  1. We are currently in a HG forward penthouse September 1, 5 night sailing to Bermuda.

We currently have bid on the following but not getting our hopes up:

    H5/6 , 475 EURO PP 900 EURO TOTAL

    HB/C 325/305 EURO PP 650/610 EURO TOTAL

While the second bathroom/shower in the aft penthouse would be great for the 3rd adult , if we are unsuccessful we will cope. The 5/6 would be a dream but at the same time 900 euro could go a long way.

Do you think Bermuda will drop their covid testing for cruises that take longer than 5 days to reach them? I am on a cruise in September with NCL it doesn't reach Bermuda till the 7th day. Will the ship test 4000 people on board before getting off the ship?

We also go in September to Bermuda , September 1 for a 5 night sailing but i cant see much changing although Carnival are drooping testing.

  3. The Sale Safe Banner has been removed on the EU Site and the one cant view the return to sail info which was available earlier , looks like they are updating it.

We are sailing to Bermuda from NY traveling from Ireland so this would be great if its one less thing to worry about.

  4. Thanks for all the reply's, a lot can change between now and September but good to know there is lots places in Manhattan. Will check the above places out like CityMD , CVS etc.

I know you can get home kits ordered through NCL, which are supervised by video so that might be an option if i get them delivered to the hotel.

Its extra work for us and will be costly so hopefully by September things will have eased.

  5. We are sailing September 1 2022 to Bermuda and currently have to test 24hrs before we fly into NY. As we fly in 3 nights early, we will have to test again prior to boarding as our original test will not cover embarkation.

Has anyone suggestions on how we go about testing within the NY , can we do online or will we have to visit a store and where would you recommend.

    Thanks

  6. Really enjoyed this review , we are on the September 1st 5 night sailing in a forward penthouse, coming over from Ireland so cant wait to get aboard. All this testing will be a nightmare.

We fly in 3 days early so have to have an antigen test 24hrs before flying, then to test again before boarding in Manhattan and then trying to sort the Bermuda travel authorization when we arrive its all going to be a headache but will do anything to get aboard.

The concierge may have passes but there is no guarantee that passes will be there for you and your friends. You might be able to secure passes for everyone but I suggest that everyone get passes on their own.

There's nothing wrong with asking. Cost will be either $25pp or $35pp depending on how many guests that you want to bring, how busy the restaurant will be, the phase of the moon, etc. NCL once tried charging $50pp but that didn't go over so well.

You can book a table for more than the number of people in your stateroom. Even if there are just 2 in the stateroom, you can book a table for 8.

Sharing isn't supposed to be done. Sharing can lead to the revocation of the package and a charge of all previous drinks to the onboard account. Most people who share get away with it but there is a risk.

You can always contact them (NorwegianConciergeDesk@ncl.com.)

Thanks so much for all the above answers, i will take all into consideration .

  8. We haven't sailed in a Haven Suite since 2015, we are traveling with friends who are not in the Haven and sailing to Bermuda in September.

As this will be there first cruise , we want to put them at ease so once we check in in the Haven at the terminal can we join them or are we better to meet on board?

From what i recall , there is a different check in for haven then brought on board and introduced to the facilities before let go for lunch. We will probably meet them at the MDR for embarkation Lunch

Do you know if we can check inn at the same time with the new assigned check in times?

We are contemplating vibe passes, so we can spend the time with them do we request these through the concierge or guest services when we board.

While i know its up to the concierge pending availability is it worth requesting to see if we can add them to a dinner in Haven and what is the cost. I know this hit and miss, so dont expect it.

Is it 130 days out for Haven Suites to book dining  and dose anyone know the largest table setting for Cagneys and MDR.

If we book Tepanyaki, can we leave this to the pre cruise concierge to ensure we can get seated together.

We all intend to upgrade to have the Premium+ beverage pack, while the first 2 guests in Haven have Premium beverage package the third guest has nothing. Last time we just shared for third guest and there was no issue as 2 drinks per card, is this still possible?

When do you usually here from the pre cruise concierge , we are from Ireland so unsure the process for overseas guests.

