Wow, ageism lives!! I'm too embarrassed as a senior from Florida to itemize where I think you may be mistook!

Mahogany, when we grew up respect for your elders was accepted and expected behavior.  Not so now.  Not sure how that happened🤔

  2. We were on this cruise also.  I have to say Looking's experience was nothing like ours or other cruisers I talked to.  We were on deck 6 and I never noticed dirty food trays.  Laura is one of the shore excursion people and she is a sweetheart.  We had no communication issues with our butler and used him a lot for room service.  Crew in general were very friendly and efficient.  Food and wine were generally very good with a few misses.  We were able to use the TV system both for cruise info and watching movies.  We talked to many folks during the cruise and the only comments we got were along the lines of "we are loving this cruise". This is not to say things don't happen.  They do.  This was our first Silversea cruise, and we classify it as a competitive luxury line.  We mainly cruise Regent and Seabourn.  The demographics on all the luxury lines tends to retirees.

  3. We were on this cruise and the return from Seward to Vancouver.  I thought the breakfast in La Terazza was fine.  Lots of choice but I normally ate scrambled eggs plus bacon and sausage with hash brown patty or croissant.  There were many other choices which I did not try.  The Arts Cafe on Nova is very crowded in the morning and they have to wait on each customer individually.  Overall this was a nice cruise with great service and generally good food.  Nova’s outside spaces are great but in Alaska you may not be able to use much.

  4. Just got off Nova 14 days Vancouver to Seward and back. I had followed flyers posts and appreciated all the information including the warning about not being able to use the outdoor facilities.  I agree that the optimum cruise for the Nova is warmer weather.  The outdoor areas are fantastic.  We had 628 guests on the first leg and there was no problem handling us inside. Second leg the same although I did not ask for the guest count.  There was some coughing going on but nothing like an outbreak.  No one talked about it as an issue. This was our first SS cruise (Regent, Seabourn mostly) and SS is an excellent cruise line.  Nova takes a little getting used to with its unique layout.  Never met anyone who wasn’t loving the cruise.  Little nitpicks?  Of course.

  5. We board Nova on May 9th in Vancouver.  We will be boarding with two other large ships (about 7600 passengers).  Do they separate the queues for each ship?  Would not like to be in one huge line!  Also, on disembarkation in Vancouver does Silversea take your bags the night before and have them available after you disembark?  Our first SS cruise:)  TIA.

  6. We used to see these offers described by CC posters.  Have not seen many, if any, lately, i.e., post covid.  With the current cash issues for cruise lines AND the switch to public ownership since the examples given above, I wonder if the future of guarantees might be different.

  7. Not a gripe!

We are gold and can book excursions 365 days ahead.  That was Tuesday at 8PM.  I downloaded all the excursions on Monday and picked ours so I was ready. Cruise is Grandeur March 19, 2025, Miami to Barcelona.  Ports are Great Stirrup Cay, Bermuda, Azores, Cadiz and Valencia. We like all these ports and were excited to book several.  However, the one I wanted MOST was "swimming with the pigs" in Great Stirrup Cay!  I missed Tuesday and booked today.  Only one of my options was waitlisted.  You guessed it.  I must say this has elevated my opinion of my fellow Regent cruisers, who I have always held in high regard.  We may want to see the world, but we love our animals!

  8. I wonder if SS employees can sue for distress as they lie in bed at night wondering if their company can make it through the pandemic and wars, and if they will be able to take care of their families and what career will come next?

  9. We are debating whether we need an accessible cabin.  The major concern is the shower, and this would not be a problem if there were sufficient grab bars in the Grandeur class showers.  Could someone please advise. TIA 🙂  (Searched and got some interesting links but no real information)

My kinda party! Let the tall tales begin 🤣 any chance some of you (in addition to my bestie Mudhen) are on Grandeur end of January or early February?

Pat and I and our friends Rod and Shelley are on the Feb 5 cruise.  I joined the roll call a couple days ago.  I don't think papa is on.  Would be fun.😀
