  1. We always fly in a day early and stay in Cocoa Beach. When we did it 10 years ago, the shuttle we booked -can't remember the name of that one - (arrived around 4 p.m.) had like 2 stops on the way to Cocoa Beach, so it took us like 2.5-3 hours to get to our hotel!! But this past year, we used the Cocoa Beach shuttle and they were great. Picked us up at the airport, along with 2 other parties. They do fill the van, which makes sense. They stopped at one other hotel in Cocoa Beach before ours, which was no big deal.

On the return trip, the shuttles all have a place they pull up outside the ship dock area. It was easy to get to/find, and shaded. We waited about 10-15 minutes for a shuttle to arrive and got right on. They have all the reservations there, so they know who is coming/going.

We have stayed at the Radisson all the time (10 years ago and this past year), always clean, dependable, nice rooms. They have a nice pool too. I think this time, we'll fly in earlier so we can actually use it. Typically, we've arrived at like 6-7 p.m., eat dinner and go to bed! LOL!

There are certainly many options, these are what have worked for us.

I assume what ever hotel you stay at they will drop you off at in Coco Beach

Do you recall how much it is from airport to hotel and from port to airport? I assume it's a per person charge???

    Thanks for your help??

  2. To be honest the only perk that I find even remotely interesting is the mini bar. But priority boarding is handy.

Internet.... No thanks I want to be uncontactable.

Laundry .... The detergent gives me a rash and no way Mrs Gut will let them near her unmentionables.

Priority tendering ... Never waited long to tender.

Now some OBC, that'd be nice.

We will be Elite on our next cruise. Other than the Mini bar, I am looking forward to being able to get in the elite line at the passenger service desk. The lines there can be horrendous!!!!

  3. I agree....I was on the March 10-14 sailing as well, and it was perfectly fine. No trouble getting drinks, service was great, etc. Don't let your experience on this one oddball sailing spoil you for sailing on Princess in the future.

I was on the 3/10 sailing also. I would like to know where you were able to get drinks with no trouble? Sail away on 3/10 at the outrigger bar was nearly impossible. Sea days the same way. I have been on 15 Princess cruises and never have had to wait 20-30 minutes for a drink consistently like this cruise. There was also a lack of bartenders. I saw a lot of times only 1 bartender. Busy times they could certainly use 4 bartenders at many of the bars. Before the drink package was offered, servers were everywhere on deck trying to hawk drinks. Now, they are about non existent....

  4. Thank you for the review. We are on the Emerald in a little over a month and love hearing perspectives and opinions. I do understand that opinions, by nature, are subjective, but I love hearing them! Thanks again and I will watch for photos.

Thanks for posting the review. Very easy to read!

Sorry to hear about Princess Cays:( We're set to visit there in 3 weeks for the first time. I hope we make it.

Your not missing much if you miss it !!!!

  5. I've read a lot about Bert on here then actually was on a couple of cruises where he was on board. It seems that people either love him or hate him. Unfortunately I fall into the latter camp, but he does have quite a following and I'm glad there are those who really enjoy him. That's what cruising is all about :) He's just not my type of entertainer.

    Ditto

  6. Wow never found need to bring a fan. Ships are actually always super cold. Perhaps that's because those with the fans keep asking the crew to turn up the AC.

Not sure what ships you have sailed on but, I have NEVER felt my room super cold from the air conditioning. Unless possibly a cruise to Alaska.

  7. I have been on 15 cruises and I always take an electric fan. I always use to put it in my checked luggage until 2010. I got called down to security and they took my fan. They said it was a fire hazard. Ever since then I put it in my carry on bag I take thru security. Never had any trouble since. I would recommend taking it thru security.
