  1. let's us know what you decide. I am sure the chef could fix some dishes that are truly vegetarian, but, it is the cost for what you will be getting that might be spent better somewhere else. of course you do get a lot of wine, maybe that would make up for the lack of dishes available to you. Good luck.

Yeah, i sure will let ye no, although ill have to wait until June to try

After reading your post, I can't help thinking that it would be better to leave your "seat" for somebody else who really wants to enjoy the chef's table dinner. After all there are usually only room for 12 persons at that dinner, out of between 2000 and 4000 passengers, and many more than 12 who would really like to participate....

Thanks i truly would like to do it, as it is once in a lifetime experience but being a vegetarian it could cause problems. Thanks for your input

  2. I do not have an answer, I am not sure anyone will, but I can say, knowing NCL I am sure it is possible, but knowing what the Chef's table is all about, you may not want to spend almost $100 for a lot of food you will not be eating.

Thanks for the quick reply, i no its a lot of money to spend for food that may not be eat. I will ask on board would it cause much hassle for the chef if not ill hold out. Its just i am traveling with a chef and they would like to do it so i might just let them do it and ill hit the buffet.

  3. Just wondering how I can log onto the US version of the website from Ireland. It automatically directs me to the eu or uk one, I would love to compare prices.

When i log onto my latitudes or my ncl, it uses the us site. Then go to plan a vacation and us prices show

  4. Anymore i will book with the us site, apparently because i booked with Norwegian UK i am entered into a price lock which cant be adjusted or changed. No offers of any extras. After i booked Norwegian offered an extra 100$ on board credit for all cabins booked on selected dates on the big 3 ships which fell into my category , I asked could i adjust and was told no, then i discovered that the price dropped and i called to see was there anything i could do and was told that nothing could be done because it was booked with Norwegian UK. I am quite disappointed with Norwegian UK and will now book with Norwegian US as they seem to honor price drop requests etc.

  5. Just had another look - on top of the $12.50 OBC, you should get an extra $100 OBC (and a further $100 if you do a cruisetour).

Fingers crossed! Let us know how you get on! :D

Unfortunately my cruise consultant said i am not entitled to the offer as i booked with Norwegian Uk and it only applies to bookings made through the Miami office.

  6. Hi all,

Myself and girlfriend are traveling on the Epic this September around the med. Departing from Barcelona -Ports of call are -

    NAPLES/POMPEII - ITALY,

    CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME) - ITALY,

    LIVORNO (FLORENCE/PISA) - ITALY,

    CANNES - FRANCE,

    PALMA MAJORCA - SPAIN

This is our first cruise ever and really looking forward to it. I do have lots of questions and I am hoping you guys can help answer or give suggestions.

Hi and welcome :), we choose the epic as our first cruise July 2012 and couldn't have chosen a better cruise to be honest, we loved the ship and the freestyle cruising concept.

Drinks packages ! Are they cheaper to buy in advance or can you get a deal on them on board or can your travel agent sell you them cheaper ? And I see you are restricted to certain value drinks, is their much variety ? ie cocktails etc? on this package

We did not have the drinks package last time but can give ya an average guide line on what to expect a bottle of corona was $4.95 a bottle, but with a 22% gratuity added and 10% Spanish tax it would come to $6.09, the have specials as in a bucket of beer buy 5 get 1 one free etc. Vodka and coke as around 6$ give or take with cocktails around 8-10$ a liter bottle of water was $4. Although not allowed we did sneak a bottle of vodka on. After secuirty in Barcelona cruise terminal there is duty free and we bought a bottle there as well as wine we poped it in our roll on case and nothing was said at all. You can take wine but not spirits and pay a $15 corkage fee per bottle and can take it to your bars and restaurants while on board. Usualy cheaper than wine on board.

This year i am purchasing the Ultimate Beverage Package, all people in cabin must purchase this for each day. It is up to you if you want to pre purchase it but if ya do you wont pay the 10% tax only the 22% gratuity. If you purchase on board you have to pay the 49$ plus 22% gratuity and 10% tax per day. So if pre purchased you only pay the 49$ and 22% gratuity.

Is it advisable to book shows in advance ie Blueman Group ? or wait until you get on board ? What is the availability like once your at sea ?

We pre booked and glad we did as they have limited availability on board but reservations can be change to suit your plans. Do book cirque we booked it but decided to cancel on board as our friends didn't want to go and sorry we did as it was highly talked about on the ship. But this time ill be doing it :)

We are arriving in Barcelona airport. How much is a taxi to the port in general ? We plan to get a late flight back that night. Is it possible to stay on the ship longer? ie late check out does anyone know. If not we plan to leave our bags in the airport in lockers and head to the city of Barcelona. Is there public transport from the port to airport ? and from airport to city ? as getting taxis will see costs mount up.

