  1. I was interested to find this thread as this problem has occurred to me for the very first time in all my years of flying. I booked with United through Flights by Celebrity and see my first and middle names are merged. However, when I try to enter my Aeroplan number for flight points, United's system tells me the first names do not match. My first name on my Aeroplan account is correct, on the United booking is merged. When I called for assistance, the automated system asked some questions, one being "Is your first name "first-name-middle-name" to which of course I answered no. Only then did it put me through to an agent who was adamant the first-name-middle-name merge is not an issue. I am not convinced and will call again today and speak with a different agent.
  2. Just curious... because your ticket is not actually bought with the airline until you pay in full for your cruise (and airfare), does that mean the lower price you got at the time of the initial reservation could go up before it is paid for? I'm looking at flights by Celebrity for a May cruise and they are less than half of what it would cost me to book myself (business class). Just seems too good to be true.
  3. That's reassuring, thanks for responding!
  4. I am considering booking a MC Sky Suite on the Edge for sometime in 2024. I have watched several You tube videos about that category and only see two very small and (I think) non-reclining chairs on the balcony. Can anyone comment about whether the furniture has changed and whether it was possible to request a lounger from your Butler? It will be a warm weather cruise and I really like to stretch out and relax on the balcony! Thanks in advance.
  5. As noted above, the Pan Pacific is located directly above the port you will board at. I have taken many Alaska cruises from Vancouver (my home port) and have found the easiest way to avoid crowds is to either board early or late. Starting the boarding process at 10:30am or waiting until1:30pm, gets me through and onto the ship quite quickly. Enjoy your cruise!
  6. I had a BCC free cruise offer and selected a Mexican Riviera cruise sailing in March of this year. A few weeks later I decided April would be a better time for me to cruise and was able to switch to a California Coastal with no issues at all. However both cruises were from the original selections offered at the time I received the free cruise. That may have been the reason it was easy to switch. And, obviously, there was still availability on the April cruise. Never hurts to call and ask.
  7. I get offers from BCC but have to phone to find out about them. For people wondering why they are not getting offers, phone BCC at 1-866-461-7170 and ask if you have any offers under your CC number. I just wish I could figure out the secret of how to get them sent by e-mail!
  8. Are you using the app or computer to check in? I am also on a September 16th sailing in Aqua1. Had some problems with the app so checked in by computer and had no trouble choosing an arrival time. Once I got the app sorted out, I confirmed my check in info and chosen arrival time were there in the app as well.
  9. I just disembarked the Eclipse yesterday after a one week Alaska cruise. I agree - definitely use the app. Upload everything you can in advance, passport, photo, vaccine history, etc. I arrived at the port of Vancouver for my 11 am check in time at 10:42am on July 10th, and was through all the various checks and immigration and in my cabin by 10:57am. I am convinced it was because I used the app.
  10. This information is spot on and much appreciated. I sail frequently from Vancouver and have always found the staff to be helpful, patient and professional. Prior to scheduled arrival times, I found the secret to breezing through the boarding process was to arrive later in the afternoon. Even when I did face a crowd, remembering why I was there, to embark on a relaxing cruise, helped with getting through the line ups.
  11. The only reason that a price for a cruise may change is if the cruise line changed it, such as adding a supplemental fuel charge. The travel agency and their agents should not, and I suspect do not, have the right to add charges after the fact simply because they are unhappy with the commission paid by the cruise line. I would ask for a copy of the original passenger invoice provided by Princess. If that matches the original price on your TA invoice, that is the amount you are required to pay.
  12. Unless I'm missing something, I assume you have a copy of your original invoice from either the TA or Princess from when you booked last fall. It should state the amount that was agreed upon for the cruise at that time. Your TA is now coming back to you and telling you you owe more than what is stated on the invoice? If so, it is not Princess' charge, it is the TA telling you to pay their commission. That is simply not the responsibility of the customer. The commission is between the TA and the cruise line. If you have an invoice that states clearly what you owe for the cruise, the TA should honor that figure.
