  1. No those are just the photos I took. I was still in my gym kit so was trying to get some photos before it was decimated by the time we got down - there was a huge range of savoury from breakfast items to roast and everything in between 😜
  2. It absolutely was 😁 and for those who are 'buffet phobic' many of the dishes were served on small plates and much of the hot food was served by the staff so less chance of unwashed hands dropping the service utensils into the food 😜
  3. @Baandb I'm with you although I will allow popping back to the room because you have forgotten your shades/sun cream etc and nipping to the loo is also allowed 😂😂. Those who reserve 2 loungers per person (one in the shade and one in the sun) are selfish beyond words and should be made to walk the plank into shark infested waters (well maybe a stern word from someone in authority 😜)
  4. I suppose it's each to his/her/their own. We were on the Regent Explorer last November so had a Sunday at sea with the glorious Sunday brunch - a cornucopia of fresh, culinary delights was on offer and the gentleman 2 tables down asked for a burger and fries 😜😂
  5. @shepherd really from the same 'source' as my post above (there were some sparkles for TC too). The advertised wine menu for Waves and TC seems more limited (especially waves). Last time we were onboard we bought the drinks package and could have any of the wines by the glass anywhere but maybe it's different now?
  6. Must admit to wearing my dressing gown to pop back and forth to the laundry on the Regent Explorer last November. I was getting ready for dinner and the tumble drier was taking an age - didn't want to be a tumble drier hog 😜😜
  7. Well I hate to say that as I am currently recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture, I will probably be wearing pretty, rubber soled lace up 'pumps' so I don't slip and risk a re-rupture and a long dress to hide both my shoes and mismatched calf's 😂😂
  8. @EJL2023 and @judi666 i found these on the main drinks menu someone else posted from their cruise at the end of last year. Haven't been on O for 10 years now (but sailing Vista later this year) but at that time there was a pretty consistent 10 reds, 10 whites, 3 sparkling, 2/3 rose and some dessert wines and that's roughly what appear to be the wines by the glass. I'm happy with the included wines if this is them 😁
  9. Now that's a good idea 😁
  10. @kahuna21 they come under other options. Sea days sell out quickly so check now 😁
  11. I'm with Acrusa here. The main course should not arrive the second the first course is cleared away and I understand why a different second course was ordered as obviously, the original one would be cold by the time there was a respectable gap between courses. However, it is up to us, as customers, to let the staff know how we wish to pace our meals. I certainly don't want 'fast food', however, I'm not eating in a 30 cover restaurant, I'm eating on a 1200 cover ship so a little input from me helps provide my perfect timing.
  12. I don't think I would use the word fault 😁 but I think letting the server know what sort of gap you like between courses when you order is important as what you don't want is your food 'sitting' and going cold. on a Seabourn cruise we took last July, we were sat in the same section as a group of 2 American couples - same waiter - they complained bitterly that the service was too slow and we had to ask the waiter to slow it down as we felt it was too fast 😂😂
  13. Personally I think it depends on you and your children. The parents I dislike (note I say parents not children) are the ones who lie on a sun bed (usually with a drink in hand) whilst allowing their children to rampage around the ship unsupervised - leaping in the hot tubs, taking over the pool, running screaming down the corridors and being a pain in the dining room (although adults can behave equally poorly😜) Children who are relatively self sufficient, who are well supervised, have been brought up to sit and eat properly at the table and who are worn out by daily excursions don't need children's clubs as such because their parents engage with them. We have a Vista cruise booked and there does seem to be a fair amount to keep one occupied - artists loft, needlepoint group, pickle ball, bocce, golf driving and putting, swimming pool, trivia etc plus there are usually daily activities held by the entertainment team. Please don't be put off as it is only the parents who choose to absolve themselves of responsibility for their children the second they step onboard who are probably not a good fit for the likes of Seabourn, Oceania, Regent etc.
  14. Well in the UK young men seem to wear white sports socks with sliders. I threaten my not so young man with excommunication if he even thinks about putting socks on with his sandals 😜😂
  15. @WNcruiser you are indeed a very helpful CC member and I am most grateful that you have taken time out of your day to take the photos - thank you. I have taken your advice and moved along to 9079 😁
  16. We have our transfer booked for 9:15am for a 13:20 flight. It's a good hour from Piraeus to the airport - I'd definitely go for the private transfer 😁
  17. @thebsinmiss you are very welcome. The link was on another post but I have started saving specific pages as favourites as I could never find them again 😂😂
  18. @thebsinmiss this was from October last year -drinks and food menus https://www.thepreismans.com/vista23_menus.htm
  19. @clo I was going to make exactly the same point. The thick quilted stuff is a nightmare for non-conventional plumbing 😜
  20. @Redtravel 9072 is opposite 9083 - close to the suite we have gone for. Strangely, on the starboard side, it goes 9011, 9019 then 9021,9027 so where are 9013, 9015 and 9017 and then 9023 and 9025? This is why I got confuddled with the position of 9061 😂
  21. Thank you @BarbaraM that is the exact position we originally had but on the other side so was exactly what we were concerned about 😱 so we have now changed to 9079 which is between the two sets of elevators. It's my own fault for not double checking the deck plan - we originally wanted 9060 but that had gone and 9061 was available - silly me thought they were across from each other 😜. Anyway, after your advice I'm glad I changed.
  22. Just to say, @Hlitner took a stroll down deck 9 for me and 9085 is opposite a service door so we have changed to 9079 which Hank said was the better option - I do love the lovely, helpful people on Cruise Critic 😁 Fingers crossed for church mice as our neighbours 😜😜
  23. Thank you Hank. We had noisy machines across from us on Explorer and there was significant vibration into the suite. Right I will ring the TA now - thanks again and enjoy the rest of your cruise Patti
  24. @Hlitner - Hank or anyone else who is sharing this cruise with him could one of you please do me a favour and take a stroll down deck 9 and loiter outside 9079 and 9085. I am contemplating moving from 9061 to one of these rooms but wanted to check if there is any vibration/noisy machinery or staff doors opposite in that central area. We had horrible vibration on Regent Explorer in that area and don't want to move from opposite the elevators if it's going to be more noisy. thank you in advance Patti
  25. Some advice please. We have booked 9061 on Vista but it opens onto the 4 forward elevators. I have read reports on the older ships which state this is not a problem BUT I believe Vista has an 'overweight' alarm which rings quite loudly if too many people squash in. There is an option to move further aft to 9085 which is between the two elevator banks, however, when we were on RSSC Explorer last year, midship deck 9 there was horrible vibration from that middle section between the port and starboard suites. I don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire so question is for anyone who has sailed on Vista - is it noisy by the elevators and is there any vibrating machinery or crew work areas by 9085?