A taxi to the port will be around 35 euro, i think that's what our relations paid as we stayed in Barcelona before and after the cruise and flew from Girona. We got off the ship around 9,30/10 which was one of the last groups

Last area im curious about is shore excursions ! With the ports we call to is it possible to do it yourself and tour ? In particular in Naples id love to head to the Amalfi coast but not as part of an excursion. Anyone done this before, how much is a taxi there etc.

We done everything by ourselves and never done a ship tour at all and saved money.

    For the following

    NAPLES/POMPEII - ITALY

    CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME) - ITALY

    LIVORNO (FLORENCE/PISA) - ITALY,

    CANNES - FRANCE,

    PALMA MAJORCA - SPAIN

Naples- Beside the dock in Naples there is water taxis when you exit, we took a short water taxi to Sorrento, nice little shops and cafes located here and a great place to spend a couple of hours. I think the water taxi was around 20 euro each return, there was also water taxis to capri etc.

CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME) - We joined a private tour that was shared on our roll call on here. Other people who where on the same sailing as us wanted a couple more people to share Highlights of Rome tour. We agreed at a cost of 90 euro each cheaper that the ships tours. We got to see the colleseam , the Vatican, st peters square, trevi fountain and a lot more. Others in a group had bought tickets to go into the Venus but we were happy to see them and take pictures outside them. While they went inside we walked around, ate and browsed. It was a busy tour to fit everything in but as we only had a short time in room this was the only way to do it. The port is an hour or so away from the city so look into sharing a tour.

LIVORNO- We took the ncl shuttle into Livorno town and just done some shopping and browsing before returning to the ship.

Cannes- We booked an early tender as the ship docks in the middle of the sea and just hopped on the tourist train at the port , at then end of the tour we just walked around had a bite to eat and walked back to the ship. It is also a nice area to just pack swimwear and head to the beach.

Palma- we didn't stop here but palma is a lovely town which i have visited a few times on my vists to Majorca. It has nice cathedral and shops and cafes to just walk around.

I hope you can assist me with these questions and if anyone has any hints or tips also id very much appreciate them.

Another tip if you like to chill by the pools which is packed like sardines, is get a posh pass it is 59/79$ for the week money well spent. Its an area with limited passes for non suite guests with padded loungers, daybeds and clamshells , attentive waiter service, snack food served to your lounger , misting stations etc. You will always find a lounger up there as the suites have the courtyard to lounge in, we had the same loungers all week. The best thing to do to get them is head to guest services as soon as ya board as they sell out. It was the best money spent all week

    Thanks in advance....... :)

Hope this helps from another Irish person :)

  7. Just had another look - on top of the $12.50 OBC, you should get an extra $100 OBC (and a further $100 if you do a cruisetour).

Fingers crossed! Let us know how you get on! :D

That would be great :) a extra 100$ on top of my $12.50 would be great, i may book a cheap cruise tour for another $100 thanks so much for your help. I will let ye know how i get on

  8. I checked and yes the sailing is included.

Latitudes Members get up to $150 onboard credit Latitudes Rewards Offer

    Upgrade Available Free stateroom upgrades

Thanks i am going to contact him to see what happens fingers crossed, as im in a studio i dont think i will get that much

  9. I'm the only person not named Keith on this thread.

($49 + 15%) X 7 = $394.45 per person. You would then multiply that number times the number of people you are paying for. Buy ahead of time so no tax. Hope that helps!

Ha yeah :) , good few Keith's there seems to be. Thats perfect its only myself i am paying for as were all separate bookings and in studios. TI was thinking tax was going to be added too and it wasn't sure it would be worth it.

I think you have to phone to buy it. Not done it myself, but I know people who have.

Thats perfect ill ask my personal cruise consultant to book it

  10. There are no seat allocations at Cirque. Just all turn up together early enough that there will be seats together.

The UBP will be $49 per day plus 15% gratuity and 10% tax, making 25% extra in total. Apparently, if you order it before sailing you save the 10% tax.

Thanks for that :) i thought you could only buy it on board.

  11. Just booked another trip on the epic for the Med June 8th, Cant wait. This will only be my second cruise altogether and my second time on the epic so plan to use the facilities more this time round.

I am booked into a studio again which i love, The last cruise on the epic i had a studio and was traveling with family but this time round i am traveling with friends.

I am considering purchasing the unlimited drinks package and i have a couple of questions i know it cost 49$ per day but with gratuity/tax etc on this what should i expect to pay for the week?

Posh Beach Club, Last time we all purchased these passes and though they where money will spent for the week. It was quite , peaceful and always plenty of loungers to make use off and only a elevator down to the pool, Can you still buy these.

Hope to book the Cirque show this time round, as we cancelled it last time and sorry we did as it was talked about so many times on the ship. As there is 4 of us all with separate account. If we book separate will we be allocated different seats and should we contact the box office when we board.

My family are also looking at the Getaway S7 forward facing penthouse for September with Haven access for September, is this room OK for 3 adults, will the 3rd adult need to share the main en suite bathroom or is there a guest toilet with shower.
