  1. Have a great cruise! The larger cabin sounds great and it will really handy being near 678 Ocean Place.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Thanks, i thought the same as we had planned to take deck 11 but any extra space is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to trying the suite life, after only doing 2 cruises both with Norwegian

  2. Hey Everyone, thanks for all the reply's and information on the Suite Life. We went ahead with the Forward Penthouse cabin 9706. While deck 11 would be handier for the Haven, we went for deck 9 as deck 12 was sold out.

We priced Norwegian UK, Norwegian US and Norwegian EU and Norwegian EU came out the cheapest.

With regards to butlers and concierge, its great to know what we can expect if we require the service which i think may will come in handy at times. It is also good to know that we will not receive less service not being in the Haven.

The weather sounds good with us so, we have been to Orlando 3 times in August so know what to expect with regards thunder storms

Cant believe we are doing a suite already :):) My parents only have done 1 cruise and i have done 2 both on the Epic Western Med. We are looking forward to the sea days as well and the Haven Experience.

  3. Hi, i have only sailed on the epic in a studio twice, Parents in a mini suite. For our family cruise we are considering booking the Haven forward facing penthouse 3 adults. We have sailed the Epic twice in Europe so we think the large ship will suit us as we had such a good time.

We can avail of the Freestyle Choice offer that has only started for us here in Europe.

    Our package includes:

    2 * UBP

    1* Soda Package

    3* Dining plans

    300 dollars OBC

Its costing us 4700 Euro, is this good Value for a Haven Suite.

I know that we are not located within the Haven, will this differ the level of service we receive.

Any tips with regards to room location, we have a hold on 9706 but i think we will go higher for views , any opinions. I was thinking deck 11 kinda midway point for using stairs if necessary.

Butler and Concierge, what roles have these and do we need to use them.

Weather wise, we are booking the 19th September is this going to be good or bad, we are coming from Ireland so anything will be sufficient as long as there is sun.

Sorry for the extremely long post

  4. Hoping the price drop, looking at the Getaway haven end of August 2015, prices started of around 3600 Euro and have gone to 4700 euro since which was the price of an aft penthouse at the the time. They began to increase slowly leading up to the perfect 10 promotion.

  5. [/sizeDid I miss something on the breakfast menu? Is that it? Just pastries and drinks and fruit? No eggs or anything other items than continental? First time on NCL I am used to a full breakfast menu like on RCL or CEL or DIS...thanks for the answer peeps! :)

Not sure if i was just lucky, but i used to write scrambled egg beside my order both in 2012 and 2014 on the epic med cruise and was delivered each time. I was in a studio both times but tipped accordingly after day 1 and had no problems ordering it :) Its worth trying at least once

  6. A BA balcony on the Jade next May for 7 nights is currently $1559 on NCL USA which has risen from $1359,an increase of 14.7%. The price on NCL UK has just risen yesterday to £809 from £799, an increase of 1.25%. Do the maths yourself. A big difference in price, so it pays to look at both sites

Yes i have looked at all 3 sites and the euro price is the cheapest we found both on the escape and the getaway.

I paid 380 euro for 3 nights mini cruise on the escape from hamburg to south hampton, Norwegian UK was coming out at 390 Pounds big diffrence in price this was for a studio.

We are looking at a forward penthouse with Haven access on the Getaway for next August the price in 3888euro with 300 dollors obc.

Norwegian uk want the 3888 pounds making it around 4800 big price difference.

So ya it pays too shop around :)

Was just passing on what my cruise consultant said that prices would go up by a small bit from tonight

  7. You have a whole bunch of cheap transatlantic flights out of Ireland, we are going there on Sunday and staying for 3 nights in Dublin for a mini break before flying on to the USA, with the Air passenger Duty that has to be paid from the UK our flights ended up been about £700 less than had we flown from Manchester.

Yeah we have for once cheap flights usually its a lot dearer. I was just messing around there and priced indirect flights to Orlando/Miami coming in around 500 or less seems good value. If only we could cruise this year. Hopefully flights wont be to bad for next Aug.

  8. I 'accidentaly" joined in on a travel agent's tour this week in the Haven ( we had a 2BR villa) How close are you 3 adults? Is it a couple and a spare?

    Ann

It for me and my parents, we are family and i am 24. Would it be too tight do ya think or would we be ok with it ? At the moment the aft penthouse is not in our budget but should things change we might change. The forward location will be handy for the haven we thought.

  9. Going booking a forward penthouse this week for the Getaway Aug 15 and your photos are getting me in the mood. My only cruise was the Epic Western Med in a mini suite and studio. Family had the mini suite and i had the studio in 2012 and this year i had a studio again. Do you think the forward penthouses are sufficient for 3 adults. I like the idea of being closer to the haven rather than the aft.

  10. We borded in Barcelona on June 8th and were the first to board after suite guests, we had boarding group 1 which helped. We bought it for the week so cant help there but during sail away the had mimosas , champagne, punch and canapes.

Ps Susanne got your e-mail will reply when i get home

  11. When I went there in the early afternoon it seemed pretty pleasant. It wasn't particularly busy and there were one or two spots in the shade.

I had a frozen drink from the bar and sat on one of the padded deck chairs - very comfortable. All told, not much seating available in the shade on Deck 18 and none whatsoever on Deck 19. When I returned later, in time for the sail-away, I was very disappointed to see that not only was it crowded but that the loud music from the pool band was coming directly up, particularly in the main section on Deck 18 that overlooks the pool and it was very intrusive.

Looking down from Posh over the band on pool deck...

Knowing that such music was likely to be played most days, I started to realise that I may have made a mistake in booking this. I had imagined it to be a kind of retreat or sanctuary - a place of quietude and tranquillity. I returned to guest relations and after some persuasion they reluctantly agreed to refund the cost and cancel my pass. If you are considering booking the Posh Pass, please be aware that there may be a free-of-charge alternative that could suit your purposes just as well, and I will go into this in detail with photographs later in the review.

    .

Hey, I am sorry you where dissapointed with Posh, To me it was money well spent. I was on the same sailing that's me in the picture on the double sun lounger, Blue shorts , yes the sail away was extremely busy due to the heaven guests sail away party held there. It is the only time that they allow kids there as well. There was no sail away in Rome.I was there everyday for the week ,it was great nice and quite and loads of loungers available and not as noisy as sail-away. They would often come around with ice cold towels, fruit skewers etc. It was great for me as i wasnt doing any tours, just coming and going as i please.

PS- I had my key encoded to use the heaven lift to access posh but it was hit and miss, even heaven guests had trouble.

Looking forward to your next installment :)

    Keith
