Thanks for the info. Yes, I knew it was Basic Economy. First checked bag is $35. No need to pay an additional $120 round trip. Packing light for a 7 night cruise is almost impossible. I've learned to downsize on the packing but not to "light" standards. I used to pack a large duffel bag filled with my shoes. What was I thinking? Packing for a trip to visit the kids in NJ is really light. Packing for our trip to FL to visit friends and then the Bella cruise took some planning. One very large tote for the 3 day car trip to FL, then a small suitcase for the 4 day visit with our FL friends, then the cruise, then the 3 day car drive back home. No matter where I go, my down pillow comes with me.

Our Dallas friends originally from Chicago and somewhere in FL say y'all. None of my friends originally from different parts of NY say y'all. I have yet to hear anyone say fixin'. 🤨 On another note, I found out our non-refundable economy plane tickets to NJ do not allow us any carry on luggage, just "a personal item" no larger than 17x10x9. Should be enough for my kindle, laptop, medication, phone, wallet, eyeglass case, etc., etc. Our daughter booked the tickets, and we had no idea how restrictive they were. Tickets were $214 p/p round trip so we really can't complain.

When I lived in NY it was "Ayeeee, Lady!" I can't imagine a time when I would be comfortable enough to say y'all. I'm just not there yet. 😏 When my daughter came home from her first day of high school in TX she was amazed that the students called their teachers "ma'am". I told her she better get used to doing the same.

Hey Debi, the flowers are Bluebonnets, the ice cream is Bluebell. Look at me!! After living here for 19 years I'm finally getting to be a real Texan! I just need to develop a taste for Dr. Pepper and say y'all when talking to one person. I wanted to quote your previous post where you mentioned "bluebells" but quoted the above instead. So funny!

I can remember our Pediatrician making house calls from where his office was in Brooklyn to where we lived in lower Manhattan. If I needed a shot *gasp* he would walk out of my bedroom with my mother not saying a word, to set up the needle. I just KNEW! If no shot, he would say goodbye and smile. I've mentioned this before but it bears repeating: My father had surgery when he was in his 70s. My mother told the doctor in the Manhattan hospital that she knew his father, many years ago in Brooklyn, also a doctor. The young doctor told my mother his last name was not uncommon at all and asked how she was sure she knew his father. My mother smiled and told him she remembers him running in and out of his father's office when he was a young child. She said "You look the same as that little boy in your father's office".

31 years ago, one Saturday, my daughter, 5 at the time, had bad burning when peeing. I KNEW it probably was a UTI. I called her Pediatrician for advice and he advised me to get to his office as soon as we could. He opened up the office, did whatever test he had to do, prescribed an anti biotic. Those were the days!

Sorry this happened to your husband. The only way I would have been able to get into the ER myself would have been to hop on my good leg. In fact, my ankle was so misshapen/crooked/swollen, the bone almost broke skin. No cast for me. Directly to surgery and 6 weeks of in-patient rehab where I was on no weight bearing on that foot for all that time. I had to learn how to strengthen my good foot to take the place of my operated foot. I had great medical insurance but premiums got so expensive we switched to a plan that only allows 21 days of in-patient rehab.....sigh.

How does someone who might have a broken ankle physically leave the ER to get home? I sure couldn't when I broke my ankle. It wasn't long after my xray in the ER that a surgeon was called and I was notified that I would need surgery. There is no way I could have made it home and then back to the ER. Pain was major even after they gave me pain meds since it was dislocated as well as broken.

Speaking of Dolphins, we usually see them as our ship departs Galveston. Such a nice sight. On another note, can anyone help with the comfort of those zero gravity loungers? Are they comfy for reading with my legs up? The following is just an example of the type of lounger I mean: I went to my favorite food store Central Market today. They sell crisp NY Macintosh apples in season, in addition to real NYC pastrami. The pastrami name is Carnegie even though the famous deli in the theater district closed. The most authentic I've had in the Dallas area. Tonight's dinner will be pastrami sandwiches on crusty sourdough rye, potato salad, cole slaw, all from Central Market. NOT your usual store bought salads or bread. Trust me on this. I also bought something I had never seen before; dark chocolate covered pistachios. Unbelievably delicious. .