  9. Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what's the difference between the cabins for 3 versus 4. We are a party of 3 and have a deck 12 forward penthouse that sleeps 3 we have stayed in a forward penthouse on the getaway on deck 9 which could sleep 4 but just wondering whats the difference between one that sleeps 3 to one that sleeps 4, Is the space in the living room or bedroom as looking at the videos i can see one has a dresser in bathroom as the other has it in the bedroom.

    Escape from Hamburg

best cruise ever ( because was my first ) and the pre cruise meeting in Hamburg. If you are the Keith i think you sat next to me in the Restaurant in Hamburg?

wonder if they do a cruise from med to northern europe or they wait if fincianteri finish the ship in time ( for a time puffer ) And a cruise for bloggers, tubers etc. should be too ( in the med? from southampton?)

     Hey Steff ,

Yes its me , we set beside 2 sisters. Hope your keeping well and safe. The Escape from Hamburg was defiantly a great cruise and the build up too it and all the events on board i still remember it all.

The people on it made the trip a blast and  i would love to do it all again.

I will consult my cruise consultant to see if there is any idea of mini sailings , or that i would be interested in one. They may announce something shortly tho before  the have this big announcement.

    Hi Keith,

At Manhattan Terminal, you go through the security screen at the terminal entrance. Manhattan has 2 general check-in areas, one at the front of the terminal and one at the back.

Haven check-in is about 3/4 the way to the back of the terminal on the right. they will check you in there. The check-in area has a small waiting area with coffee and snacks. Just outside the Haven check-in is an overflow area. The Concierge staff will escort you from the check-in/overflow area onto the ship and directly to the Haven lounge.

Have a great cruise!  The link below was from our trip on the Joy shortly after she arrived in the U.S. We were in a Concierge Suite on that voyage. We are [hopefully] on the Joy later this year out of NY in a Haven suite.

    Hi Bird,

Apreciate your reply , loved your review and pics cant wait to sail the Joy now having only sailed Epic a few times in the Med non haven and Getaway in the Caribbean i am looking forward to the newer Ship and dining options

  12. Hi All,

We have Haven Suite booked on the NCL Joy out of NY September 1 2022,  we hope by then things will be back to normal. We are traveling from Ireland so will probably to 2/3 nights pre and post cruise or a multi trip all going well.

Just wondering is there any difference in NY with embarkation  we have done haven from Miami on the Getaway.

Is there  vip check inn after security or is there anyone we should look out for prior to entering the cruise terminal.

Do NCL still offer complimentary dining elsewhere for Haven guest in the american dinner first day and discount in Food republic the first night or has this stoped.

Having only sailed the Getaway ( Haven) and Epic a few times any tips or pointers for the Joy

    Thanks

  13. Hey All,

Like a lot of us i have had a cancelled cruise, We were due to sail on the April 25th Epic sailing for 3 nights from Barcelona to Rome. As this was cancelled we like others received the 10 percent off a future cruise.

We booked through our personal cruise consultant as always,

My total reservation for a Haven suite for 3 adults September 2022 was 5018 euro,  so i was under the impression of 501.80 discount. I was then told  it would be off the base fares -Taxes/Port /Gov Fees. Is this standard as i never came with terms and conditions?

Also when i went to pay deposit, i had 2 future cruise certs i was told i couldn't use these as deposit and pay the additional balance.  Cruise deposits was 402 euro altogether so i would have paid the additional balance.

Deposit for the Suite was 872.

He told me to wait until the end of year to apply the 10 percent discount which seems odd. Have ye ever heard of this happening is there a reason for it?

    Stay safe and well

  15. Thanks everyone for the wonderful reply's, looks like a great cabin. The Epic Haven sounds great, although we would love 7 days we are happy with 3 nights of pure Haven Bliss

We have done Epic in the Med 3 times already we cant wait not to rush around Rome as it is really a long day on a port intensive sailing so an extra 2 nights in Rome on debarking will be the icing on the Cake.

    Thanks again

    Keith
