that Princess would put a ship with known polpulsion problems on the Panama Canal itinerary as the distance between the ports necessitate shortened port times. We booked this cruise about a year in advance, and by the time Princess notified us of the itinerary change we had already purchased non-refundable airline tickets and made our hotel reservations. We live in the Northwest so it was a big deal as we can't just mosey on down the Florida turnpike and pick another cruise.

The Caribbean Princess does have problems , it was especially noticeable in the Coral Dining room as it would shake and make loud noises. Friends of ours staying on deck 15 said that the noise, grinding etc was quite bad in their cabin.

As far as the new locks go, if you have ever seen locks built in the last 40 years , then these are not different. Very disappointing! and not interesting. The ship goes thru, then only goes a short ways, drops anchor for those doing the panama canal land tours, then goes back out. You will not even be able to see Gatum Lake. Fortunately we have experienced the old locks and they are well worth going thru. The ship returned to the industrial port of Cristobal,(because of the problems) instead of Colon. There is absolutely nothing there except a few craft tables. A terrible stop .

The Public areas of the ship were very nice and well kept up. We felt the food was very good and especially enjoyed club class as there is no wait , the service and food excellent. To us club class is well worth it and will not go on Princess again if it is not available.. We also liked the salty dog, crown grill and international cafe. We only went to the buffet once for a salad and it seemed fine. Same gripe as many others about the theater and having to go very early to get a seat. 3 shows would help this.

We were on the same cruise as you. We were certainly under whelmed with going thru the locks. Also, not impressed with Cartagena. Then we missed Costa Rica... Not real happy about the shortened time in Grand Cayman. Now we did have an awesome time.... But... Will never sail on a ship with a propulsion problem again. Time in ports were shortened because of the problem. The ship offers a revamped buffet area. It is real nice, But.... They now offer a hand washing station at the entrance way outside the buffet. They used to have sanitizer just as you picked up your plate. Also, they had an employee making sure you used the sanitizer. Not anymore.... Not a big fan of using the buffet. I have seen too many people in the restroom leaving and not washing their hands. Then presumably they possibly go to the buffet and handle the tongs to get food. I just don't understand how someone can use the restroom and not WASH their hands....
