  1. Sailed the Royal twice. Usually walk 4-6 miles a day. The track on deck 18 is small. Takes 7 laps to make a mile. I got so frustrated with groups of people walking 3-4 across so they can chat. Completely blocked the lanes. Then the people trying to walk the wrong way.....

One lane is suppose to be for runners how ever a lot of people don't notice, even with the signs and markings.

It can be extremely windy. I need to wear a visor and had to hold on to it.

Finally resorted to walking the passenger hallways using the stairs forward and stern.

Probably my only complaint about the Royal.

    I agree with you 100%

  2. I’m not worried so much as in suspense. Not even an upgrade offer yet. I’m just very curious as to where we’ll land. Guess I’ll know for sure in no more than 20 days!

My biggest concern is the weather. We can't fly out until the night before. If we have bad weather in Upstate NY we could be in trouble...

  3. Melted Parmesan moulded into a bowl containing the fettuccine alfredo. See my pics. It’s really tasty, but there was so much waste that they stopped making them. Some chefs will still make them by special request, but I’ve been told no on some ships. If you order one, make sure you eat it!

Do you have to order it a day in advance or just ask your waiter when ordering?

    Thanks

  4. We are on the Regal right now. Doing a B2B. First cruise laundry came back the next day. On turn around day, we received the notice that laundry would take 3-4 Days to be returned. There are a lot of Elite on this second cruise.

Do it yourself laundry is pricey!! $3 for wash and another $3 to dry. On HAL Amsterdam, the machines were $1 for wash and free for dryers!

    Cheers, Denise

Myself, if I can afford a cruise I can afford $6 for washing and drying clothes...

  5. My friend takes a 8" electrical fan with him all the time no problem.

    Tony

Your friend has been lucky. When my fan has been taken they say I can pick it up after the cruise. Too much hassle, I have just let them keep it.

  6. I had one taken from me about 8 years ago in my checked bag. After that I started bringing one in my carry on thru security. Worked great for 8 years until we boarded in San Pedro this past April They took my fan. Said it is a fire hazard

  7. Unless you drink a lot -- and I mean a LOT, you'd have to have a drink in your hand maybe 4-5 times a day to recoup your initial cost outlay. If you have money to burn, want the convenience, and are a real or borderline alcoholic, go for it. Otherwise, I'm sure you'll find buying a drink at a time is unequivocally wiser (and leaves you time to dry out and actually enjoy your cruise sober for a day or two).

Not worth getting kicked off cruise critic to tell you how I feel about your stupid comment....

  8. It's actually a good thing that they don't have the replacement cruise available for booking yet. You would not want them to sell any cabins on the replacement cruise until they have finished moving everyone from the original cruise. That way they shouldn't have any conflicts.

Makes sense now why I can't find our 2/19 cruise.... Still list us going on the Ruby when in fact we received an email that our ship was change to the Emerald.

  9. We are booked on the Star Mexican Riviera Feb 2019. I received a call from Princess yesterday telling me that we would not be on the Star but on the Ruby instead. This was followed up with an email from Princess last night with additional information:

    VOYAGE REDEPLOYMENT

Please be advised that due to deployment changes, your voyage will now sail on Ruby Princess rather than Star Princess. Ruby Princess features the same signature Princess amenities as Star Princess, including the Sanctuary, Lotus Spa, Movies Under the Stars, International Cafe, and Crown Grill. In addition, Ruby Princess has SHARE by Curtis Stone, a fine-dining experience featuring ultra-premium meats, seafood and more! For more information on Ruby Princess, visit http://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/ru-ruby-princess/.

You will be rebooked on the new voyage, and you will receive your new booking information no later than July 19, 2017. Your cruise fare and promotions have been protected, and your new booking will be in the same category type and located in the same area of the ship. Once you receive your new booking details, you can verify your cabin location using the deck plans available at http://www.princess.com/deckPlans.do?shipCode=RU. We look forward to welcoming you aboard Ruby Princess.

We were supposed to be on the Ruby February 17th 2019 Mexican riviera. Just received a message from princess a few days ago that our ship was changed to the emerald. When I log into princess it does not show the change yet.

  10. During last promotion I made subsequent (not initial deposits) on existing bookings and got statement credits. Wonder if that's still the case. The last promo also said booked between X and Y dates. The reservation was made in advance, but payments were within the promo period.

    That's what I am hoping
