  1. It depends on a few things. On a short cruise an interior in no big deal to me. For example we are taking a repo from LA to Vancouver, 5 day. For me a balcony is not necessary. Not much to see, cool weather. In December we are taking a 10 day Panama Canal. Balcony is mandatory.  Warm weather,  so much to see.

  2. The tour takes all day. The ruins are impressive and worth the time. The coastline at the ruins is beautiful. The info the guides give you at the ruins may or may not be true. Be sure to bring sunscreen. If you are prone to seasickness be sure to take your medication before you get on the boat that takes you to the mainland. They don't call it the "Vomit Comet" for nothing.  Just a note to show my age:  years ago you were allowed to climb the ruins.

  3. We have decided to cruise Princess for our next cruise because the food on Royal has fallen so far down in all venues. We are diamond plus, so we give up a lot to cruise Princess but we feel that Princess just tries a little harder and is a bit more creative in all aspects of dining.  Their International Cafe is head and shoulders above the Promenade Cafe.  Their MDR dessert are much more creative.   The buffet offers much more variety and higher quality food.

  4. Everyone feels safe until the bad thing happens. There are over 500 Americans missing in Mexico.  When the cartels start shooting those soldiers and cops disappear,  fearing retribution.  Mexico is owned from the top down by the cartels.

  5. Sounds yummy. We did find out that they cannot make certain classic drinks that you would expect them to make. For example a grasshopper. A beautiful after dinner drink that my wife sometimes enjoys. They do not stock green creme de mint. Also a classic drink from way back in the 70's, a Harvey Wallbanger. The ship does not stock Galliano, the essential ingredient for the drink.

  6. In part, I can agree with the OP.  Food, which used to be such an amazing part of cruising certainly has gone downhill on Royal Caribbean.  Not just in the MDR.  In every venue from the Promenade Cafe all the way to room service. We have booked a Princess cruise in hopes that it is better.
